I had bought the 11' version of this tarp, after reading reviews and hearing some feedback from others on some hammock camping forums that it should "work" with my 11' Dutchware Chameleon. Well, "work" is a relative term. It covered the hammock, but only just. The gathered ends of the hammock were only a couple of inches within the smaller tarp, the actual continuous loops on the end were left about two-thirds exposed which was just begging for rain to run down. My guess is that the suggestions were based more on weight savings than actual utility. Perhaps for backpacking the smaller tarp (hence why I haven't sold it) may be OK. Outside of a downpour or long steady rain, it would probably keep you and the hammock (mostly) dry for a short overnight stay. But most of my camping is usually 2-3 nights or more, and I needed something that would be a more reliable shelter. After two recent trips, both of which saw some good rain showers, I can report that this tarp did a more than admirable job of keeping me and my hammock dry. There are no seams down the middle of the tarp, and the few that exist along the sides for the tie-outs are very well sealed with a generous amount of seam tape. On my 2nd trip it rained probably 4-5 times over the span of the weekend and didn't see a drop of water around the inside of the tie outs. There is also plenty of room inside this tarp if you arrange it like a tent. I stand just under 6' tall and could set the tarp up at a good height that insured good protection from the elements and also gave me plenty of room to maneuver for getting dressed, and left plenty of room for my backpack underneath as well. I can't rave enough. I've used mine several times in the POURING rain and stayed bone dry, even while my group was swamped in their tents. Super easy to set up if you watch the video. I bought another for my son.

Only used for two nights so far. Night 1 used in "tent mode" and I was TOASTY warm with the underquilt and over quilt. Night 2 I pulled back the corners and used it as a hexagon tarp and the added airflow made the smell much more comfortable. This tarp is 1 foot longer and 1 foot wider than my previous tarp with 4 additional corners worth of material (this is a rectangle, previous was hexagon)... that ads up to AT LEAST 20 more usable square feet of coverage. It has 8 additional guy out tabs (you'll need more rope though), and the ability to completely close off everything but underneath the hammock. Even with all of that it is listed as only 1 oz heavier than my previous tarp. I can tell you it feels lighter through. The two reasons this is not getting a 5 star review: 1) Quality control. I found 1 hole from sewing on a tie out point. The seem is taped so it should allow minimal drippage but still a noticable concern. 2) The middle section guy out tabs to turn it into more of a cabin pentagon shape would be made more useful with a grommet on the lower tab. This would allow campers to use short tent poles to increase headroom without having to use additional cordage. Positives: Light weight Large coverage Lots of tie out points Multiple configurations Shock cord on tabs is smart to keep the tarp from ripping in wind. Shock cord is cheap and easy to replace. I do a lot of cyce touring and sleep in a hammock. I bought this tarp to replace a heavier one. The tarp is lightweight and easily compressesto fit in the bag. I also bought the snakeskin from Onewind which makes it so much easier to deploy and pack up. I can fit the tarp in the snakeskin, with all my lines attached to the tarp in the sack that came with the tarp. Everything fits except for the stakes. I took the tarp on an overnight bike trip. It rained off and on all through the night with some strong wind gusts sometimes. I stayed dry through all the rain, plus the tarp is large enough that I fit my bike under it next to my hammock. I would highly recommend this tarp, and the snakeskin to anyone. ... show more

I have yet to buy a product from OneWind that was a disappointment. Three hammocks, two tarps, gear slings, four peak slings, bug nets, tarp sleeves- all great and competing very well with bespoke gear I have that cost 4 times as much.

I expected this hammock to last a long longer with excellent care. I’m excited 💥🎤🫶🏼
