  • Happy with it, family even happier!
I waited a long time before writing this review because I wanted to make sure I could say something beyond the honeymoon stage. Now I'm finally ready to do so. This machine has turned out to be a blessing. Sure, it has its quirks like any other automatic appliance. For instance, the suction cups that should secure it to a counter surface aren't that strong (more on that later), but at least it does what it offers. Now, I need to inform you that while the basic white bread process renders the most delicious bread on earth, the whole wheat was a disaster. I will take responsibility for it, because machines aren't smart enough to fail on their own. I liked that I can add stuff or replace it and the machine keeps on going (I learned to use oil instead of butter, real milk instead of powdered milk, and to add raisins or cranberries to my white bread). Good things: timer reliability, very good dough kneading, crust baking, ease to prepare bread and to remove loaf at the end. Not too satisfactory (but then, this may be because of other factors): whole wheat bread was a disaster, and so was trying to make a baguette dough. It just didn't rise, but I'm taking responsibility because I must have made a mistake. Now, the funny story (back to the suction cups): I got used to set up the machine at 10 or 11 o'clock the night before to wake up to freshly baked bread. This machine is good at it. However, when it's in the kneading cycle it almost dances... and the last time I left it to work overnight, it danced... and fell to the floor. Disaster: the dough was on the floor (salvageable), and the machine lost its lid (broken hinge). Here's the nice part: I contacted the manufacturer. They requested that I sent them a photo of the damaged machine. I did, and their reply was to offer me a new one, free of charge, as a courtesy—yet, with the severe admonition that I should never leave the machine unattended. Why make it programmable then? In any case, if the machine performance was quite satisfactory and the bread was loved by my whole family, now I can add a word about Cuisinart: they really stand by their product. The machine was so tough that even with a broken hinge it still made good bread! Needless to say, I'm continuing using this machine and can recommend it because of its ease of use, bread quality (at least the white bread) and good results. ... show more

  • You need this bread machine!
The media could not be loaded. This bread machine is awesome! Something everyone should know is that there is a science to bread making, one you master it, you’re good to go. Once you learn how to use this bread maker, it’s so easy. The nonstick bread pan is so great, because the bread never sticks to the walls of the pan. The bread machine always mixes the ingredients perfectly and so well. The shape of the bread pan and bread itself is amazing. The bread comes out perfect every time. Bread making couldn’t have been made easier! The bread slices are literally the exact size to fit into the toaster. Ever since this bread maker was purchased, no bread from the store has been bought! It is so much cheaper to make bread yourself than to buy it from the store. I never would have thought bread making could be this easy. The bread makes the house smell so good! Every time you walk into the house you just smell delicious bread! When the bread is finished baking, the whole family is waiting, just to get a piece of the bread. I encourage you to buy this bread machine and to just make bread at home!!! This bread machine does not disappoint. You can make all sorts of bread in this machine. I love my bread machine and I’m even considering to buy another one. If there were more than 5 stars for the review, I would give it 10/10 stars or more if possible! ... show more

  • Great bread
I have used the several times so far and it has been great. Easy functionality and cleaning Bread turns out great. I love the signals. First one is for any add ins and the second one is to remove the paddle before baking starts.

  • at first a learning curve, once understood a great little maker
my loved zojurushi mini breadmaker had to replaced not due to any machine malfunction but rather built in obsolescence in that when my pan gasket failed there were no replacements to be bought. ive made bread in my machine 2ce a week for most of the 5 yrs i had it so i am aware of the process, accuracy of measurement, warmth, freshness of ingredients etc. first the good: the inner light, its nice. i used it alot the back up programming battery of 15min for power outages. thats a great idea. used it mid knead to move the machine closer to warm oven and it kept my place of the bake the compact look of it (except the stainless steel, personal preference of mine, hate the constant fingerprints). the interface on top of the machine. the in depth description of ingredients, what they do, how to use, expiration times etc. the ability to size a loaf. the explanation to change ingredients based on need etc. the manual does a good job of explaining baking to the novice which was a surprise. the price. not the cheapest but mid range all good. the bad: lord the cheap, thin baking pan. my old one was thick metal, no finish to scratch off. this one is just asking to be dented or lose the cheap finish. the wire loop is flimsy and judging by how finicky it is to seat and lock the pan i can bet it will fail quickly. the paddle is so hard to seat as well. you have to line up the cornered edge and wiggle it till it goes down. the noise. this thing makes loud noise when it kneads, when it thinks when it ponders life and the possibilities of toast. the paddle clangs and bumps the whole time. the alarms go off like incoming nuclear missile warnings and there is no way to tone it down or stop the alarm which goes until the feature time is over whether its for 'add in' 'remove hook' or its done!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! warning will robinson warning! so very loud. need a way to mute it. the manual. so small. so hard to read the actual recipes. the font is very small, faded. there are no guide lines or grid so you can easily scroll across to the 3 sizes listed. they dont list the ingredient first. instead of milk, its zero fat room temperature grass fed no antibiotics moon raised milk. i exaggerate but just list milk, with the caveats behind. the recipes dont work. at least the two i have tried. im used to my other machine, being able to not worry so much about accuracy, able to add ingredients for extra flavor, never had a failed loaf. this one i pulled out all my gear and measured like i was making product in breaking bad series. failed. like a brick. my sister who recommended me this also had failures so stuck with one recipe and was happy for that. shes not my favorite sister. what i want, an easy to read manual with large font, pictures would be great as well, my other manual had it so it can be done. less noise or ability to program the volume down. less finicky. stronger baking pan, better fiting paddle. less face it. most of us will end up using maybe one or two recipes and call it a day. most will just opt for the 1.5 size loaf as its the default. we dont need all the programming fluff that gets a sale. going to try a few more loaves and see if i like it any better but i fear a return is in the making, which i hate doing. update: Ive made more loaves, some failures, some ok, two great. I think what worked for me was placing the unit near my oven which i preheated then turned off so the ambient heat in the area was much warmer as my home is pretty cold during winter. my success (using the same ingredients including yeast) were much better. I also made sure all the ingredients were warm as well. loaves made: sweet dough, had a very hard time kneading cinnamon bread, failure, dense, prob because the sweet dough was dense, should have added more water to it during knead onion cheese, ok basic white, one fail, one good raspberry danish, ok, dense brioche, perfect! some others all ok going to keep the unit. amended star rating from 2 to4. gotten more used to the sounds. since writing the update ive made more loaves, all turned out good. UPDATE: ive since made many loaves of the basic white bread the largest size. all have come out perfect. it was indeed my house being too cold ambient temp wise so make sure you warm up all your ingredients and if need be use the oven near by ( i like to roast dinner while the loaves are rising) ... show more
