I’ve never bought thinking putty before, but the doc prescribed something like this to a family member, wanting them to use it for strength and dexterity in their hands. I have sensory issues and whenever they weren’t using it, I would borrow it to squish to my heart’s content. When I saw this, I had to get it for myself. I’ve only just received it, so I can’t comment on whether or how quickly the colour fades. Out of the box, the colour is really beautiful. The consistency is perfect: based on other reviews, I was expecting it to be slimier than it is, and I’m glad that’s not the case. It’s getting the thing out of its tin that’s a challenge. Mine had leaked around the edge and dried, creating a sort of seal that made opening the tin even more difficult. Luckily, I had just ordered a spudger, and that made things a lot easier (see photo). But based on this experience, I’m being careful to keep the tin flat, which means I can’t just chuck it in my backpack. This is not okay. I will need to find a better storage solution, which is disappointing given the price tag. So why five stars? Because the squishy is super squishy and wonderful, and I couldn’t bring myself to subtract stars for the subpar tin. ... show more

I got this for my daughter who is a sensory seeker. She has fun with it and it seems to meet some sensory needs. I have fun using this too…if you put heavy pressure on it, it seems to resist, but if you just lightly touch it, it has more give. So far it seems durable and haven’t had issues with it drying out, I believe it said it would never dry out. Another thing I’ve been pleased with is that it doesn’t seem to stick to things - it does stick to itself nicely though, so if there is a little residue on something, I just put more of the putty on the item and the residue comes right off. ... show more

Beautiful, stretchy, and satisfying to play with. The color reminds me of labradorite. Helps greatly with fidgeting. Only downside is difficulty with opening the packaging for the first time; it took about 5 solid minutes of prying and twisting to get it unsealed.

My grandchildren love this stretchy, fun putty and I love that it comes in a sturdy metal container for easy storage. This isn't the cheap, sticky slime that you find at the local dollar store. Worth every penny.

I was searching for something to help calm my overactive thoughts, as the silly putty I had been using previously wasn’t quite effective. I was very pleased with this product—it has no scent, is extremely soft and pliable, and the stretchiness adds to its soothing quality. I also appreciated the size and felt the value was excellent. The only issue I encountered was with the packaging. After removing the outer plastic, I found the canister lid was glued shut and extremely difficult to open. I ultimately had to use pliers to get it open, which should not have been necessary. Despite that, this is a fantastic product. Here's all of the info I gathered that might be relevant for people that are interested in this putty: It's probably going to be difficult opening the tin for the first time, but this happens with most if not all tins of thinking putty in my experience. The texture is slightly grainy, it's not completely smooth like a Super Scarab. I don't mind the charms but they can be taken out if you don't like them! The glow in the dark is beautiful, and you can charge it with a UV lamp if you don't have a place to put the putty where the sun can hit it directly. It smells like glue or something similar but you have to get REALLY close to it to smell it, the value for the money is great and it's soft and easy to use. This is a really good putty to tear. Overall, I love this putty. Great for people who like things that glow in the dark like me. ... show more
