This one gets a full 5 stars from me. I’ve been truly excited to give this printer a shot ever since it was announced at release. I’m going to be honest, I’m a flashforge guy. After using the Creality? I don’t want to go back! When I say the quality of this printed is amazing, I mean it is truly remarkable. It feels like having something out of Tony starks lab sitting on my desk. Unboxing was a breeze, packaging was top tier and they definitely took the time to carefully pack and place styrofoam in every place to ensure a safe arrival. Upon opening and removing styrofoam I was happily greeted by multiple warning stickers guiding me what to do and not to do. Even better? A support book that supported several different languages, walking you step by step on how to set up your printer. For this first time in a long time I didn’t look up a video. That instructions were that clear. In the 3D printing world I’ve never met a company that made me feel like they truly believed in opening their products up on every level to the consumer until creality. They even included several spare parts for any future breakdowns which is incredibly handy to have. Inside the printer you’re treated and greeted with a beautiful 256x256x256 build plate, a bright light to provide you easy working light, and a pretty decent camera. (All of these can be controlled in the creality cloud app and printer) After the initial set up I went right to printer calibrations where bed leveling was a breeze with a push of a button. Using some hyper white pla that was included with the printer we got right to work. Print speeds were impeccable! Not only this but the printer while printing? I barely heard while I continued my work in my office elsewhere. So far we’ve had zero issues with quality of prints, clogging issues, bed adhesion, or print failures. Don’t get me wrong 3D printing to someone new can be very intimidating. Not with creality. Do yourself a favor. If you have thought about getting into 3D printing, this should be at the top of your list. The pricing is incredible considering you get an electronic dry box from creality and a printer. That’s called quality value for your money right there.

So far so good. Packaging was top notch. Assembly wasnt too difficult - I was printing within an hour. 250g white filament included - typical prints range from 25-100g so went through it pretty quick. Print quality was great. We were using creality app so far to print some shared model files. Note CFS requires 1kg reel size, so you need to print adapters to use cfs with 250g reels. I didnt realize this at first so had a few errors with the cfs, but used the spool holder to start. Kid friendly to start (find a model, click print, make sure the right filament is selected), and aiming to get into more complex stuff as kids learn. Havent had any clogging issues. Auto leveling and calibratibg been working no issue. Heated print bed been working and pieces have come off without breaking. Got on sale for 550$ seems to be the best multicolor i could get for that money so good value

I've been running this printer for about a month. There's good, bad and ugly. The Good - Out of the box this printer is pretty nice. It has a nice presentation and has decent quality prints out of the box. The installation is easy and I would say for anyone who can put together IKEA furniture this should take you no more than 15 minutes to assemble. Printing PLA is really easy as long as you ditch the slicer software packaged with it and just use Cura or Simplify 3D. The Front stabilizer bars are great for stabilizing the Z axis and dual Z axis motors assure the X carriage will move evenly as it goes up. The Bad - The filament runout sensor is useless where its mounted. It causes snags and dragging on the filament. I ditched the filament sensor because the drag was causing print quality issues. They advertise this as an all metal hot end but I'm not sure I would agree with that. The PTFE tubing goes really deep into the hot end so it does get hot and lets out fumes accordingly. Ultimately you should invest in E3D products for your hot end if you plan to keep this long term. THE UGLY - I'm giving this product 1 star because of how significant "the ugly" is. After about a month of usage I noticed a strong smell I didn't recognize coming from the printer. Upon inspection I notice the blue shroud that goes over the hot end was melted where it gets the closest to the heater cartridge. The melting, in my opinion, was significant and there was even a part that was completely burnt. I have asked the seller to send me a new shroud but after some thought this seems like something that needs more than just a OEM replacement part. This blue shroud should be completely metal due to the proximity to the heater cartridge. CONCLUSION - While this product seems great out of the box I could not and will not recommend it to anyone. The potential of fire here is increased when structural parts begin to melt and/or burn. I reached out to the seller to ask if there were plans to correct this issue, so we'll see what they say. I have attached photos for reference. UPDATE: 2021-09-17 The heated bed broke on this printer with less than 200 hours on it. There are no easily found replacements and my reaching out to the seller has gone on def ears. I will never buy Creality again.

