This portable air conditioner is absolutely perfect for my master bedroom! My windows are an odd size so we had to do some modifications to the window venting but after those it works just perfect - it holds the temperature, is quiet and small enough not to be obtrusive. I am so grateful as we have had record setting temps here in Washington State and it was extremely hot in the bedroom. Delivery took longer than expected but that was the fault of the carrier not Amazon nor the vendor. I suspect it had to do with the weather.     • Perfect for the hot summer days
The media could not be loaded. Compact in size but that did not affect the cooling capabilities of this small unit. We did have to install a hose to go outside a window in order to use this unit, but that was expected as with all air conditioner units otherwise it will just blow back hot air into the room. Works well in cooling my apartment and making this weather more tolerable. I love that this unit has multiple functions, cooling, dehumidifier and a fan function.     • Nice little cooling AC

This is our second summer using these portable AC units. We bought two. One for upstairs master bedroom and one for downstairs living room. We live in New England and don't have central AC. This is my first time living in a home without central AC. These units are great for those New England days that get into the upper 80's and 90's. So they don't get run that often. Probably less than 30 days per year and only a few hours on those days. The only reason I give it 4 stars is because the units are quirky. Turning on the power button somehow kicked one into "Dehumidifying" mode instead of staying in "Cool" mode. And somehow, I have locked the controls for the upstairs one. It only turns on with the remote instead of being able to use the power button on the machine itself. I probably hit the wrong sequence of buttons. I need to check the manual again.     • Three months and it's pouring buckets

We got three months out of this unit. And even during those three months the room still wasn't as cool as we thought it should be. If it had continued to give us that, then I'd be fine for the cost of the unit but that's not the case. This thing is pouring out at least three gallons of water a day. The first time it blew out the drain plug instead of shutting down and ruined my hardwood floor. Now, we run it with the unit sitting in a plastic tray (how's that tacky view) with the drain hose going into a bucket. Thankfully I work from home so I can continuously check and empty the bucket. I'm in the Northeast so it's not like I'm dealing with southern humidity and I have a Black & Decker on the second floor (heat rises) that has never needed to be drained. Save a little more and spend it on a better unit. ... show more

    • Pretty good but not the best
Pros: Not too heavy, cools fine, three modes, has a remote control, easy install (although my old-house/storm window set up meant I needed to set the insert panel on a piece of wood so the hose connector opening was high enough, not the product’s fault), fairly intuitive operation. Cons: noisy, doesn’t cool as well as I’d expect a 10,000 BTU unit to work, short power cord, the plug to drain the condensation is far too low to the floor so you can’t get anything useful underneath it to catch the water in. That’s fine if you can wheel it to an outside door or shower but if you can’t do that you have to use some ingenuity to drain it. It’s OK but not the best one I’ve ever bought. ... show more

    • COOLS a large space when you add a fan!
We have had record-setting high temps this summer and we needed a great air-conditioner for the large general living area where we spend most of our time. With the addition of a swinging fan (also from Amazon) it has been a real blessing! Day one of day four of the horrible PNW heatwave… it came this afternoon and the room, hallway, and room nearby are already considerably cooler. Our son is autistic and heat really bothers him, so we got this unit for his room and area of our home. It does the job, he’s so happy the 90 degree heat is tolerable with it, so we definitely are happy with this purchase!
