I’ve only had it running for about 16 hours, however, I feel like I’ve got enough to leave a review off of my first day of use. First impression, it’s not a good looking ice machine. We’d gone back and forth with putting it in the garage or putting it in the house. We’d prefer to have it inside because the garage gets pretty hot, but it’s not really an appliance that I want sitting in my kitchen. It doesn’t look as clean as it does in the photos, it would be a good addition to a garage, but it’s kind of an eye sore in the house. The seams are almost all chipping. There’s metal showing through the paint in many spots (as pictured). It’s very roughly put together and just not something I want sitting next to my other expensive appliances. It makes ice. It does the one thing it’s supposed to do, very well. This morning I woke up and it showed “full” but I broke the ice up and it started making some more. I had run about 4 gallons through it, so I don’t believe the storage capacity to be accurate when 5 gallons of water is 41.7lbs. We haven’t even run 45lbs of water through the machine yet. Of that 5 gallons, we probably have 32 - 48 oz of drainage. It does overspray as it’s making the ice, so I’m not sure if that’s from the overspray or melting ice, but it’s a lot more drainage than I’d anticipated. I’m going to experiment with it and how much drainage we have once the storage bin is full to see if it’s realistic to use in a house hold setting, or if we’re going to be wasting copious amounts of water by trying to run this machine. The noise level is excellent. The ice drops are pretty similar to what you get out of the fridge/freezer. When the compressor is running, is probably 1/4 the noise level of a cheap, on the counter ice maker. No complaints there whatsoever. We’re very much undecided if we are going to seek a refund based on the aesthetics of the machine though. We’re very disappointed with the looks of this machine as we were expecting to have it in the house. It looks like a second hand machine that had been through some pretty heavy use, not like a new appliance, and it’s not very inconspicuous. A machine like this catches people’s eyes and needs to look good. ***1 WEEK UPDATE*** Once full, we’re losing about 1 1/2 gallons - 2 gallons of water a day. Our house is kept at 72 degrees and it is not sitting in direct sunlight. It is not meant to store ice at all.

The media could not be loaded. EDITED REVIEW: The email address I was looking for was on the manual. It’s also listed on the Hothope site but took a while to track down. Seller was very responsive when I called. They had me send in video to make sure it wasn’t a larger issue. They sent a replacement filter and that solved the leaking problem. Then they followed up to make sure everything was satisfactory. I’m pleased with the ice maker and feel this was a worthy purchase. Note to buyers-place a bucket or bowl under the filter BEFORE installing. It ruined the wood in my cabinet and that’s frustrating. The seller replaced the defective item and followed up a few times to make sure we were good. Fantastic customer service that won’t leave you hanging. ORIGINAL REVIEW: The filter leaks. I believe it’s the seal at the top. I called in for support but never received an email so I could follow up with the video to fix the problem. I need a replacement part and it’s been difficult to try and get one. If a replacement piece has been sent or troubleshooting as sufficient, then I will adjust my review.

This ice maker works great, delivering the ice as advertised. After a while however, it quit making ice. I emailed their customer service for support and within hours of my request a representative named Lemon responded with some questions on error codes and some simple checks on the machine. After a couple back and forths, Lemon diagnosed the issue and presented a couple options for remedying the situation. This customer service far exceeds that of most sellers and I would recommend them whole heartedly.
