My aging eyes need all the light they can get. The ability to adjust the brightness and to go from warm white to bright white makes this lamp the most versatile and effective lamp I have had. This is mostly next to my sewing machine - first time I have been able to sew after dark in many years. I have also moved it next to my living room chair on occasion when working on cross stitch or embroidery. It is a little heavy, but that makes it sturdy. I hardly ever write reviews but after reading the other reviews for this lamp I just had to put in my two cents. I love this light! I found it very easy to put together (I'm a 67 year old woman) push the poles together and that's it. The base is very heavy and the light swivels any way you want. Love that you can change the temp of the lights and make it as bright as you like. I also have an ott light which I like but this new one is brighter and adjustable. I adore this lamp. I do lots of fiber crafts in the evening and before getting this lamp I was straining my eyes so much. I almost gave up on this evening activity, but with this powerful and flexible lamp I can do my crafts without strain, AND without affecting others around me. I can lower the head to where light shines on my work and my family can watch TV or go about their activities undisturbed. It’s like a spotlight.     • Round part of light fell out

I purchased. It then took a little bit to arrive. Took out of box, assembled, and left it (I had to be at an event). I didn't plug in or turn on. Went to my event. Came home. While I was sitting and unwinding from my event I heard a weird noise. Looked over and found that the round white part of the under side of light fell off. Weird. I have a floor lamp from Cricut that I purchased directly from Cricut and it works fabulously. Never had the lamp fall apart and works to this day with no negatives. I love it. This desk lamp however, is a different story. Once it fell apart I tried matching pieces and pushed the round part back into place. Turned on and was disappointed with the brightness of the light. I figured I mixed up layers. Tried prying the main round piece back off and ooop quickly found out that there is a very sticky tape that helps seals the round part to the light. How did this just drop off with no reason? I found that there is a main outside plate, then a white circle, then a clear circle. Or is it outside plate, then clear circle, then white circle? It doesn't matter because neither made the light any "brighter". Ultimately I chose not to include the "white Circle" which made the light a bit brighter, but really how safe is that? Just save your money and maybe purchase directly from Cricut.com or purchase another brand. This desk lamp, my desk lamp was not worth the money I spent. ... show more
