The media could not be loaded. We have used this product for about 3 weeks. This morning while cooking breakfast we noticed a burning smell that didn't smell like food. I removed the lid (Crispi cooking element) and the splatter shield was on 🔥 fire yes on fire. So after I unplugged the lid cooking element. I carried it outside as the splatter shield continued to burn rapidly. Yes it's possible that grease from food splattered on the shield and that could contribute to the continuous fire. I've never seen "silicone" burn like that before. Now I'd question what this product is made of "food safe" I don't know anymore. There are to many unknown factors now to question. I will try to burn my extra splatter shield in a controlled environment just for my own knowledge. Be careful with this product. Hopefully I'm the only person that will ever experience this. Update: as of 12-21-25. Now my Crispi is burnt to a Crisp and no longer working properly. The motor circulates air and that's all. This product has cost me a whole other Crispi. ... show more

Wish I'd gotten these before I started using my Crispi. When using the 6 cup container the food is not that far from the pod, so spatter is likely. And it's very difficult to clean the grill on the pod. I like that this is a 2-pack; one can be in the dishwasher while you use the other one.
