  • You probably forgot how good fresh bread is
Style: Compact Pattern Name: Machine
From the first loaf you immediately taste how delicious fresh bread is even compared to a premium store brand. This machine is a quality build with simple buttons to start the process. With a small investment of pantry items you'll be able to start making bread without a learning curve because the machine does all the work. Start with French bread which is flour, water, salt, and yeast and progress into breads with more ingredients. I don't think I can ever go back to a supermarket bread; it would be like switching to gas station coffee from your own freshly ground beans and brew. ... show more

  • Great bread machine with some new nice features
Style: Compact Pattern Name: Machine
I saw some of the low feedback and was nervous about getting this bread machine to replace my previous one. I understand that when multiple versions are listed on the same listing, the reviews are all jumbled together and also the reviews are jumbled together for sellers other than direct from Amazon or the manufacturer. I bought the compact version directly from Amazon/the manufacturer. My product was brand new (never used) in the original box and a matching shipping box. Ok, I’ve made bread dough in the bread machine and now I’ve made bread in the bread machine and it looks like a keeper! Something interesting about this machine compared to my last machine is it is smaller, but still makes the same size loaf! Also it has an alert tone for the end of the kneading cycle so you can check that it made a good dough ball after kneading. Meaning if the dough ball is too wet, you can add more flour and run it again. It also has an alert tone at the end of the third rise so you have an opportunity to remove the dough and remove the paddle before the baking cycle for a prettier loaf (and easier removal of the paddle). The only thing I think might be a concern is how loud the alerts are and there is no way to turn off the alerts. Not a problem if you aren’t worried about waking anyone… ... show more

  • Easy to use, makes delicious bread when recipe done right
Style: Compact Pattern Name: Machine
I’m so glad that I bought this when they were selling out quickly due to the Covid19 crisis. I’ve made about a half dozen or so loaves of bread in the past three weeks and overall have had excellent results. First, I saw several reviews that said the bread maker didn’t come with a paddle. I thought the same thing at first - please note the paddle is taped to the inside of a cardboard piece that protects the inside of the maker from scratching. They should make this more obvious as I can see how people could overlook it and accidentally throw it away. On to the maker’s attributes, it has a nice look to it on the counter and it is compact enough that I don’t mind leaving it out 24/7 in my smallish kitchen. I will note that I have NOT used the recipes in the book that came with it. They seemed a bit fussy and with no reviews on the recipes themselves I didn’t trust them. I bought a couple of bread machine bread cookbooks that were recommended to me - in particular the Bread Lovers Bread Machine Cookbook. I’ve also found recipes on King Arthur flour’s website. For those that are having trouble with the bread machine making loaves properly, I suppose it could be the bread maker malfunctioning, but I imagine it may be more likely that people are not measuring correctly or putting the ingredients in the machine in the right order. For my first loaf I knew I overmeasured the water just a bit but figured no biggie it will be more moist. Nope - it was too airy (but still pretty good)! Next time I did the same recipe and was more precise on my measuring and it was perfect! Another time my bread didn’t rise properly and was dense but I didn’t blame the bread machine - I know I messed up that time because it was honey bread and I forgot to put the honey in with the liquid ingredients before the flour was added so I ended up putting the honey on last which I’m sure messed up the yeast activity. That bread however was still good and edible just too dense. The other tip I’ll give is to make sure to measure flour properly. I didn’t realize this was an issue for so many people but all of the flour books stress this point so also make sure you know how to measure flour without packing it. If there is way too much flour I’m sure the bread won’t turn out. Conversely, the bread books tell you that if your dough is too moist during the mixing process, that you should add flour during the machines’ kneading process. During my very first loaf I could tell it was likely too moist through the window but I was too scared to interfere with the process. On my last loaf I made which was a Hawaiian sweet bread I could tell it was too moist so I added flour every couple of minutes during the second knead until it made a smoother dough ball that held together. The bread turned out delicious! In summary, do your research on how to optimize the results you get from your bread machine and enjoy your baking process and results!! ... show more

  • Quite a good little machine
Style: Compact Pattern Name: Machine
Wanted to try a bread machine without making a huge investment. Decided on this one and so far quite happy. Pros: 1. Reasonably small footprint. 2. Directions are mostly clear, with a good number of recipes included 3. Shape of bread pan. Produces almost square loaves. Nice for sandwiches! 4. Very simple to clean 5. Results so far very consistent and reliable - makes great bread! (Have tried 3 different recipes, each a couple times so far) Cons: 1. A bit noisy during knead cycles 2. Appliance sometimes "walks" due to the motion during kneading. I don't think it would move itself so much as to fall off the counter, but as a safety measure, I place the unit near the back of the counter, bundle the excess cord length with a bread tie and use it almost as a leash. I figure if the machine really moves itself forward enough, it'll unplug itself before it falls. (So far, mine has only moved itself an inch or two) 3. Love the bread shape (square) but note - a standard toaster is too shallow to accommodate the entire slice - about 1/2" sticks out the top. I flip the toast around midway through. 4. Audible beeps for "add in" and "paddle" (removal, if desired) are easy to confuse. I wish the tones sounded different. Overall, very satisfied with this machine. I've put it in my "good to give as a gift" category. ... show more
