Definitely gets the job done
We bought this because the ice maker in our refrigerator died and we didn't want to spend a fortune to repair it. This little unit does a really good job. I built up a bunch of ice over two days and now run it every three or four days to replace what we have used. There's only two of us so it only takes about six hours to accomplish that. The unit is pretty quiet. The first batch of cubes when starting are always smaller but are normal-sized from then on. We make the large cubes as those are smaller than what you get from your fridge icemaker. However, they work just fine. Once it gets going, it seems to produce each batch in about 6-7 minutes. The little bucket is full and needs to be emptied after about 40 minutes. We have hard water so I run some vinegar and water through it on the self-cleaning cycle after a few times of operation. Pretty easy and should keep it working into the future. I follow their advice and drain it and wipe it out after use. I also leave the door open overnight to help air it out. So far, I haven't noticed any mold trying to grow. All in all, I think this one's a keeper. ... show more

Not bad, but not great

Been using this for a couple months or so and at first it was very quiet, but now is a bit noisier. Works fine, makes ice quickly. It's very small, so only makes enough ice for about 2 16oz glasses, which is fine for me. A bit of annoyance is when the basket is full, the light goes on and it won't make any more ice until it either melts below the sensor or I push the ice down into the basket. I think the sensor is a bit too sensitive as if there is even a tiny bit of ice in the sensor, it stops making ice leaving you with a bunch of half melted slushy ice bits. I always have to keep an eye on the water level, though as I go through a lot of ice and have to refill it at least twice a day. It has an indicator light for when it needs refilling, however I've only seen it light up once. The only way I know to refill (between times i check it) it is when it makes a whiney noise. The water level is very low, and the light should come on, but it doesn't. Does the water level need to be so low that the water pump starts overheating and seizing up before it'll light up? Maybe the one i have is defective? 🤔 I'll keep using it despite all the above, I just think there is room for improvement in its functioning. ... show more

Very good ice maker

I have only had this for a few days, replaced a different type, but it set up very easily and makes ice really fast and I love the ice it makes. It is quiet and doesn’t take up much counter space. It needs to be close to a sink so it can be drained for cleaning. Super easy to see the water level and easy to add water. Good or maybe a fair price. This thing is awesome! I have a sensitivity to flouride. It somehow affects my thyroid negatively and makes me physical sick, so I can’t drink tap or regular filtered water. I drink water all day everyday and it has to be filtered by reverse osmosis. Most water filter devices in fridges and Brita don’t use reverse osmosis so I can’t use that water to drink or make ice. I have to make ice using bottled water in trays which is annoying and irritating. I finally bought this and wasn’t sure about one of the reviews which stated that it was “soft ice” and melts rather quickly and doesn’t keep drinks cold for long. That may be the case if you’re using regular cups and room temperature drinks, but I use an insulated bottles all day and I figured I’d try keeping a cold bottle of water in fridge so the ice would last longer. But I did notice the bullet ice cubes are thinner than I expected and the ice stayed in my insulated cup for hours. I took pictures of how thick they are. Hopefully you can see it. And also wanted to state that it made that whole bag of ice in my picture in 8 hours. I just kept emptying the basket when it was full into the provided bag; it will stop making ice when it’s full so you have to empty it if you want it to keep making ice. I now have a big bag of ice I can use without having to crack and twist trays lol. I LOVE THIS THING! I’ve only had it a day so hopefully it keeps going strong for a while. 😁 ... show more

Nice ice maker. works good in the lower bay of my RV for outside ice. Makes good ice and fast. easy to clean. running out west in 90 plus degree weather the storage bays must have been hot and it had no problems. Pretty portable so taking it to a party will not be a problem. The silicon drain plug in the bottom could be designed a little better but overall vary happy. ... show more

It’s pretty small which i prefer because I don’t like a cluttered countertop but so it’s the ice. The machine makes a full basket of ice within 30-45 minutes so it works pretty fast. It has a self cleaning option. The machine comes in other colors and it makes noise at all times but very low. The ice is pretty small and hollow in the middle so it melts faster than fridge ice maker ice. I am not sure if I would repurchase for the current price though.