I'm fairly new to 3d printing but this one was not a inbox and print for me. Putting the things on it was a snap. I had a 3rd party PLA and had issues of it loading from the get go. Once the Rfid came in, it loads no problem at all. I did edit it and tell it was generic PLA but it just did not want to load. So my personal recommendation is use the rfid from the start. I do love this printer over all and most issues I've had are operator errors I'm sure :-)

When I first received my printer everything was very well packages and easy to set up. I watched the set up video and everything. The worst part was when I went to setup the account and download the software. I quit trying after 4 hours of it, two days later I finally got it all to work but it wasn't smooth at all. I think their system needs work. Maybe it's just me? Once I got it all set up then I had issues printing. I finally talked to someone about a month after I had it and they helped me out. I don't know if it's just this brand 3D printer or what, but it was hard to start using. I have used others in the past where I turned them on and just started using it. If I keep printing then everything is good with it. Seems like If I go away for a week or so the printer has issues at the tip. Would I buy another one, Yes, Yes I would.

This is a true hobbyist and beginners printer for someone just starting out with printing. There are by far numerous better printers by this company and others that are far more user friendly, however it is user friendly enough and at a good price point for someone who wants to start or try 3d printing without breaking the bank. The biggest gripe I have was the instructions, they were fairly terrible, I ended up by the end just going by the the final product picture to get it right. Other than the assembly part using the machine is straight forward and the biggest issues will be understanding the settings. In terms of the bed the leveling screws would not get it level no matter what I did, however if I used the auto level feature after it was warmed up it always seemed to print level afterwards. The z axis offset is another area to learn, the factory setting often was too far off causing bad prints and I had to adjust it for every print style and filler I used. Adjusting z axis offset, extruder temp and bed temp though is part of the learning curve with any 3d printer as every filament type is different and some print models react different than others, so do not expect to just plug it in and toss is a downloaded file and expect a good print, it takes time to master. In short this is a good printer once you get past the instructions for assembly, just keep in mind you will not be going from no experience to excellent 3d prints in a few hours, the learning cure is steep but the reward is well worth it.

