I tried using the old ones to save effort, but that didn’t fly. As a bonus, this one opens and closes a bit faster. I was able to pair this opener with my 10 year old car without a hitch. I thought when I was taking this out of the box it was gonna be hard....it's wasn't. If u take ur time it's pretty easy. Would recommend 2 people but u can do it alone with a ladder. Love the wifi and the new Wi-Fi wireless keypad..

Unit looks good, works great, installs relatively easy. New models will not work with older wall buttons, or older car integrated operators. Will not sync.

Great garage door opener! Take your time installing and make sure there’s no binding in the belt tensioner. Looks slick in red too, I have no regrets buying this and would recommend to anyone needing a single door opener.

After 18 years, my old craftsman 1/2Hp opener gave up the ghost so I removed it and installed this one. Everything went fine with installation… no problems. Then when I plugged it into power and began the programming portion of the installation, it started to work and then stopped. Tech-support was horrible. The techs Spoke very poor English, were obviously reading from a script and clearly had no knowledge of the product. As of tonight, I don’t have a working garage door and will likely have to pay to have a different opener installed. Complete waste of money. I will never buy another garage door opener from Amazon. What a nightmare!

The media could not be loaded. There were some issues with the owner's manual. They neglected to mention a few pertinent facts about the installation - the manual neglected to mention that the "trolley threaded shaft" is "keyed" and needed to be oriented correctly for it to fit in the orifice in the tab on the trolley. This may seem like a minor thing, but when a person is under pressure to complete a task within a certain time frame, this sort of thing is incredibly frustrating. Details matter! (its worth mentioning another customer mentioned the chamberlain manual was much better than Craftsman for some reason) [This product is rebrand and manufactured by Chamberlain Group]. They also failed to identify the learn button for the procedure of "programming a new remote" to the garage door opener (does it hurt to write the function of the button directly on opener?). It DOES identify the learn button under the "myQ Smartphone Control" section. This to me appears to be a subtle manipulation on the manufactures part to emphasize the use of the WIFI capabilities over traditional access methods. WIFI devices are accessible via the internet ya know... They also neglected to mention what type of technology these openers use for remotes which is "Security+ 2.0" which is not natively compatible with "Homelink" devices. You have to spend more money for a bridge for that. Not worth $35 in my opinion... A good company does not try slyly manipulate it's customers by careful omission of pertinent facts in order to "make the sale." Very Asian style business tactics... The neglected to install rubber shock absorbers for the motor mount which is why it rattles and hums when it operates... The track for the opener is not stiff enough, they should have included bolts to secure the sections together. Those tabs are not enough! If you're not careful the trolley will misalign with the door coupler and can potential damage the door or the track! You have to babysit that thing when it is disengaged! Customer service is abysmal - they did their best to avoid responsibility for quality issues with their products. The voice menu was infuriating to say the least, repeating questions over and over again. I could barely hear the customer service agent the sound quality was incredibly awful! She was not the most sympathetic person either. Companies do not stand by their products anymore. They find weaselly legal loopholes to avoid liability and leave the customer footing the bill. Also, they need to include a dip switch to physically disable WIFI, which is a terrible security hole for access to the home if you ask me! I will attach a video of the rattle and hum from the opener! I think I paid too much for this opener, especially considering I will need to make modifications for it to function properly. Make no mistake - corporations these days do not respect the needs/ wants/ rights of consumers. They have too much power, they have no incentive to care. Who actually owns the craftsman brand? Talk about rabbit holes!
