I bought this fan for my bedroom because it gets quite warm even in the winter. I love it! The highest speed is a bit loud but it's also a ton of power so it makes a difference. I've been shopping for a fan for some time. Although I prefer tower fans for the space-saving aspect, the airflow always seems to suffer. Also, every tower fan I've bought in the last decade eventually started with weird squealing or squelch noises when oscillating, which when the house is quiet, I find intolerable. I started looking into window mounted fans and shopped through so many models before deciding on this one, and I'm happy that I did. Firstly, the fan isn't super quiet. To be fair, the fan blades' movement is quiet. The noise I believe many have complaint with is the "hum" that the motors themselves have. Regardless of speed, or direction of the blades, the hum is a constant. If you don't set the fan up correctly in the window, or if it doesn't properly fit your window for some odd reason, it WILL amplify this mechanical, vibrating hum. It's not bad, and it's not overly loud, but you WILL notice it in a quiet environment. The fan itself, is really nice. It has three speeds via 2 fans that aren't fine tunable (no breeze modes,etc.) so you get those 3 speeds and that's it. It has reversible directions, and also the ability to "circulate" by using one of its' fans as a draw fan, while the other blows in. Nice feature, and I didn't find many fans that had it. The remote is exactly that. It's remote. It controls. It will require you to have 2 AAAs on hand to use it. The beeping is really overly-loud. Thankfully, I just turn the fan on and leave it at one setting, so no beeps for me The lights on the fan themselves are super aggressive, and I see no obvious way to turn them off. Doesn't bother me, but others might want that electricians tape ready to cover these things. Also to note are the included screens for the unit . One for covering the unit during cold months, I assume, and the other that acts as a mosquito netting when using the fan. Included are two plastic legs that can apparently be mounted so that the fan can be used table-top style. I can't comment on these as I won't be using them. And I believe there would be better choices if your usage scenario is table-top. All things considered, the fan "fit the bill" for me, and maybe it will for you too, despite it's caveats. ... show more

    • Remote wont work through curtains. VERY loud beep can not be disabled.

Its a window fan, it does its window thing. What feels like a design oversight however would be the type of remote used. If there's not direct line of sight between the remote and the fan (cause you know... invisible lasers or whatever, sorry, Im not science-y) the remote wont work. To a degree this is fine, why would you have curtains drawn while you have a fan in the window? Well, our apartment window doesn't have blinds. Assumably because of the style of window being too wide but- short story is we have to keep the blinds partially pulled if we want the least bit of privacy, so the curtains are closed up to the window. Because of the room set up, this means the remote wont work from anywhere in the room except directly in front of the fan. The BIGGEST issue tho- the infernal beep EVERY time you adjust a setting or turn the fan on/off. Its a short beep but its so piercing it makes moving through the settings quite awful. Say you want the fan on circulate and on high setting. It beeps when you turn it on, it will beep for every setting you have to cycle through starting with Intake, then exhaust, THEN circulate. It will beep for changing the speed from Low to Med and Med to High. In total that's very loud very piercing beeps. Hope you are ok with waking up any neighboring bedrooms if you need to adjust this fan at night. Lastly - I question the durability of this fan over all. That is to say - when using the fan on exhaust mode, if the wind happens to be coming from a direction which blows into the window, the fan blades will nearly stop spinning while I can hear the motor buzzing away. I can't imagine that's good for said motor. Over all it functions as needed but I cant say it feels like its worth the price point. ... show more

This fan does the job venting my kitchen. Without pulling out the side baffles located in the fan body itself, the width of unit just happened to be less than an inch smaller than my kitchen single hung window. Perfect. My 900 sq. ft. apartment does not have great ventilation and the vent hood over the oven does not vent to the outside. This means my small kitchen gets hot. I bake almost daily while having to work in the excessive heat. Here comes this dual fan to the rescue. It has a quiet mode that I use for when my oven is not on and I just want getter circulation. But, there are 2 other fan speeds that move the hot air out when I need it. I read some say the fan is too loud? I say heck no. My ovens vent hood is louder and now, I do not even use that. I only use this dual fan while cracking open the sliding glass door in the other room thus providing complete air movement and circulation with little noise. I'm able to draw in a breeze while exhausting the stagnant kitchen hot air in a decently quiet environment. I'm loving this unit. ... show more
