Limited-Time Brilliance Backed by Non-Existent Support

When the Creality K2 Combo first arrived, I was absolutely blown away. The promise of high-speed 600mm/s printing combined with multi-material capability via the Creality Filament System (CFS) seemed like an absolute game-changer. For the first couple of weeks, it lived up to the hype, churning out breathtaking multicolor prints with crisp lines and incredible velocity. Unfortunately, that honeymoon phase didn't last. What started as an exciting engineering marvel has turned into a massive, expensive paperweight sitting dead on my workbench—and dealing with Creality to fix it has been an absolute nightmare.The Good: Flawless Early Performance If the machine could actually maintain its out-of-the-box performance, it would easily be a 5-star printer:Blazing Speeds: Pushing the printer toward its 600mm/s threshold is spectacular to watch. Thanks to the rigid frame and motion system, it handles high acceleration smoothly without immediately turning prints into ghosting-ridden messes. Seamless Multicolor Layouts: The CFS module initially handled multi-filament prints beautifully. The automatic reloading, retraction, and color-swapping routines ran cleanly without requiring constant user intervention. Stunning Print Quality: When the extrusion, bed leveling, and cooling assemblies are synchronized, the layer consistency and finish on complex models are truly top-tier.The Bad: Sudden Mechanical Failure & Broken Promises The real issue with the K2 Combo is its long-term reliability. After a short period of flawless execution, the machine threw critical errors during a routine color swap and ground to a sudden halt. The system suffered a cascading failure involving internal electronic communication and toolhead faults. It didn't just experience a simple nozzle clog; it experienced a fundamental system breakdown that completely locked up the printer's core functionality.The Ugly: Incompetent Support and a Refusal to Exchange While a hardware defect can happen to any brand, Creality’s handling of the situation has been completely unacceptable:Months of Failed Troubleshooting: My printer has been completely down for months. I have spent countless hours opening support tickets, sending log files, and following repetitive, canned troubleshooting procedures provided by their technical support staff.Useless Back-and-Forth: Every response from their team takes days and reads like an automated script. They have had me disassemble components, check wiring, and flash firmware over and over again, yet they clearly have no actual understanding of how to resolve the deeper issue. Absolute Refusal to Exchange: Because it is entirely evident that I received a defective machine that cannot be repaired through basic consumer troubleshooting, I formally requested a product exchange. Creality has flat-out refused. Despite the printer sitting uselessly under warranty, they prefer to leave their customers stranded in a permanent loop of unhelpful emails rather than standing behind their flagship hardware.Final Verdict:The Creality K2 Combo has all the mechanical potential to be an industry leader, but it is crippled by terrible quality control and the worst customer service ecosystem in 3D printing. If your unit works forever, you'll love it. But if you are unlucky enough to experience a hardware failure, expect your expensive machine to collect dust on a shelf while tech support ignores you. Proceed with extreme caution.

Printer. Good. Resin Printing. No.
Coming from a few years of FDM / Filament printing and a decade of subtractive manufacturing (machining), the Halot One was my first foray into resin printing. At a sale price of just over $100… why not? The printer itself is great. While the build volume is limited (all resin printers), the printer itself is of considerable size and seems to be of high quality. Fit and finish is very good for the price and I was off printing high detail parts about a hour after the box arrived at my door. The touch screen size and responsiveness are great and the interface is intuitive. The wifi connectivity is fantastic and the app works great thus far. While it seems the software was terrible upon release, the updated version that I experienced was great. However, resin printing is not for the faint of heart. There is a big learning curve when it comes to successfully slicing custom resin prints specifically on regards to supports and it's very different than FDM printing. The post processing after a print is complete is a big pain and can often make the difference between a successful print and a failure. The resin is toxic and the fumes are nasty there needs to be a high level of attention put on safety at all times. Resin printing as a whole is very inconvenient. However, given the right use case (high detail minis), the low cost, and the great product.. it is a great option if you are dead set on resin printing. For everyone else.. go grab a SV06 filament printer. Since purchasing the Halot One, I've had hands on with a Mars 2 Pro and I have to say they are comparable. Build quality and print quality is very similar, but the touch screen and interface of the Halot One is more favorable. My favorite resin thus far has been the Elegoo plant based abs-like resin. I've used various resins from Elegoo, Sunlu, AnyCubic and this has the best balance of fumes, quality, strength, brittleness, and ease of printing. For the love of everything.. if you decide that you want to get into resin printing, please wear your PPE every time you are close contact to uncured resin and do so in a ventilated area. This includes nitrile gloves, safety glasses, and some sort of ventilator (or a good exhaust fan setup at least) every time! Be safe fellow creators.. best of luck.

