The fan isn’t so loud that it causes me distress. It’s still pretty quiet. The adjustable filters make fitting it to windows very easy. I was concerned that the measurements might be a little different than advertised because I have a small window, but the measurements were accurate. This dual window fan has been excellent for keeping my workspace comfortable without running the AC constantly. The 9-inch dual fan design moves a surprising amount of air for the compact size. Installation is straightforward with the auto-locking expandable panel that fits securely in my window opening. The three speed settings give good control - low is whisper quiet for nighttime use, while high provides serious airflow when needed. I particularly like that each fan can be set independently to exhaust or intake, which lets me create cross-ventilation. The reversible airflow feature is great for pulling in cool evening air or exhausting hot workshop air during the day. The unit stays firmly in place once installed and the expanding panels seal well to prevent bugs from getting in. Build quality is solid with durable materials and stable motor operation.     • False advertising - it is not “reversible” without removing the fan and physically turning it around

The fan is quiet on low setting and it has accordion slides in the sides that some people may appreciate depending on what you want (could be a pro or a con). That’s the good part. It cannot get wet so you cannot leave it in the window like a window fan. To reverse the airflow, you have to pull the fan out and turn it around. That is not reversible. Now the ad says you can turn the fan around but pretty sure when I bought it it did not say this. Why would I spend money on a fan when I could just one I already own in the window with the same “reversible” feature? There is no way to actually install the fan in the window unless you want to build a frame for it which you can’t do because you can’t get it wet. There are no grooves or flaps or shelves or tabs to help it stay in the window frame. There is no type of louvre so air will flow into the room or out of the room whether the fan is on or not so you really can’t use it for exhaust only. The cord is not very long either so you need to have an outlet very close to the window. It’s just pretty much an overpriced fan. Don’t buy unless you don’t already have a fan you can put in front of your window. You have to be at home to manage its operation at all times, you can’t just set it and forget it, no timer etc. Since most people work (or used to before the economy crashed) this is just not practical. I bought this fan because the window I need it to go in is small in height (about 11 inches with the window all the way open) so most window fans are too tall, and too narrow width-wise to fit a Vornado Transom (I have 2 of these in different rooms also with short windows, but where the windows are wider). I knew this fan probably wasn't going to be amazing given it's size and the price. But it's a bit less powerful than I expected. Once I move more than 3 feet away from the fan, I can't feel any air movement. It's also noisier than I'd expect for a fan this size. My other fans are about 55 decibels from 3 feet away. This fan is 70 decibels from 3 feet away. I do like it's simplicity. Window fans tend to die pretty fast as is, in my experience. So the fact that this has no additional bells and whistles -- no remote, no reverse function (you just turn the fan around), no "smart" features, etc -- is what I prefer. I purchased two of these fans and they’ve been a great value. They work really well for days when you don’t need the air conditioner on but still want good airflow. I like being able to bring fresh air in or push stale air out depending on the room. The fan runs quietly, especially on the lower settings, and the timer feature is a nice bonus for convenience. Overall, a simple but very effective way to keep the house comfortable.
