Features

  • Cordless Electric Tiller: No more yanking starter cords, mixing fuel, or tangled cables. This 40V DC brushless tiller is more efficient and lasts longer than brushed one, so you spend less time maintaining and more time growing. It delivers 400W of reliable power, enough to slice through compacted soil, rip out shallow weeds, and prep seedbeds without the noise and fumes of a gas tiller. Its the perfect middle ground between underpowered corded tillers and heavy, high-maintenance gas models.
  • 2*4.0Ah Rechargeable Batteries: With two 4.0Ah batteries, this tiller cultivator can get up to 65 minutes of continuous tilling in soft soil (4555 minutes in harder ground). Thats enough to handle most raised beds, small veggie gardens, or flower borders without stopping to recharge. A single battery offers 25 minutes of runtime. The included 2.2A dual-port charger fully powers up two batteries in around 2 hours, letting you work continuously and boost overall efficiency.
  • Powerful and Efficient: The 14" working width lets you cover ground quickly while fitting between plant rows. With a max tilling depth of 7", you can break up crusted topsoil, mix in compost, or cut off weed roots just below the surface. Blades rotate smoothly, and the tiller is less prone to clogging or getting tangled in wet soil (extremely wet is not recommend). Perfect for secondary tillage, preparing already-broken ground for planting, or giving your established beds a midseason refresh.
  • 2Position Wheel Adjustment: This 2-position adjustable wheel design allows you switch between transport and tilling without fighting the machine. Use it for interrow weeding, turning over spent crops, or loosening soil around perennials, while staying surprisingly light (20 lbs net).
  • Safety and Security: Both the machine and the batteries feature overheat, overcurrent (12A5A), and overload protection, so the tiller automatically shuts down if something goes wrong, preventing damage and keeping you safe. It also includes battery cover latch to prevent pop open during use. Plus, the whole kit is certified comes with a 3-year warranty. Whether youre a weekend gardener or a serious urban farmer, this tiller makes the job easier, cleaner, and safer.

  • This is a "dream machine" to help gardeners plant flowers and vegetables This is a "dream machine" to help gardeners plant flowers and vegetables
A next door neighbor of mine has a cordless electric lawn mower and I was amazed such a thing exists. It can cut grass and not make such terrible noise, smoke and a foul smell like conventional lawnmowers do. So when I saw this DESOON Electric Garden Tiller, I was enthused about it and decided to order it. The timing is perfect. It's still early enough in the growing season as I write this review, that I can now till areas of my back yard to use for gardening. This tiller is designed for maximum convenience. Unlike an electric hedge trimmer I've got that requites a long and cumbersome heavy-duty extension cord, this DESOON tiller is cordless. It operates on two large rechargeable batteries (which only take about 2 hours to charge). So you avoid having to buy gas and oil for it. It will run about an hour before it needs recharging. You can get a lot accomplished in that length of time. One feature I especially like is that it has two wheel adjustment positions -- one for working, and the other so you can easily transport it without dragging it back to where you store it. There are all sorts of sensible design elements to this wonderful tiller. For instance, it will guard against you accidentally over-charging it, and it will shut down if it gets too hot so as not to damage the machine. Assembly is required and I can't say that I enjoyed the experience, but I managed to follow the enclosed directions to put this machine together. However, I could not get either of the videos featured in the product listings to work so that was a drawback. When I finally got it put together I realized that I had just saved myself some money. Because I don't have to hire a stranger to come over and till for me. That usually entails a lot of inconvenience and expense, and you never know if the person you hired is going to do a good job. This is the perfect size tiller for me to handle. It will cultivate a width of 14 inches, and up to a 7-inch depth. This should be sufficient to turn over top soil and also dig deep enough to deal with any remaining roots. I started using this and was impressed with its performance, but then it started to rain...and rain and rain. We've had so much moisture lately I'm having to wait to resume my tilling because the soil is just too wet for tilling or planting. But I am excited to own this wonderful tiller as I have ambitious gardening plans not only for flowers but also a few vegetables, both of which should last well into Autumn if I can get them in the ground soon. I've got a nice -- but bland -- fenced in back yard and thanks to this DESOON tiller, that is all going to change this year after I till a few places and do some planting. This is a quality product, obviously well designed, looks strong and durable, and even folds up so I can store it in my garage without taking up a lot of space. The price is very reasonable and I am happy to recommend it. ... show more

