Description

This one-of-a-kind unit combines 3 cooking functions in to one appliance; pizza oven, griddle, and grill. As a pizza oven, the unit features a 13" cordierite pizza stone which retains and distributes heat evenly across the surface for a perfectly cooked crust every time. The stone is secured by pegs on the bottom of the grill grate that not only keep it centered in the oven, but slightly raise it off the surface to allow for natural convection heat around the pizza. The oven will reach temperatures of 700° F and up and cooks pizzas in 6-8 minutes. The dual-hinged lid design features a drop down pizza oven door that allows for easy access in to the oven with minimal heat loss. The lid also acts like a standard grill lid, flipping up and down, allowing for greater cooking versatility while griddling and grilling. Easily switch to griddle or grill mode by simply swapping out the cooking surface for whatever function you want to use. When not in use, all of the cooking surfaces neatly pack away on the storage shelf below. The griddle plate and grill grate are made of 100% cast iron for maximum heat retention and long lasting durability. Don't be fooled by the travel-friendly size of the 3-in-1 Pizza Oven Plus. Not all modes work as good. Pizza oven: 4 stars This is the best mode but not as good as a dedicated pizza oven. Typical of using a pizza stone that is close to the same size as the pizza the heat rise around the edges of the stone. Standard 12" frozen pizza on 13" stone. The edges of the pizza will cook much faster and get crisper than the center. Also, it is a cheaper ceramic stone and not the more durable cordierite one. Still, it is a standard size and easily replace when it breaks. Grill: 3 stars It is OK for a really hot grill but cannot be turned down much. This is a single burner unit. It is sized for the pizza oven mode but it too large for a low temperature grill. The flame spreader does a reasonable job but there are still some hot corners. Griddle: 1 star The griddle has a rough surface. Everything sticks to it. Bacon is OK but forget trying to do eggs. All is not lost. It has a rough surface coating but under it is a nice piece of cast iron. I used a quick strip disk and got off most of the coating. An orbital sander got rid of what was left behind. A Dremel tool took care of the corners. The surface has raised letters labeling the back side. They really catch all kinds of sticky stuff and cannot be cleaned. I sanded them smooth. With some work and typical conditioning for a cast iron cookware it came out really nice. Maybe a lot of work. One thing that cannot be fixed easily it the drain hole in front. As others have noted it is like trying to work around a blow torch. Very, very dangerous. The griddle is made to drain through the hole and drip into the bottom of the grill. The sheet metal is folded to direct it to a hole over a grease cup. It is a real pain to clean out afterward (as others have noted). There are 2 holes but the rear one is not over the grease cup. I am going to put the griddle in with the hole to the back. I am going to try and make a piece of foil to catch the drip and guide it to the hole. I will probably have to put a larger grease cup under it. I give myself a 50/50 chance. Portability and Weight. You would think as a tabletop unit it would be somewhat portable. It is not even close. In total it very heavy. The grill and griddle are heavy cast iron. Along with the pizza stone are more than half the weight. I got a bag for a Camp Cheff griddle for them. This thing isn’t large but it’s nice and heavy! Which to me means quality! It’s not so heavy I can’t pick it up myself, but it’s easier with my husband helping! Once I get some stuff cooked I will update this review!!

Before I go into other details, I want to say why I rated this 4 stars. The actual product should get 5 stars, but mine arrived with a dent, which I assume was caused in shipping. I see other reviewers mentioning similar issues. This item was shipped in its own box. Full disclosure: this fact was noted on the ordering page on Amazon. So maybe some of the fault lies with the manufacturer not packaging it well enough for UPS shipping individually. The dent on mine was near where one of the legs attaches, but my wonderful amazing handyman husband was able to get all of the legs attached anyway, and I don't care about a dent. It doesn't affect the function of the product. However, a larger dent in this area could make it impossible to attach the legs, or maybe someone less handy would have had trouble with a dent of this size. So I want people to be aware. This product is available for the same price from other vendors, at least it was when I purchased it (though we were unable to find it in stock at any bricks and mortar retailers). Or maybe if you choose the gift option, they will put it in a larger box? but I don't know if that would be enough protection, and the product box itself is quite large. I made pizza with this yesterday. I have not yet used the grill or the griddle. Both the grill and the griddle are nice heavy metal. The unit is easy to turn on and the directions are clear. The pizza came out very nice, but you need to watch it because it could burn. The pizza setting results in a temperature of over 600 degrees, so pizzas will cook faster than in your home oven. A couple of nit-picky things: The instructions say to rotate the pizza halfway through cooking. So obviously whoever wrote the manual believed the oven wouldn't have even heat. I was unable to figure out how to rotate the pizza stone without burning myself, so I didn't do it, and I don't think it mattered. The pizza was very evenly cooked. Also, the little pizza door is maybe not wide enough to be used for more than just checking on the pizza. My pizza peel would not fit through it. But since the whole cover opens like a normal gas grill, I'm not sure that matters. Overall, I was really happy to get a pizza oven at this price, especially considering it also works as a grill and griddle. I just can't afford the more expensive pizza ovens but I've wanted something like this for a while. ... show more

Liked the multi-function and size of this unit. Was really pleased with the pizza - it was crispy throughout, which you can't get from an interior oven. I've been using it weekly now for our pizza nights because this is definitely better than baking a pizza in a regular oven. It was easy to assemble and use. Would strongly recommend you keep the setting on "High" throughout the baking process vs. using the "Pizza" setting. I found that using the pizza setting created a less crispy pizza crust. Couple of things I didn't like about this - 1) the legs are a bit wimpy and shaky especially if you need to hold the unit while the oven is hot (all other surfaces are too hot to touch); 2) the lid which closes after you put the pizza in/remove the pizza does not latch consistently. Not sure what's going on with that but it's not easy to close and you can't leave it open as it affects the interior heat, hence the reason why you have to hold the legs of the unit to try to close the lid. I almost returned the unit because of the latch. 3) It would be nice if the hatch were transparent/glass to allow you to see and check on the pizza during baking vs. having to open an already faulty latching mechanism and fighting every time to reclose it. ... show more
