  • For a beginner looking to only hatch a few eggs
I'm rating this a 4 out of 5. The device is easy to assemble but smaller then expected. I was hoping to incubate 12 chicken eggs but only 9 eggs fit inside and my eggs are average size. Not extra large. The temperature maintained by added a weight on top of the device lid for a better seal (it's all plastic). I also bought an extra device to monitor the humidity level. The lockdown stage was a disappointed because you can't really see the hatching process. With the humidity level increase, condensation formed on the sides of the device and the top as not see through. I had to turn off the light in the room and use a flashlight to "try" to see inside. 6 of my 9 eggs hatched. The incubator obviously worked. I'd say this incubator is suitable for a beginner that is looking to only hatch a few eggs. If you are looking to hatch a dozen or more chicken eggs at one time this incubator is not for you. ... show more

  • Great for beginners
I had a successful hatch of quail for my first batch with about an 80% hatch rate for eggs that were shipped which is great. I just started a second batch now. You do need a thermometer/hygrometer because the temp is a little off which is to be expected and there is no built in hygrometer. I used a govee. When i first set up the incubator, the temp seemed to fluctuate a lot by a few degrees. I was able to fix this issue by wrapping a towel around the entire unit (except for the air hole) and this fixed that issue. Also there is no way to add water without opening the lid which let's out a lot of heat, i drilled a small hole on the side and inserted aquarium tubing and was able to add water this way. Overall great for someone just starting out, it works for now but will eventually need to upgrade because it only holds about 20-24 jumbo quail eggs. ... show more

  • It's working
I haven't had it long so I was excited to try it out and this was my first time incubating chicken eggs, the temperature is in Celsius but it would be nice if it were Fahrenheit, it does not monitor humidity so another few bucks to buy a hydrometer & temperature gauge, no candler so another couple bucks. And it takes a bit of monitoring to keep it adjusted within its limits. Now with all that said I would buy it again because I'm only going to do it few times a year and I didn't want a ton of money in it. $79.00 for all of it. So far it's working like it's supposed to, I put 9 eggs in it and 7 were not fertilized but the other 2 are doing great with hatch date in 6 days. ... show more

  • I love it!
Perfect for my needs. It only has Celsius, but it's easily converted. Works amazingly well!!

  • Didn’t keep heat
I had to wrap too and bottom in aluminum foil to get it to keep the heat to 38*C. I had a temp/humidity reader in there. I put 10 eggs in and only 3 actually hatched.

  • Seems to be working as described
I have a temperature and humidity reader in the incubator to keep an eye on things which Bluetooth to my phone. I find that I need it set at 37.1 to 37.3 c to keep my eggs at a right temperature. I've been adding about 50 cc's of water a day to keep humidity at the right level. Today a week later I've checked my eggs most appear to be growing as they should. It's definitely not a set it and forget it incubator but I don't mind... Makes me feel like an old mother hen ... show more

  • Pretty Good
The material the incubator is made of is pretty sturdy, but not that great at insulating as the humidity and temperature do seem to fluctuate quite a bit in open room. The incubator also doesn't have a way to externally add water, so you have to slightly open the incubator to increase humidity which means you loos heat and moisture whenever you open it. Overall, I'd say the incubator is a good price for what its worth. ... show more