First 3D printer!! 2 returns and the 3rd is working like a charm!

Purchased 3 different 3d printers for my 12yr old’s first ever 3d printer!! The first printer I purchased (anycube kobra combo) was far too advanced for being brand new to 3d printing, so it was returned. The second printer I purchased was this Creality K2 (without CFS) which I would’ve given 5 starts however I also returned this printer. As it was having so many issues, requiring hours of tinkering time, failed prints, and lots of tangled filament. Therefore I also returned it. Now my 3rd and final printer is the Creality K2 combo, which is essentially the exact same printer, with the addition of the CFS. Which I would say is 5 stars! No more tangled filament, successful prints and far less tinkering time required!

Great Printer for anyone getting into the hobby!
Set name: K2 Combo
I started printing with a CR-10. Then I got a Lottmaxx Shark. Then an Ender 5, a Bambu Lab A2 and finally this, a K2. So I can tell you first hand how much 3D printing has improved over the years. I'm so used tot he fuss of setting up my 3D printer and then fighting with it tooth and nail to make it work properly. The K2 worked right out the box. No adhesion issues, no leveling the bed, no irritating little settings here and there. Set it up, hook it up load a filament and go. This thing is amazing. This and the Bambu Lab A1 are my go to recommendation for getting into 3d printing. The cr10 was $400 dollars back in the day. and it didn't have fifth of the features this does out of the box.

Good Value Resin Printer suitable for beginner
I've been printing on FDM Printers for a while but have avoided SLA printers due to the issues dealing with resin. My daughter continually asks me to create miniatures for her so I decided to give it a shot for the higher quality available. I was choosing between this printer and the Voxelab Proxima 6. I was close to pulling the trigger on the Voxelab (I already have a Voxelab Aquila FDM printer and love it) but decided against it for the following issues: they are no longer using Chitu boards, I see few if any firmware updates, no wifi or app. This unit had all of these features. So now onto the Halot One: Everything was well packaged and the unit appears to be well manufactured. Setup was fairly easy, but recommend following youtube videos rather than following the written instructions. Pros: - Vivid and responsive large touchscreen - Wifi and App control/monitoring through Creality Cloud app - Ability to update firmware straight from printer and recent firmware updates - Free stl files available through Creality Cloud - Halot Box software is actually pretty good, also compatible with Lychee Slicer and Chitubox (kind of) - prints well first time with default settings - when you print it allows you use the printer settings or file settings. These can be very convenient as you would not need to reslice based on using different resins. Cons: - Build plate is a little awkward to manage. you have to unscrew the large screw and then pull out the build plate. I would have preferred being able to use the screw to hold the build plate itself - The cover has to be aligned perfectly in order to set properly and even so, resin odors still escape while printing. Would like there to be a stronger seal and a more easy way to align positioning so I don't risk bumping into the hardware on the way down - carbon air filter does not appear to do very much. - using chitubox requires you to convert the file using an extra tool called uvtools. - installed fep sheet had a small dimple in it. Not sure yet if it will affect printing. - included test print files were a bit limited Note: Some users reported receiving a plastic scraper and extra FEP sheets and resin strainers. I believe I received 1 extra FEP sheet, a metal scraper, and 3 resin filters.

It’s a good reliable machine, we did have to buy an extruder kit. For some reason it would not retract the filament. Took me 20 minutes to replace the part. It’s been working flawlessly since the replacement. Yes, I bought two,my wife took over the first one.