I ordered this printer in April 2018. This is not my first printer, so I am familiar with 3d printing and have been at it for several years. I decided to get this printer because I heard a lot of positive things about it, and it has a large build area. Overall this printer is pretty good for the price. I would recommend it, except for one critical issue (that I am hoping is remedied). The printer that I received has a "fatal flaw" because of a bad capacitor on the motherboard. The 5v regulation on the motherboard has a high ripple. This is because Creality used the wrong type of capacitor on the most recent motherboards (v2 and v2.1). What this means: you will see the temperature reading vary from 3-5 C when you are printing, and even a bit (1-2C) when you are sitting idle. When printing under 220, the printer will still print ok, though you may see some variation in your layers due to the temperature oscillation. Another real concern is when you try to print above 230C (which is required for filaments like ABS or PETG) . My board can't even heat over 230 C because of this capacitor issue. If you google "CR 10S temperature issue" you can learn more about this. I am attempting to get a replacement board from the seller who I bought through on Amazon. They have asked me for a video of the problem. The seller claims to be in touch with the manufacturer (Creality) so I am hopeful I'll get a replacement. If I do get a replacement board, I will come back and update my review. I'm hoping this issue gets resolved, and I believe Creality will eventually start shipping printers with the correct capacitor, possibly in version 2.2 once that is released. My recommendation would be to double check that the issue has been resolved before buying this printer, unless you only plan on printing PLA or don't mind the hassle of getting a replacement board and opening up the case. Apart from the above issue, the printer is very good. The quality of prints are excellent even with the stock hot end/extruder. I've successfully printed PLA, Flex (TPU), and TPEE. You can also do a lot of small upgrades that will make the printer work a lot better. For example: add a Capricorn tubing so you can print flexible filaments easier. You can also upgrade to a "drop in" all metal extruder like a microswiss or a genuine e3d v6 (custom mounts are required) if you want to print higher temp filaments. I also recommend getting a nice build surface, like BuildTak. I picked up a 3 pack of "Athorbot" build sheets, which is just like BuildTak, but a lot cheaper- it is working great. People have reported issues with warped glass beds. My glass bed turned out to be fine. I used a dial indicator gauge to check my bed for variation, and it was quite flat. If your bed is not flat, you can get a 6 pack of mirror tile (12x12") for very cheap as a replacement. One other thing that I'd like to point out is around safety. I don't recommend printing over 210 C with the stock setup. This is because the PFTE tube (bowden tube) goes all the way into the hot end, through the heat block right up to the nozzle. This design is actually really good for constraining the path of the filament, but unfortunately that has a dangerous side effect. After 210C, the PFTE tube will begin to release toxic gasses that can be harmful to pets (especially pet birds). After 240 C the stock PFTE will deform and cause you printer to jam. Capricorn tubing will allow you to print up to 300C, but you will still have toxic off gassing. If you are just printing PLA, the stock setup is great. If you want to do much more than that (PETG, ABS, Flexibles, etc.) you should consider upgrading, and will need to make sure you have a good motherboard. Update: a few weeks after I requested a replacement board, the seller was able to send me one. I’m very pleased and the issue I had is no longer a problem! Raised my review to 5 stars because everything seems to be working great now.

Or if someone told you that your own product review focuses on the manufacturer too much and not enough on the actual product? And then didn't run your review? Here's where I'm going to be brutally honest with you. Creality makes a good solid 3-D printer if you don' look at the drawbacks that go *with* the product. For instance as I was saying, before I got into this is that there are two main parts to a product. The physical and the parts that you can't exactly call by a name but are just as important. Oh good I thought of the name... intangible. Let's say that you just love playing pinball and you buy your favorite pinball machine. And then let's say that there was only one stipulation and that was you had to buy your own balls and you were required to buy those every time in a pack of fifty. And still let's say that you had to use all 50 balls all at once or you'd lose them. Do you think that would be fair to you? Remember now, you bought the machine and you're the one who plays and you bought the balls so doesn't that mean you own the balls too? And then suppose you had to find out about giving up those balls without prior knowledge. Say you even bought 1000 balls only to find out later that you had to use all of those at once or you'd lose them. Think you'd be happy? Yeah that's what I thought. I wouldn't be either. But I had to face that situation with Creality because you won't believe what they've go going. Here's the deal. I you put a reel of filament in one of the machines you bought from them for as little as 1 second, it would be tagged with an RFID signature and if you remove that filament and try to put it back in it won't work. You'll actually get an error message stating that you can't do that. You will never be able to use that filament in that machine again... EVER! Now just like the pinballs, I tend to believe that what I buy I own and that *nobody* except a court of law is authorized to take them from me. And even then they'd have to have concrete evidence that I don't own them. So this is what I got to go through today and had it not been for the Grace of God that I found out in time to return the printer, I'd have been stuck. And so how do you know what you're getting into with a company like Creality when they lie through their teeth about things like this? What do you do when this happens and your Amazon 30 day period is up? First, you make several complaints to whomever will listen. And then you sit down and write a review just like this one and hope that Amazon won't kick it back to you saying it isn't a product review because you're reviewing the "seller" or "company" and not the product because as I stated earlier, this kind of control IS part of the product and I would put it to you that it is even more a part of it than the box that has the printhead in it because it affects your God-given AMERICAN freedom and the rights you have AS an American. Don't you dare to get us confused with the countries who don't have these birthrights that we so dearly cherish. 'Nuff Said
