  • Philodendron of my dreams
Style: Pink Princess Philodendron Pattern Name: Plant
I've wanted a Pink Princess Philodendron for a while and when I saw Costa Farms had one for around $30 I jumped on it. I'm glad I did. I've ordered from Costa Farms a few times and the packaging always ensures that the plant babies arrive safely. No torn or broken leaves and BEAUTIFUL variegation. I couldn't be more pleased! My PPP specimen arrived safe and sound ahead of her expected delivery date, and she's already big and beautiful for only coming in a 6 inch pot. My only regret is not ordering two! ... show more

  • Beautiful plant!
Style: Pink Princess Philodendron Pattern Name: Plant
I am SO happy with this purchase! I The Pink Princess was one of my wish list plants, so I got it for myself for my birthday. It arrived a few days sooner than expected. It was thoughtfully packaged; paper filled all the open space in the box, and a heat pad was saran wrapped around the pot. There was one broken leaf (10 o'clock position in the photo) and a minimal amount of dirt spilled inside the box, but what do you expect when shipping a live potted plant?? The plant itself arrived in great condition. The roots were well-developed and healthy, as was the gorgeous foliage. I gave it a little water, trimmed the broken leaf, and put it with some friends. 2 weeks later now, and she's thriving! The new leaf pictured finished unfurling, and there's another new one ready to come out any day now. This was my first plant ordered for delivery, and my expectations were exceeded. ... show more

  • Beautiful Plant, Damaged Pot
Style: Medium Raven® ZZ Zamioculcas ‘Dowon’ Pattern Name: Plant
The raven zz arrived looking happy with only a few blemishes, one leaf looks ripped/eaten, one leaf has a hole in the middle. Also a couple of small stems weren't rooted when I did the tug test and came right up out of the soil, and one of them was rotted. I put the one that wasn't rotted in water to try to propagate some roots. Overall, it appears to be a healthy and strongly rooted plant. It's really beautiful! It is also bigger than I expected. I anticipate it will do well. The cover pot, however, looks like they pulled it out of the garbage can and shipped it. It's cracked in a large U shape and has paint gobs on the bottom and inside of the pot. While the packaging for the plant itself inside of the nursery pot was done well, the cover pot is shoved in the bottom of the box with no protection. It is also so snug in there it's hard to pull the cover pot out of the box. My guess is that's the reason for the cracked pot, it really needs a wider box and some cushioning. Four and a half stars for the plant, zero for the cover pot. Edited: The company replaced the damaged pot free of charge, however, they sent me a new pot that is too small. ... show more

  • Nice enough plant
Style: Pink Princess Philodendron Pattern Name: Plant
Just received this plant and I'm still on the fence around the experience. I knew from reading the reviews that it would be a bit of luck on the quality of the plant received. The plant I received was actually two stems in one pot which was awesome. One stem is beautifully variegated with pink marbling. The other stem is pretty much all green. Since the second stem was not expected I can't be too mad 😅 but I would've loved to have more consistent coloration between the two plants for a more cohesive look. Shipping really did a number on this plant. Granted it went from Florida to California so I guess I can only expect so much for this poor plant to spend days confined in a box. They did enclose a heat pouch so I'm sure that helped it survive better since shipping took quite a few days. The box arrived intact and undamaged but the plant had about 4-5 broken leaves so looks quite bare right now compared to the images I see in other reviews. While most were the baby leaves the newest pink marbled leaf was basically shriveled and dead which made me suuuuuper sad. Only time will tell how this plant will rebound/survive after it's shipping ordeal. Some of the leaves feel very thin/dehydrated and the substrate was bone dry when I received it so hopefully it didn't go too far in shipping. Crossing my fingers! ... show more

  • Beautiful Plant - Easy to grow
Style: Medium Raven® ZZ Zamioculcas ‘Dowon’ Pattern Name: Plant
I picked up this exact same Costa Farms plant at HD....Ended up absolutely falling in love with it and went back to buy a few more....Unfortunately there were no more. Luckily (thank you Amazon) I found them here. Costa Farms plants are VERY well packaged. The soil is secured with a plastic film (like the kitchen wrap stuff) around the grower pot before being placed into the decorative cache pot. The decorative pot is then secured with a cardboard wrap to further secure the pot, soil and keep the base of the plant from shifting. Then, it is placed into a cardboard insert that secures the pot in place preventing it from moving. All that is put into the shipping box that is made of a nice sturdy cardboard. Now let's get to shipping---More specifically, how it is handled when it is shipped- ay, there's the rub! This is where it is a crap shoot. Will they treat my plant with aloha or not? I think it depends on who happens to be working the day your plant goes through their hands. There are the people that take pride in what they do-even though you will never see their hard work behind the scenes...they see the clear markings on the box and they know it is precious cargo for someone. And then, there is always that one turd that sees that it is a plant and get personal satisfaction from doing everything they can to destroy the contents. Case in point, I ordered one plant one day and then two more about two days later. The first plant arrived. Box appeared intact, but you could see soil sticking to the box tape-you could hear the disheartening sound of broken ceramic pieces inside. Opened the box and the plant looked like it had been dropped in a blender. THIS does not happen with ordinary handling. Upon closer inspection, you could see some dents in the corner on the bottom of the box...it looks like the box was probably dropped straight down so the flat side would hit the ground...it must have been done a few times...because the cache pot bottom looks like it was forced up into the plant and broke-the top of the cache pot basically switched placed with the bottom by breaking in half. ********************Now the second delivery of two plants in two separate boxes. (Key up the peaceful instrumental music here.) Perfect. Not a bit of soil out of place. Every. Single. Individual. Stalk. Was. Perfect. It was like I went to the store and picked it out myself. This plant is beautiful. Costa Farms is an excellent company. There is a chance that your plant will be handled roughly. Now it's your turn to decide to roll the dice. In the meantime, I am going to order a couple more. ... show more
