I am 12 years old and I love to fly drones. I have a bunch of cheap ones in my closet and a few that are around 50 dollars that I like to fly, but after a while I decided that I needed an upgrade. I was searching for weeks for one that had a good camera, GPS, and a low cost. Once I came across the Contixo f24 pro I knew that it was the drone to buy, and a few days later after checking with my dad I ordered it. It arrived a lot earlier than expected and as soon as it came I started charging it. It took around 2 hours to charge because it was already at half when it came, and when it was charged I took it out for my first flight. Now I have flown a lot of drones and even some DJI's, but all of that was nothing compared to this. I hit the one key takeoff button and expected it to drift with the wind ( there were up to 20 mph wind gusts that day), but it stayed perfectly still. For my first flight I stayed with the main controls to get used to how it handled, and it was incredibly smooth. The next day I tried out the flight modes (Orbit mode, follow me, follow object, return to home, one key takeoff and landing, headless mode, waypoints, hand gestures) and also tried the VR addition on the app which went very well. The video quality is amazing and you will not be able to find another drone with such good quality, features, and handling at such a good price. The drone takes about 5 hours to charge, and you get about 30 minutes of flight time. It is easy for beginners, and I had mastered flying it in just 2 days. The media could not be loaded. I don’t believe I have ever written a review for a product before, but I was compelled to do so with this one. I got a lower end drone as a Christmas present a few years ago and the concept piqued my interest. A friend told me “spend the money and buy a decent one”, so I did. After watching several youtube videos, reading several consumer reports and comparing the ones I had narrowed it down to, my choice was the CONTIXO F24 Pro. I was not disappointed at all! I purchased the drone in early February 2020. I have been flying it on average every other day since then (approx. 3 weeks now). This bird has quite a few features for the price, but one feature it has that rates high in value is customer support. The only problem I had was not being able to get the waypoint feature to work on it. A call to customer service, an e mail and BOOM, problem fixed. I have taken it up to just shy of the 400-foot legal limit and parked it there while I retrieved my soda from the truck. It hovers very steadily. I have parked it 15 feet in the air and captured video and still pics of a marathon race as the runners came by. Works like a champ! The bird comes in a nice carrying case that is very protective and organized. I can be unpacked, unfolded and in the air in just over 3 minutes, including pulling the cover off my cell phone so it fits in the holder. I average 24-30 minutes of flight time on a single battery, depending on the wind and whatever other features I may be using. Camera quality is incredible. It takes great still pics as well as video. Now, what would I like to see added to this drone set up? First and foremost a feature that returns the camera lens to horizontal when shutting down the drone. I must remind myself to do this because of the way it goes in the case, it is the best position for protection. Second, a small compass on the screen for when you are not in headless mode that points in the direction of the nose of the drone. When it is 200 yards away from you (and you have 56-year-old eyes), you can’t see which is the front or back very easily. Third, some lightweight removable landing gear. Though it has rubber bumpers on the bottom, some legs could be beneficial if taking off and landing in taller grass areas. And last, an option to change from metric to standard. As you can see, none of the four things I mentioned above affect the rating I give this bird. It is a great drone for everyone from beginner to experienced flyers.     • Good drone - although buggy with Android phones

The media could not be loaded. So I have been playing with the idea of getting a drone to take great aerial photos during our camping trips. I researched different ones, and came across this one, which I liked because it had decent reviews on battery life, compactness, and ease of use; as well as a ton of great features (Follow Me mode, Hand gesture photos and video, Point of Interest mode, Return to Home mode, Waypoint mode), all for a relatively decent price. I bit the bullet and purchased it. I spent three or four days testing it, and it was quite easy to control. The Follow Me function was pretty cool. I have not tried out the Point of Interest or the photo/video by hand gesture features yet, but plan to soon. In learning how to navigate the drone I crashed it several times, but it is still doing fine - it only shows some minor scratches on the propeller blades (not super worried about this, as the drone comes with spare blades). Important take-aways from what I have learned so far: Do not try to fly it if any of the lights on the drone are blinking - it may cause the drone to act erratically. Make sure all lights are solid blue and white before take off. Also don't use the Return To Home feature unless you are in a pretty wide open area, and the drone is in sight - this drone does not have obstacle avoidance capability, so if the drone is out of your line of sight (say, behind some trees) and you press the RTH button, it will make a bee line for the take-off spot, regardless of what is in its way. Learning to maneuver the drone was fairly unproblematic. The big problem I ran into was the Contixo app did not work correctly on my Moto G6 Play Android phone. I was unable to see the live camera feed while flying the drone, and I could not take photos or video from within the app by pressing the photo/video buttons (although I was able to take photos and video by pressing the photo/video buttons on the remote control). Problem was that without a live video feed, I couldn't see what I was taking a photo/video of - at least, not until I landed the drone and took the SD card out of it to view the images on my computer. Another problem was that the app wasn't showing me any in-flight data (altitude, distance, speed). I spent the entire weekend trying different things to solve these issues (reading other reviews online, Googling tech articles, downloading different drone apps on my phone in the hopes that at least one of them would work). I noted during my research that several other people also had issues with the Android version of the Contixo app. I tried to see if other apps would work with the drone, but had no luck. After trying numerous different things to get the app to work properly, I almost decided to return the drone. I decided as a last-ditch effort to contact Contixo, and they responded within 24 hours via e-mail. They gave me a list of the following tips to try: How to fix Android Not Connecting to Wi-Fi Problem Tip 1. Restart Phone Tip 2. Toggle WiFi Off and on Tip 3. Turn Airplane Mode Off Tip 4. Turn Bluetooth off Tip 5. Turn Power Saving Mode off Tip 6. Turn off Smart Network Switch Tip 7. Turn off Auto-Reconnect for weak Wi-Fi Signal I performed all these steps and opened up the Contixo app to see if I could get a live video feed, but still nothing. I then decided to try using another app called SJ GPS PRO. The interface of this app is nearly identical to the one in the Contixo app. FINALLY I was able to see the live video feed in the SJ GPS PRO app. WHEW! That was a pain in the a$$ but it was worth it. I can't give this five stars because of the extensive issues I had with Contixo's app. It is problematic and buggy. However, I bumped up my original inclination of three stars to four, because of the prompt and helpful response from Contixo in helping me resolve my issues, and because the drone is feature-rich and does pretty much everything I wanted and then some (I especially like the ultra HD 1080P camera). This is a nicely-priced drone, considering all the features it has. I would buy this again - but would strongly recommend that Contixo work on improving its Android version of the app. EDIT (9/21/2019): Android continues to be buggy occasionally when I try to view live feed. Performing the following steps seemed to work: Re-boot phone Turn off drone and Remote control Turn drone back on Turn Remote control back on Sync the Remote with the drone by moving the left joystick up and then down Turn on Contixo WIFI on the phone Turn OFF GPS on Remote control (if it is on) Open the SJ GPS PRO app Turn ON GPS on Remote control. I figured out that if I had the GPS activated on the remote before opening up the app on my phone, I could not see the live view from the camera. Weird. Also, The Follow Me mode and Hand gesture mode have not been working for me - this might have to do with the fact that I am not using the Contixo app... at any rate, this is not a deal-breaker for me. ... show more
