Overall, I really like this Craftsman 6-Gallon Pancake Air Compressor. Before this, I never owned a pancake compressor — my previous compressor was a 20-gallon unit, and it usually took quite a while to build pressure. This pancake compressor reaches pressure surprisingly fast — around 5 minutes or maybe even less. I didn’t measure exactly, but it definitely felt quick. It builds up to 150 PSI and shuts off, then when using tools it restarts around 120–125 PSI and refills automatically. The system works well and feels responsive. The included accessory kit is pretty good, but I do wish it came with one extra male connector. There’s a tire inflator, attachments for inflatables, and in practice one more plug would make switching between tools much easier. I ended up borrowing one from another kit. I did run into some trouble connecting the fittings to the hose. One of my male connectors leaked air at first, and I had to redo the Teflon tape several times. Eventually, I found that pressing some tape into the threads first and then wrapping a regular layer over everything sealed the connection perfectly. It took me three attempts, but after that I got a completely airtight setup. The kit is actually very versatile. If you’ve ever inflated things like sports balls using a hand pump, you can screw a ball needle onto one of the adapters and dramatically speed up inflation. I’ve already inflated my car tires, bicycle tires, and other items — it’s really nice not having to pump everything by hand. One thing I noticed: at one point I set tool pressure to 50 PSI and turned off the compressor so it wouldn’t refill. As the tank pressure slowly dropped, when the tank was still above 50 PSI but below around 100 PSI, I noticed the tool pressure drifted slightly higher than expected — maybe by around 5 PSI. Honestly, I think this is normal. I’ve seen small pressure variations even with my larger compressor when filling or bleeding air. What I really appreciate is that this compressor is convenient, relatively quiet, and much less noisy than my big 20-gallon compressor. You can comfortably stand near it while it’s running. It’s also lightweight and extremely easy to carry through doorways and around the house. I’ll be using it a lot for trim work during room renovations, and it’s also a very handy setup for general garage use. As far as price versus value goes, I think it’s a solid compressor. I was a little surprised that it costs about the same as the larger 20-gallon compressor I bought years ago — I expected something smaller like this to be cheaper. Still, despite that, it’s a good product, practical, portable, and very convenient to use. Recommended.

I like that this 6-gallon pancake air compressor from CRAFTSMAN is portable and easy to move around. Despite its sturdy construction, it's light enough to carry from the garage to different work areas using the built-in handle. It was also easy to remove from the packaging and came with a useful 10-piece accessory kit, so I had everything I needed to get started. The compressor delivers a steady, consistent airflow and has worked well with my pneumatic tools as well as for inflating tires. It builds pressure quickly and recovers fast enough for typical DIY projects around the house, making it a versatile addition to my workshop. One thing to keep in mind is that it is fairly loud while running. That's pretty typical for this style of air compressor, so it wasn't unexpected, but it's something to be aware of if you're working in an enclosed space or noise is a concern. I also appreciate the oil-free design, which means there's very little maintenance to worry about. The dual gauges are easy to read, and the controls are straightforward, even if you're not using an air compressor every day. Overall, this is a well-made, reliable air compressor that's easy to transport, simple to use, and performs well for a variety of home and workshop tasks. It's a solid choice for DIYers looking for a dependable compressor that comes ready to use with a nice assortment of accessories.

Craftsman is a name that, for those of us who grew up in the 60’s, always meant quality. I’m still using Craftsman tools I purchased 50 years ago. Before Sears went under, their quality took a sharp dive. The brand was picked up by Black and Decker in 2017 and, although the scope of their offerings has shrunk from the original company, the quality has, again, improved. Black and Decker is one of the largest tool manufacturers in the world. Their lines include DeWalt, Black and Decker, Stanley, Porter Cable, Troy Built, Mac Tools, Bostich, Proto and others. This compressor is virtually identical to the Porter Cable model of the same capacity. It’s quieter than my old compressor and being oilless requires less maintenance. It recovers fast enough for my mostly DIY home and shop projects and I suspect would be fine for a commercial job site where an easily portable, reasonable capacity compressor is required. Full Disclosure: I acquired this as a Vine user. While we pay nothing up front for products, it is counted as taxable income at the retail price. This generally means Vine members pay about 20% of retail in taxes. We take our reviewing seriously and endeavor to assess quality to the best of our abilities. This is an OK air compressor, very typical of this style. It's a good quality product. From empty it takes just under 3 minutes to fill completely. Its not at all quiet, measuring well over 90 dB, enough that hearing protection is required. For reference this is in the same range as a lawn mower or power saw. The 2.6 cfm @ 90 PSI is sufficient for most air tools but probably not enough for paint spraying or other high volume applications, but very typical of this style compressor. None of these things are true negatives because most compressors of this style have similar specifications. I've owned and used a few of them. Very handy portability with enough air for most applications on a construction site, at least for a single worker. Its perfect for a handy home owner like me. The accessory kit that comes with it is serviceable not up to the quality of the compressor. The hose is stiff and kinks. It comes with a blow gun, air chuck and tire pressure gauge. There are fittings for the hose, but oddly it's short one male, so there's not enough for both the blow gun and tire chuck. The blow gun and tire chuck aren't great quality, they are serviceable but not nicely made. I'm happy to have this compressor, it's much handier than larger horizontal units and will work well with my nail guns, filling tires and for blowing the water from of my outdoor plumbing. It's a good quality product, there is no reason not to purchase this if the price is right. But plan on getting a hose and the basic accessories separately.

I knew from experience that this was going to be a quality product, and after using it for a while I was right. The awesome fact is the compactness of this compressor as it will fit under my flush mounted bed cover on my truck. It stands a little less than 20". Even though it's small, it still packs a punch. It comes with most of the tools a typical DYI person needs. It takes up almost no space in the garage which is awesome. The hose is a bit on the stiff side, but it's pretty high quality so it should hold up for years to come even after dragging it around corners or across gravel. it also has two couplers right out of the box which is convenient when using two different air tools, or sharing the work with someone else. It's also lightweight which makes it super easy to load and unload it from your vehicle or taking it upstairs. The regulator is very easy to adjust and seems to hold the setting well, even after long periods. It may be on the pricier side, but the Craftsman quality in my opinion is well worth it.
