Bought a beautiful set of Cuisinart 64-13 Contour Hard Anodized 13-Piece Cookware Set; however, unknown to my family and me is the fact that the handles on the lid tops and on the pots (NOT the pans) become scalding and dangerously hot!! How can this be? Is this a design flaw? I'm sorry, but I could not recommend this product due to handles becoming so hot. We have a gas range so maybe that's part of the problem, too. Nonetheless, I would certainly expect a product like this made by a reputable company such as Cuisinart to have tested and thought through a solution to the hot handles. ... show more

Dangerous product. Do not purchase. I have been using this set less than a year. This morning I made eggs and found tons of specs in the eggs. It turns out the specs are the non-stick surface of the skillet. Had I not noticed the black spots I would have literally eaten the lining of the skillet. I can't imagine how many times I have done this before. In addition, the rims chip, and the skillets fade. I have followed all instructions on cleaning and using proper cookware. I have had Cuisinart Hard Anodized pots and pans since I got them with my wedding 6 years ago and they finally are showing wear and tear on the non-stick coating. Some show swirls but the coating is intact and other, more heavily used pans, show gouges in the non-stick but it's several millimeters thick and not flaky. I used the medium sauce pan ONCE to make rice. Literally just water, salt and rice and when I went to clean it with a non-abrasive sponge the whole inside along the contour felt bumpy and there were huge flakes of non-stick missing from the pan showing the aluminum underneath. I could easily scratch it off with my finger. FIRST USE! My old pans were of same quality and price point 6 years ago and either Cuisinart have gone so downhill in quality or this contour set I got was fake. Either way they were returned immediately and I will buy elsewhere. ... show more

I cannot express how much I love this set. I did my research and purchased them from a store as my first new cookware after getting married. I didn't have a dishwasher then so I didn't always washed by hand. After a year or so I got lazy and started using metal utensils on them. They still lasted over 5 years before the nonstick coating started really getting scratched off. I loved them. Then I decided to try the whole ceramic nonstick fad with a set from Cooksmark. I could not have been more disappointed. So I paid the restocking fee and got rid of them after 3 months, bought this set from Cuisinart again and the first time I cooked on it I breathed a sigh of relief. My old reliable was back! Even if something you cook like homemade mac'n'cheese or spaghetti gets caked on the sides, a 5 minute soak in warm water and everything releases like a dream. But I can cook eggs with no oil or just a little butter and it's a beautiful thing! Thank you Cuisinart! ... show more

I really love our new set of Cuisinart pans! Even heat distribution. Lids fit every pan. Nonstick and very easy to clean. The long pan handles do not get hot. You do need a potholder for the short panhandles and the lid handles if they have been on the pan for a long time. The bonus is the pans look great which makes them more enjoyable to cook in. I purchased several individual pieces to complete the set and I love all of them! Highly recommend. ... show more

This set is absolutely adorable! And I've enjoyed using it so far. The reason for four stars are two-fold. The set is missing a 3.5 qt sauté pan, and also missing a lid for the smallest frying pan. While that might be fine for some folks, and they are not promised with the set, I really miss them from my old Cuisinart set. I had to go out and buy them independently and they are much more expensive than when you buy them in a set. The other reason for a four-star rating is the fact that the external finish scratches extremely easily. We typically wash our pans right after we're done cooking and they've cooled. We set one of them in the sink next to a fork and it's scratched the finish. I was very surprised by this because it doesn't seem that delicate, yet it was! Without a doubt, best pots ever! Just make sure to handwash so the non stick can last. They cook amazing in med high heat and then you lower temperature and continue cooking on med or med low. My daughter and I love these pans sooo much that we're now cooking almost every day!!! To wash, just a drop of dishwashing liquid and everything comes off. You will not regret purchasing tjis set. And, oh, when they tell you it's 13 truly pots, pans and lids, not spatulas or any other utensils. ... show more
