  • Works well, but the price has risen too much.
Buying RAM is less complicated than it may seem for most people. Very few people will enable the XMP profile in their BIOS such that they can use the slightly faster speed this RAM allows. However, at the time I purchased it, the 2400 and the 2133 were the same price so I bought the faster one even though I plan to run it at stock speeds. I bought this for a laptop that was going to be running several VMs. They were detected the first time and it has been running stable for the past two months. Nothing more to say other than this RAM works. If you are wondering about compatibility, I would use the tool on the Crucial website. It's great because it will tell you if you need DDR3 or DDR4 as well as the max RAM you system supports. You could do the same thing yourself if you know your processor and motherboard chipset, but why not make life easy and use the tool? Unlike most other computer parts, RAM with the same specs from any reputable brand is basically the same. So just get what is cheapest. RAM prices seem to fluctuate like crazy, I got this for $250 in September 2017, but today (just two months later) it is $315… That seems like too much to ask. I haven’t docked stars for the price since it seems that all RAM has risen in price but I would search Amazon for “32GB DDR4 SODIMM” and get the cheapest thing that was from Crucial, Kingston, Corsair, G.Skill, or HyperX. Avoid Mushkin and you’ll be fine! ... show more

  • Quick delivery, easy to install
The hardest part of upgrading the laptop is getting the cover off. Once it’s off, the install takes just a couple minutes. My 6 year old, Windows 10, 12GB HP now has 32GB and runs like a champ. I always say the easiest way to improve performance is more memory. The chips are great.

  • Absolutely the best memory for the money!
I went to the Crucial website and ran a scan of my computer. Quickly the scan software came back with the recommended upgrades for my laptop. The great news was that I could simply click on the Amazon choice for where to buy and the order was fulfilled promptly. This memory worked perfectly when I installed it in my laptop. Very pleased with this purchase! ... show more

  • Quite pleased - benchmarks attached
Aside from the latency score (which is a bit of a farce) this RAM performs quite well. My system is an HP EliteBook 745 spec'd as follows: Ryzen 7 pro 2700U, 1TB EVO 970, and two sticks of the Crucial RAM. PerformanceTest scores: memory mark: 1597 (48th percentile) DB ops: 75 (63rd percentile) read uncached: 12974 (71st percentile) memory threaded: 29394 (91st percentile) read cached: 24909 (69th percentile) write: 7998 (62nd percentile) latency: 101 (2nd percentile) These scores are quite good for a laptop that is not overclocked. I can have 5 VMs running on Hyper-V, and the system is very happy and stable. Would I buy this again? YES! ... show more

  • Works fine with Protectli Vault FW6B
This review is for the LEVEN mSATA SSD 1TB 3D NAND TLC SATA III 6 Gb/s, mSATA (JMS600-1TB) ASIN B08M62FTBN (USD$108.99 on 09/2021) and Crucial RAM 32GB Kit (2x16GB) DDR4 2400 MHz CL17 Laptop Memory CT2K16G4SFD824A ASIN ‎B019FRCV9G (USD$145.93 on 09/2021). I purchased and installed them at the same time to upgrade a Protectli Vault FW6B 6 Port, Firewall Micro Appliance/Mini PC - Intel Dual Core i3. I am running OPNSense on FW6B in a home network and this is a way overkill upgrade. I installed both items at the same time approximately 1 week ago. The FW6B recognized both with no issues and is working fine. I decided to upgrade as the original system was a 4G Memory and 32G SSD unit. I wanted more memory to run Sensei and some other packages. Most of the time my CPU usage is 0% with intermediate spikes to 3% to 7%. I happened to capture a rare spike to 25%. As I said this upgrade and system is way overkill for my application. All I can say is that the FW6B/Memory/SSD combination appears to be working with no issues. ... show more