  • SO convenient to use for small or lighter duty work
Assemble was super easy, while instructions were included they were not really necessary as it's pretty intuitive, no tools are required, and it took about 10 minutes from unbox to use. I was also excited to find these "off brand" 40V (actually two 20V) batteries work with a off brand 40V weed whip I recently ordered so if I'm only using one of these tools I have a backup battery set, a charge lasted about 45min to an hour of intermittent use. Operation is super easy, just pull the handle and you're off. While this thing is not going to replace our large troybilt garden tiller, it is perfect for small spaces like existing flower beds or light duty work where any really hard ground has already been tilled at some point in the past. I'm looking forward to zipping down the garden rows to control weeds all summer with this thing. I've been accumulating more battery operated tools as time goes on; they've come a long way in just the last couple years. While we live on a farm and have all sorts of "real" heavy duty equipment for all sorts of jobs; It's SO convenient to grab a battery operated whatever to do quick work. Even my husband and sons will grab one of the battery tools if they need something simple done quick. I don't have to worry about the bulk or operation of large equipment, hoping there's fuel in a tank, fighting to start engines, and hoping the carburetors haven't fouled up in their downtime. While this isn't the ONLY tiller we need around the place it's a definite asset to the arsenals and I'm very happy with the quality and performance at this value. ... show more

  • Super easy for most light situations
My in-laws have a gas powered tiller but they live an hour away and it's always inconvenient to try to transport it back and forth when we both want to use it at the same time each year. And since it is theirs, I usually don't even ask unless we have some serious work we need to do. My wife and I have a few different flower beds and some vegetable garden areas in our yard so we spend a lot of time working the ground compared to our other suburban neighbors. Some of those areas are in a tiered landscape so it can be difficult to get heavy machinery where you need it. This tiller works very well for those smaller beds. It is small enough to easily be lifted and moved from one place to another but big enough to still mix up the ground. It was super easy to set up (just a couple included screws and no additional tools required) and even easier to turn on. Just connect the batteries, push the button and pull the lever. There is no additional on/off switch. The instructions suggest disconnecting the batteries when not in use and I would agree just so there isn't any draw on them. It does have a soft start so it's easy to control when you get it going, but depending on your soil, it may be a little hard to work with at times. Tillers are a bit unwieldy at times just because of their nature, but because this one is small and pretty lightweight, it was a little more difficult with my hard clay Colorado soil. There just wasn't enough weight to keep the front end down as I pushed it forward and it would bounce up instead of digging down. So I found it worked better for me to pull the tiller where I needed to go. I even swept it side to side a little against the wheels to get a better mix of the soil. Now, I used the machine in areas where we had already been growing things in the past and because of that, it seemed to work well enough. I had one time where it caught on something and it locked up the machine, but I couldn't really see what caused it, I'm guessing it got tangled on a root or something. If I was trying to use it to prep a new area, I'm not sure how well it would do where I live. The ground is just too hard so I'm afraid it might just be a little too small and underpowered for what that would require. But if you live in most other places where the soil is a bit easier, you should be fine. The only other complaint I have is with the battery design. They have the little push button light indicator to help you have an idea of what the charge is, but the lights are on the back side of the batter when installed so if you want to look, you have to take them out. My initial use lasted about 20 minutes and took care of two of my beds and both batteries still show a full charge so I'm happy and a little surprised at how long you would likely be able to use this on one charge. Plus, you can charge both batteries at the same time. I recently got a lawn mower that has two batteries and can only charge one at a time and it's a bit inconvenient. Based on the general cost of the batteries alone, at it's current price (about $150), it's almost like you're getting the tiller for free. It feels a little cheap with it's plastic body, but it seems like it will hold up well enough for the use it was designed for. If you have an actual farm in your back yard, you may want something bigger and more powerful, but for the average home owner, this is amazing. ... show more

