We've had our range hood installed for about 2 weeks now and are very happy with it! It works much better than the old model it replaced (no idea on CFMs or age of that thing but it was time for a replacement, ha). This thing is also BEAUTIFUL which was a big selling point for me. I love that it has buttons only and no digital clock or touch pad... less potential for malfunctions down the road, plus I already have digital clocks on my microwave, coffee maker, and oven all within a foot of each other and this range hood... I can't tell you how glad I am not to have an extra clock to reset every time the power goes out lol. This is very quiet on the first setting, still relatively quiet on medium, and creates a decent bit of noise on the highest setting but you are moving a lot of air at that point so I think it's well in line with what I'd expect for the performance. Suction has been impressive to me on all settings, and we haven't had any issues with rattling. It isn't heavy as far as these things go, but it was still a bit of a beast to install as DIYers just because of the nature of the item and location you're putting it (my husband and I did this while I was 8 months pregnant so it's quite doable for the DIY crowd, just not EASY). Definitely recommend two people for install if you're not a pro, and using the box and styrofoam packaging to prop it up while you work helps a lot. Oh and as some others mentioned- yes, it was a pain to peel off the protective film but it was totally worth it to me to have a product that is in pristine shape and undamaged, I peeled while watching TV and it was fine. In the end I'm very happy with the item and would recommend!

Overall quite satisfied so far with this unit! Cost per CFM was the best I was able to find. Installation was fairly straightforward. I gave 4 stars instead of 5 simply because I have installed other units in the past that have a simple paper or something similar with the proper measurements that you can trace or stick to the wall in order to make everything easier for mounting, and this didn’t have anything like that- just directions. But the directions were clear, and the installation wasn’t to difficult, so it’s a minor note. I DO recommend a two person install, though. Much easier than trying to do it all by yourself. Several others have noted vibrations or other sounds happening outside of the norm, but in our case, no such issues seem to be happening. However, I did purchase a solid adapter for the vent and used it instead of the flexible one included, as recommended by a couple of the other reviewers. That said, performance seems great, sound isn’t outside of expectation, and the simple push button controls and wonderfully bright LED’s are all excellent!

This hood has worked great for us. The installation was moderately hard but not worth calling someone to do it for you. It is really nice looking. The lights are nice and bright. The suction is adequate. You can only hear it in the next room on high. In the kitchen, you can talk to others on medium. The bottom vents remove for cleaning. I wish they fit a little tighter, but they won't fall off. Overall, I would buy it again.

The product is great! My home health environment has completely changed with this product. I wish that I would have had a vented hood a long time ago. When cooking now, my smoke detectors do not go off in the house. Furthermore, my whole house does not fill up with the grease and food smell as before with a recirculating filer. Last, I am grateful because I am not having the harmful combustion gas staying in my home when cooking. Installation was rater straightforward, and for someone who works with tools this will be easy. Vibrations were am issue and not exactly sure how to completely get rid of them...possibly with rubber dampers between the cabinet and hood? For me I drilled in a few extra holes to secure the hood in extra locations which helped drastically with the noise issue. I also noticed after running the unit for a while that some of the vibes and noise issues were worked out.

This seems to have been engineered for Ik-vomit-ea boxes. It's impossible to mount it flush to the bottom of real cabinets. This hood is assembled with rivets. The rivet heads protrude above the hood's primary assembly. Also, rivet heads stick out the back of the hood. It will not go flush to the cabinet above, nor the wall behind the hood. Plus, the mounting hole locations are placed about 1 inch from edge. Face-frame cabinets use 3/4 inch stock with about a 3/4 inch space under the cabinets' box. Wood fillers must be installed under a typical, quality cabinet box, but there is very little space for mounting screws to get any bite. I used #10 Stainless Steel washers for more purchase. My biggest complaint is the location of the 6" duct on the top of the hood. It's less than the required distance needed to clear the back of a decent cabinet. It should be, at least, 1.25 inches from the back of the hood. Without sufficient spacing for the 6" plastic exhaust exiting the top of the hood, the exhaust vent will NOT align with typical 6" round duct. Unforgivable. Very poor engineering, throughout. Removing some plastic from the edge of the damper with 80 grit sandpaper, gave it enough clearance. Prior to my sandpaper adjustment, the damper was pinched and would not open on any of the fan's speed settings. Very bad. I removed the light assembly, two screws, to facilitate the removal of the blue protection film. Doing so, revealed a broken wire keeper and mis-routed wire assemblies. Easy fix, if you know what should be tied and how to properly secure wires that carry 110 Volts. Besides all the previously mentioned foibles, IT'S A HALF INCH SHY OF 30 INCHES. That's a quarter inch on both sides. Ridiculous. Every over-the-oven cabinet is a full 30 inches. Duh. The lights are bright enough. The finish is OK. The suction seems adequate and the noise level is on par with a solid-ducted hood. I did not use the included flex-duct. Plug-in to 110 Volts, instead of hard-wired, is a new Safety Nanny feature, I guess. I don't like it. I would not recommend this hood. I would not buy it, again, given 20-20 hindsight. My Gal liked the style, so I bought it, of course. I adjusted, accordingly, knowing it would be a custom install. However, I wasn't anticipating such a rude piece of junk.

Our over the range microwave broke after 5 years. I didnt want to replace it with another microwave so we decided to add an over the range ducted hood. Installation took me about 2-3 hours since i had to cut my cabinet to line up the round duct. The item came padded and boxed up pretty nice. I visually inspected the hood and didnt see any shipping damage. It did take me awhile to remove all the blue anti-scratch tape that is comes with from the factory. After installing and turning it on, its pretty loud on all 3 levels. Its hard to have a conversation if someone is in the kitchen with you while this is on. The built in LED lights work well and light up the range pretty good. Now on to the reason why i bought it.....i assumed 380CFM would be sufficient to remove cooking smoke/smells. Well its not, my whole house still smells like I cooked in every room. I added a paper towel to the top of the baffles to see if it would suck it against the baffles...it didnt! This blower isnt even strong enough to keep the paper towel from falling back down. I thought maybe the baffles are the problem? I removed them and then tried to see if i can keep the paper towel stuck directly to the blower....nope.....it held on for a few seconds then it fell back down. As it stands....the hood feels more like an ornament then anything else. It doesn't really suck that much air. I may return it and try to find something in with 500CFM to 800CFM. 380cfm does not cut it! Not sure if i got a bad blower? It just doesnt do what its designed to do.

We just finished installing this sucker (literally it sucks out nasty grease-filled air out of our house). We previously had a microwave that would just recirculate the air in the house and its probably why we found the curtains the previous owner had with greasy feels to it. Just about everything in this house, had like a weird greasy residue on it. Anyways, It was quite the project since we had to open a hole in our cinderblock wall of the house in order to get the airflow to go outside, but it's well worth it. Sucking out that greasy air is the only way to go, if you want a nice-smelling home and not covered in greasy residue. I did some extensive research on hood fans and this one was well-priced and certainly enough for our kitchen, so we went with this one from Cosmo. So far, it works great. Has three levels of fan speed and the lights are certainly enough for everyday needs. Save yourself from getting something overpriced and overpowered and get this for your average home's kitchen. Oh. Very informative- this comes with a flexible duct that extends well over 2 feet from what I remember (Probably closer to 3 feet and over). This made installation so much easier considering we had to open a hole in our cabinet and wall.
