  • Works great - not too hard to assemble
This machine does a great job. It is my first 3D printer, and I've already successfully printed a few items. Be sure to adjust and level the bed before printing, to avoid damage and/or failed prints. One assembly tip - I found that in step 7 of the printed assembly guide that I was unable to slip the belt (#14) under the rollers of the extrusion assembly (#05). I had to remove #05 and #04, hold the belt in the track (#18) THEN install #05 and #04. Not a big deal, but hopefully this will help you avoid the same inconvenience when you build your unit. I'd guess that the ends of the belt have been made larger since the original instructions were printed. ... show more

  • Love it love it love it!
This printer is incredible! This is my first printer so I have nothing to compare it to but it blows my expectation for a $200 Chinese 3D printer out of the freaking water! And it seem like everyone in the world loves their Ender 3 Pro and Creality's other printers. I did have issues with the bowden tube coming out of the extruder. I used some gorilla tape and zip-ties and it holds it. It's a known issue and you can get an upgraded connector and tube. Other then that one issue I was printing successful prints as soon as I had it assembled and the bed level. The print quality is phenomenal. Looking at other peoples prints online I can see this and I'm astounded that this printer can do what it does. 10 out of 10, I'm probably buying an Ender 3 V2 very soon or maybe a CR-6 SE ($399). If you want a printer and you've never had one buy this printer! (Or spend a little more and get the new V2). ... show more

  • Good entry level but will end up costing you more time and money in maintenance and upgrades
Reasonable value, no issues out of the box. Was careful to square things up when assembling. Upgraded the bowden tube, heatbreak, and bed spring (replaced with silicone standoffs). Had to replace the extruder lever because the filament had worn a slot into it. Relocated the filament spool to the side. Added octopi and a tplink smart plug to scontrol power. Using prusa slicer with the mkii defaults and 3mm retract. ... show more

  • Months after my purchase, remain very impressed
Written instructions for assembly are terrible. Use the video instruction instead. Bought this one based on a friend who had purchased hers 2 years ago and found it to be completely reliable. 3D prints can be finicky. Wanted the best chance for reliability because I don’t live with my grandson. I wanted him to be able to use it reasonably independently. Success! He’s only 9 and designing his own creations. ... show more

  • Ender 3D Pro Printer review
Product has been great. I am legally blind an was able to setup the printer. I have been printing for 2 months now. it is a process to understand the nuances of the printer and accompanying software. I like the magnetic tabletop, it makes it easier to remove the object. Youtube videos helped me put the printer together and answered some questions I had. A small amount of hair spray will help the object stick to the bed if needed. The price made it affordable for me. I have not tried the upgrades yet, but I hear they are great additions. Product comes default with some objects to print. I suggest printing at least one of these objects to help get an understanding of the process. ... show more

  • Beautiful Start with some Extreme Problems Now
The assembly of the unit was fairly straightforward but would have gone even smoother had I known there were video instructions on the included SD card! So take note new buyers, check the SD card before you do anything else. After assembly and leveling the bed the first two prints came out beautifully. Sadly, things have gone downhill sense then. At first it was just minor quality issues, but now after less than a month I have found that the bed needs dramatic releveling after each print and most prints fail within an hour. Now that I am clued in to potential problems and am actively looking for causes I have noticed that my printers 'z' axis seems rather loud when printing. Much louder than every other stepper motor. At first I thought this must be normal but now I have my doubts. Long story short is that the printer is currently an oversized paperweight after less than a month. I am going to be reaching out to the manufacturer for additional support and hopefully this can be fixed. The printer is clearly capable of beautiful things, just not my printer. ... show more

  • Good home 3d printer
This was my second 3D printer. And it is so much better than the one I've had for the last 5 years! Assembly took a couple of hours. It took a while to get adjusted so that the prints were coming out right. I had to watch some of the available youttube videos on adjusting to get it just right. Have printed TPU, PLA, and PETG and have had great results. The magnetic bed is pretty good with good adhesion. ... show more

  • A very good base printer out of box that can cheaply be improved/fixed
I have been using it several months without issue. It's a great printer for this price point. Bed was properly attached and not loose and it went together without issue. Assembly directions could be better but there is a great video on the Creality site if you have never put together a 3D printer. Had to add 3d printed spacers to the bed to get to proper spring tension to keep the knobs in place. The magnetic sheet is holding up well and has no signs of wear. On other printers, with a similar sheet stuck to a fixed surface, I would have expected to have to replace it by now. They have done a nice job of bonding it to the magnetic so you don't have those issue. The other nice thing about the magnetic sheet is if your bed is not perfectly level, as you often find at this price point, you can just shim the low points with a heat safe material between the two magnetic layers. The extruder gears are kind of weak at pushing the filament but work as long as the hot end is hot enough. If they are clicking, increase the hot end temperature. 185C for PLA is too low for the weak gear extruder gear. I would recommend upgrading to the extruder gears to the $15 metal set with the gear linking the two and recalibrating the extruder stepping. Bottom line, it works out of the box and with a minor amount of TLC and knowledge it works really well at its price point. ... show more
