I am not sure why I waited so long to purchase an icemaker. Finally made the decision and after reading several reviews on different sites we selected this one. We love it!! It was a simple setup and is easy to use! My favorite feature is the selection of small or large ice cubes. They come out an excellent size and its nice to have fresh ice for drinks versus old ice that sits in your freezer open. Especially if you have well water like us! We put the ice into ziploc bags to keep it fresh and also put a small freezer pack in the machine when we are making ice so we don't have to empty it several times when making batches. If you are buying bags of ice at the grocery store, then I would advise getting this machine. Our U-line ice maker finally died after 20 years. Didn’t feel like spending over $3,000 on a new U-line so we thought we’d give it a try. Glad we did. It took about 24 hours to fill the bucket. It is very quiet. The ice is good quality and doesn’t melt very fast. This is a freezer unit, unlike a lot you find here on Amazon, so no drain hose needed. Our 5 year old KitchenAid died and hated it anyway. Ran continuously which cost me water and wasted ice. Found this one that has a freezer and just stops when the bucket is full. Unit is super quiet except when ice drops. It makes crescent cubes like most refrigerator freezers. Very happy with my purchase. Got the extended warranty because made in China. ... show more

This ice maker is simple and easy to install. My refrigerator ice maker stopped as usual for Samsung. Instead of paying to repair it, I bought this ice maker. It is in my basement rather than in my kitchen, but it is also a great improvement over my small ice maker. I have transferred ice from this machine to the ice bin in my kitchen.
