I was excited to received this, as it was going to be a fun project for my family to do together. When it came, I knew immediately what I would find inside when I picked it up. Sure enough, the carboy was smashed, glass all over the inside of the box. So I contacted customer service and received a quick reply apologizing and letting me know they were putting together a new package to send out... with a different shipping carrier too! It just arrived this morning, intact, and I am so happy. We can't wait to get this project going! It's a great kit, with pretty much everything we need, minus the honey... But really .. step by step instructions and all! I'm local to Florida, and with as great as this shop has been it will be an easy choice to continue to order from them. Thank you so much guys!!!

I bought the "deluxe" kit for $79+. It's a pretty complete kit to get started. You can get by with your first batch by just adding honey and water. The instructions are simplified for the beginner. Everything arrived and was unbroken. The tube for the hydrometer could use a base of some sort that will let it stand by itself while testing. You might want to purchase a second carboy so you can rack it at least once before bottling. Overall, very satisfied. I'd give it 4 and a half stars if it would let me.

This was my first journey into the world of mead-making, and Craft a Brew’s Deluxe Mead Kit made it feel like I was forging something legendary. The instructions were clear, the materials solid, and everything arrived safely except for a small crack in the auto-siphon cane. I contacted Craft a Brew and they replied quickly, proving they honor their customers like any good clan should. I also appreciated that the company supports clean water initiatives — a noble cause worthy of a toast. My first batch has already begun to stir and come alive, and I’m excited to see how it turns out. Craft a Brew has definitely earned a lifelong customer… inmead. My husband is exited to get started! For what it is it's a good deal as it comes with all the tools necessary to start making mead, a smaller kit that can gradually expand into a larger hobby with larger capacities. Worth getting.
