    • Cheap, effective pack for cleaning your flat grill
The products here work well enough, especially if you keep your flat grill clean. I inherited an outdoor griddle that had not been maintained, and so I needed a heavy-duty cleaning, which was a bit outside of the products' capabilities. The grill stones are very fine grit, so they're good for keeping a grill clean, but not so much for deep cleaning. The holders stick out on all sides, so cleaning the grill's walls with the stone is tricky. They seem to have a long life, so that's nice. The scrubbing pads are not hardy enough to employ on a hot surface--they will disintegrate. If you let the surface cool for a few minutes and squirt water over the surface, these work really well. I purchased this kit to use in concert with Stera-Sheen griddle cleaner on a Wolf range. I was disappointed on two items. The scraper was rusted (see photo) and the green pads cannot really be used on a warm griddle — they start melting, the online griddle cleaning instructions for Wolf showed a similar pad being used on a mildly warm griddle but that is not the case with these — they basically “melted’ flat after a round of scrubbing. So I restarted, working the rust off the edges of the griddle with the stone (requires a lot more elbow grease than I expected and still didn’t remove it thoroughly) and waiting for the griddle to cool before using the pads. Bottom line the griddle looks a LOT better than when I started. I think a good bit of that is due to the Stera-Sheen… these tools/pads have nothing proprietary about them. I think you could find a less expensive kit: I just thought it was nice to have it all self contained and it was the kit Wolf recommended. The scraper is very sturdy and generally has a fairly sharp edge to it which is nice. The handles do a good job gripping the pads I’m not sure how the spare stone attaches to the handle or how the stone affixed to the handle is removed — it seems glued or affixed. Overall there were some disappointments but it helped get a unloved griddle much much cleaner and remove some of the rust that accumulated ... show more
