Highly Recommend I highly recommend the Craftsman battery-operated chainsaw. It has plenty of power for trimming trees and cutting branches around the property, while being much easier and more convenient to use than a gas chainsaw. I really like being able to put the battery in and start cutting without dealing with gasoline, mixing fuel, or pulling a starter cord. It’s lightweight, easy to handle, and has performed very well for the yard work I’ve used it for. Battery life has also been good, and I like that the battery works with other Craftsman V20 tools. For homeowners looking for a convenient chainsaw for regular tree trimming and cleanup, I would definitely recommend it. ... show more

    • Good chainsaw. I would buy again.

I'm 75 with a bunch of trees. If I cut and stack branches on the curb, my city will haul them away. I have been using a Poulan gas chainsaw, but this last storm pulled down a lot of branches, and I was worn out trying to start the Poulan. I already had the Craftsman 20V system. When this chainsaw arrived, I immediately went to work. This chainsaw is light, easy to use, and cut really well. I'm glad I bought it. The photo is from 1/2 hour of cutting. ... show more

    • A nice add to my Craftsman collection!
Style: 5Ah Chainsaw Kit
This little workhorse proved itself worthy during a recent storm where 60 mph winds took down a couple trees. Decided to try this one out before dragging out my big gas powdered saw. It made quick work of everything under about 8" and even tackled a 12" trunk for several cuts. But that's when I decided to drag out the big boy and finish up. Great Saw for small to medium jobs! Handling branches up to about 10" without issues. Battery life is decent with a 4ah. Short with the 2ah.. I have a few batteries so no issues there. It's a little pricey but what quality battery powered tools aren't. I can definitely see using this on my smaller jobs. ... show more

    • Excellent
Style: 5Ah Chainsaw Kit
Please make the required adjustments to the blade and chain before using, otherwise the chain will walk very quickly in your first use. *You'll need bar and chain oil!!! The weight is perfect. Battery life is impressive. Very satisfied with the purchase.

    • Unchained malady
Style: 5Ah Chainsaw Kit
Bought this brand new saw used for small 1-3" diameter trees. Using steadily without pulling off the trunk, the chain comes off the blade easily after a few minutes of cutting. The shorter version of this saw even worked better compared to this. Completely useless. Will return.

    • A great little chainsaw
Style: 5Ah Chainsaw Kit
Craftsman has a reputation for making quality products and this chainsaw is no different. The saw is light and maneuverable and I really like that it automatically oils the chain. I would have liked to see that it comes with a bit of bar and chain oil but it did not so I just grabbed a bottle at the hardware store and filled it up. It comes out of the box razor sharp and made quick work of all the trim work I had to be done. The battery life is great and has great power. The only issue I had with this is good idea with a slight flaw, to unlock the saw and use it you have to move the guard on the front, while this is a great safety feature it is very stiff and I felt like I might break the part the first time I used it. I'm hoping that over time it breaks in and becomes easier but overall this is a great product for the money and will take care of any trimming and cutting you need to get done. My father has a Ryobi battery operated chain saw and for the price I found the Craftsman to be a more versatile tool and better quality, but that is a matter of opinion. ... show more
