One of the hardest things, that sooner or later we are all forced to do is re-evaluate a judgement call we have made. Particularly if that re-evaluation leaves us in that most lonely position where we have to admit to ourselves that we were wrong. It is a galgotha moment that leaves us on that confused mountain where God prays alone. This ukulele has taught me a lesson, that everything in life tries to teach me daily: do not be quick to judge. I didn’t like it, didn’t like the way it looked, felt the sound was unresponsive and flat. Therefore I abused it. Wailed on it to make it loud.....even left it outside on the covered patio in freezing weather and snow storms. Didn’t give a fiddler’s fornication for it. I hurt it to extremes. If it was a sentient entity I could be arrested and prosecuted for the negligence and abusive way I treated it. Yet it was always there and playable. It challenged me to make it sing. I was wrong..... The Córdoba 15TM is actually a pretty good ukulele, it is like a timex watch, it takes a licken and keeps on ticken. The challenge is on the player, not the uke. The 15TM is a better ukulele than I am a player, or even a human being, since between the walls, me, and God, when no one else is around it has become the ukulele I reach for.

This was a little bit of an upgrade for me, from the ADM Concert Mahogany. I bought two of them, for me and a friend. I did have to return one of these, because there was very noticeable buzz on all 4 strings through the 1st 6 frets (no buzz with open strings), making it unplayable. I tried raising the saddle by a substantial amount, but still had unplayable buzz, and the action became so high that I did not want to raise it any more. I could have sanded down the frets, but did not want to make a permanent change on a uke that I just bought. Luckily, I bought this from Amazon! :-) I was able to return it, and got a replacement. The 1st uke on the 1st order sounds perfect, and the replacement sounds perfect as well. So I am very happy now. Make sure your uke does not buzz after tuning, esp with a uke that should be decent quality like this one.. This is my 2nd concert size uke. I like the concert uke for the size and the tone. It has a warm tone, even more than my previous concert uke (ADM concert Mahogany, i have 2 as well). The ADM is also very good, and some may like the brighter sound, but I prefer the warmer sound that the Cordoba gives me. Construction is flawless (Cordoba is a very good guitar maker), and it is a very pretty uke. Comparing it to the concert ADM: Using lower frets they sound very similar and equally good. Like I said, the ADM has a brighter tone and the Cordoba a warmer tone. It's a matter of taste. Using higher frets, the quality of the Cordoba comes out more, because the strings are better in tune than when using the ADM (with action being equal on both). If you only strum on low frets, then this won't matter to you, and you can save money with the ADM. But the ADM flaws become noticeable after you have been playing a while, start using higher frets, and then get the urge to upgrade (like me). So the Cordoba may be more of an initial investment, but it will last you longer as you continue to grow with you new uke, as it is better quality. So after a year of playing, I'm ready for the next level, but don't want to dish out $200+ to upgrade my ADM to a much higher level that I don't need. If i had started with the Cordoba, that should be good for me for a lifetime (unless i miraculously turned pro), Please note (bc I read this complaint a lot), on this and all ukes, and all stringed instruments.... It will not be tuned when you get it. And when you tune it, it will instantly go out of tune again. It needs constant tuning at first, and is unplayable. This will gradually slow down to the point where you only need to tune it every couple of minutes. And then every 15 minutes, then every hour. And then every few hours, and then every day, etc.... Eventually you will get the strings stretched to the point where they settle and don't need tuning for about a week or two. More or less depending on how much you practice and how much you care. If you are giving a uke as a gift, please let them know that they will have to tune constantly for the first few days and need to play it to stretch the strings, but it will get better. After 1-2 weeks of daily playing, they should be settled. But will still require tuning once in a while whether due to temp or humiidty or time.

I first considered the Cordoba concert ukulele because it was on every list of the best beginner ukes, and I am so happy with my choice! It took about a week to stretch the strings and stay in tune, but the Cordoba sounds amazing. My daughter has a cheaper soprano uke and the Cordoba has a noticeably clearer sound and is much lighter weight. It just feels great in my hands. I tried some no-drill straps, but ultimately chose to add a strap button with no problem. I saw some reviews about quality control issues on the finish, and I did find a rough spot on the back (see photo). This was not an issue for me, but I'd suggest checking for this. Otherwise, I love everything about my Cordoba ukulele and highly recommend it for beginners. From my experience so far, it's worth spending a little more to get a quality instrument.

I have owned a dozen ukuleles, of all sizes, but mostly tenors: Sold some, gifted some, kept one. The Cordoba 15TM tenor is an excellent uke and a great value. Perfect? Nope, I haven't found the perfect tenor ukulele. The Cordoba has excellent tone and sustain, it's attractive, solid construction and finished. But, the reason that I purchased this one was really the 1 1/2" "nut" or width of the top fret. There's a ukulele on the market with a 1 3/4" (1.75") nut but that is way too wide for me to play comfortably, it's equal to a guitar neck/nut width. Check out the other reviewers, most are thrilled with this instrument, you can add me to that list; with the caveat that the perfect tenor ukulele is still out there somewhere.

I purchased both a tenor and (previously) a concert version of the Cordoba ukulele. The Cordobas came HIGHLY recommended by a musician friend who has been playing ukulele for many years and I can see why. The Concert was for my wife and she loved it so much, I decided to get a Tenor for myself. We are both enjoying them immensely. Excellent build quality. Yes, the strings need constant tuning for the first few weeks -- this is not uncommon while the strings stretch out so don't judge by that. I compared several ukuleles and the Cordoba's consistently are rated one of the best beginner ukes. If you're looking for a ukulele to grow with, I think this is the perfect model.
