My first square crock pot was a few years ago when the square ones first came out. Rusted right away on the outside. Red color/paint peeled off. Did not heat evenly. Recipe book had a box cake recipe. Cake never firmed up, even after hours of cooking. Hoping since the square crock pot has been out for a few years now they have greatly improved. So far it has made parmasean chicken great. Gave it 4 stars because the box advertises a cook book with it but there isnt one. Was looking forward to the cook book as much as the new crock pot. ... show more

We saw one of these at a party and had to have one. Only thing keeping it from five stars is the excessive heat on the outside of the base unit. You will get serious burns if you touch the stainless surface on the outside of the base. We have several other crock pots and none of them get that hot on the outside. Be careful! 2022 Wanted to add an update here. This has become an indispensable help in our kitchen. I have been working from home for two years now, and I use this cooker at least twice a week. What’s for supper tonight? You want enchiladas? BBQ pizza? Pasta? Anything with chicken, at noon I fillet a three chicken breasts into two pieces each. Spray the pan with cooking spray, lay the chicken cut side down, add a pat of butter on each, season with salt and fresh cracked pepper. Put the setting on low and by supper you are ready to shred perfectly juicy, tender yard bird to make supper quick and easy. We are now making this a go to housewarming or wedding gift. ... show more

It arrived intact with no broken pieces and worked exactly as planned/described! We use it for tailgating, hosting, group potlucks, etc., and it has proven to be incredibly efficient for travel, baking with the dish and then transferring to the warmer, cleaning, and holding food temperatures as needed. Purchased this to replace my regular crockpot. The casserole concept is fantastic, the food cooks evenly, kitchen stays cool and it's so easy. Comes with a small leaflet which contains several good recipes/ideas. Recently made Baby Back Rib recipe following instructions. 8 hours on low (without any additional liquid added) resulted in very tasty and moist meat. Finished on BBQ for char and mopping of sauce. Saved hours of time with great result. Control functions are easy (up and down arrows) and can be programmed in 1/2 increments not waiting for a entire cycle to complete to get to a warm setting, remember to be careful when touching base of unit as it becomes very hot. Clean up is easy pan fits easily in the dishwasher. The clamps on the side best be handled with good care as other reviewers mentioned they have broken , you cannot lift the unit by the lid, only the base. This is quickly becoming a staple in my kitchen, I would highly reccomend this product. ... show more

I feel like I am being ridiculous, but I love this thing. Now that everyone is working from home/school, I am making breakfast casseroles all the time. That is my new thing and the shape of this crockpot is perfect. I find that it cooks a little hotter than my other crockpots (could be age of my other crockpots). That means recipes take about 1 hour less to cook. That is a perk for me because I stay hungry. The faster the food cooks...the happier I am. It does "feel" and look massive on the counter, especially if you do not have a large kitchen. I do wish they had a smaller version (same features), to make smaller casseroles. No matter the size, I think this is a great crockpot. Game changer for me. ... show more