  • Finally a battery-powered option for doing light-to-medium duty tilling Finally a battery-powered option for doing light-to-medium duty tilling
Tillers can take a beating depending on what kind of soil you have. I got this for loosening up sand on a volleyball court and I thought it would be well-suited for such light-duty and repetitive work, and I was right. This 40V battery-powered tiller from DESOON has some distinct advantages over a gas-powered one, not the least of which is you won’t need to mess around with stale gas and clogged carburetors. The tiller is capable of tilling down as far as 7”. The depth isn’t really settable but instead there’s a transport position and a use position for the rear wheels. To use it, you pop the transport wheels up out of the way, start the tines and start walking backwards slowly. The depth of tilling is determined by how long you dwell in one spot. The kit comes with two 20V batteries and a charger. This style of tiller is considered a “front-tine” type meaning the tilling blades are in front of the wheels. This is a substantial tool, not a cheap version. I wish the plastic cover that protects the battery compartment would stay open on its own without having to hold the cover up with one hand while inserting the batteries with the other hand. Long term durability remains to be seen but on sand or soil that isn’t rocky I am optimistic. Pricing is not out of line with comparable models and is less than you would spend on a gas-powered type. It has exceeded my expectations for my application so I can recommend it. ... show more

  • Very easy to setup and use.
I was so excited for this because all I have to use is my grandpas old heavy duty garden tiller. I mean, the positives of that thing is that because its so heavy duty, it definitely does the trick! But, it is so heavy, and, given my short stature, I have to have my dad or brother help me pull the cord to start it as I simply don't have the leverage, which is very frustrating as I am the only one who uses it. First the positives, this was super easy to put together. I believe I was able to set it up in under ten minutes including opening up the box and looking at the instructions. The batteries were also super easy to charge and super easy to put in the tiller. It is wonderfully lightweight compared to the other old heavy duty tiller. The only downside was, for me, our soil is so compact, that this being lightweight meant that while it was much easier to use, it did take much much longer to achieve the same effect. However, I have given this five stars because for a battery powered machine, and for the average gardener or homeowner using this on normal lawn soil, this will be an easy way to till small areas! ... show more

  • Lightweight, plenty of power, and great battery life! Lightweight, plenty of power, and great battery life!
I picked up this cordless tiller to help prep my garden beds, and honestly, it’s a huge step up from dealing with gas mixes or constantly tripping over an extension cord. It’s the perfect middle ground if you need something capable but don't want the hassle of heavy, high-maintenance machinery. Pros: • The battery life is really solid. It comes with two 4.0Ah batteries, and I easily get about 45 to 55 minutes of continuous digging in harder dirt before needing a charge. • It’s super lightweight at around 20 lbs, making it very easy to maneuver between plant rows or roll out to the yard using the adjustable wheels. • It digs surprisingly well. It easily goes down 7 inches to mix in compost and rip up shallow weeds without bogging down. Cons: • It has a built-in safety shutoff for overload protection, so it will stop dead if you hit a really stubborn patch or a thick root to prevent damage. • The 14 inch tilling width is perfect for tight spaces and raised beds, but it means the job will take a bit longer if you are trying to turn over a massive open space. Overall, this is a fantastic tool for weekend yard work. It saves my back, gets the dirt prepped quickly, and makes the whole process a lot cleaner and easier. Note that after using it for a bit, the plastic tighteners start to come loose and had one fall off including the screw. Make sure that you tighten it often. Highly recommended! ... show more

  • Not What We Expected At All Not What We Expected At All
This would have been an excellent tiller for our smaller gardens if it worked. I charged up both batteries before trying the tiller but it just won't turn over any soil. I tried it in a section of a garden that hasn't been used for one full season. That section now has grass in it. But the soil beneath the grass is rich, organic, airy, black soil. The tiller won't even get through the grass without jamming. The tiller is also too light. And any downward pressure you use to help it grab the soil immediately jambs the machine. About the only thing the tiller will go through is loose sand. ... show more

Powered by a high-efficiency 400W brushless motor, it delivers reliable performance for breaking up compacted soil, removing shallow weeds, and preparing seedbeds. The 14-inch tilling width covers ground efficiently while still allowing easy maneuverability between rows, and the 7-inch maximum tilling depth is ideal for mixing compost, loosening soil, and promoting healthy root growth. Equipped with two 4.0Ah rechargeable batteries, the tiller provides up to 65 minutes of runtime in soft soil and 45–55 minutes in tougher conditions, making it well-suited for raised beds, flower gardens, and small vegetable plots. Its lightweight 20-pound design and 2-position adjustable wheels allow for quick transitions between transport and tilling modes, reducing fatigue during use. Built-in safety features, including overheat, overload, and overcurrent protection for both the machine and batteries, help safeguard performance and extend equipment life.
