Just received mine. It says to charge it for 2 hours before first using it, but mine was fully charged (i.e. the blue light stopped blinking) in about 30 minutes. Assuming that was correct, I tried it out. Very effective and easy to use. The on/off button is to be on the left, so the cooling vents can work on your neck, face and head. Short click for low, medium and high and 4th click to turn off - or alternatively, a slightly longer hold on any setting will also turn it off. I do find it a bit noisier than all the reviews and videos indicated, but again, ANYTHING that relieves extreme heat is a bonus in my book. It does cool, is powerful enough for my needs and it's light enough around the neck; not as annoying as I thought it would be. This product was purchased in hopes that it would take the summer heat off at picnics. I am now forced to buy more because others in the house use it nonstop. Wife uses it while cooking and my daughter will where it just about anywhere that involves “outside”. The fan isn’t loud enough to block background conversations, but puts out enough airflow to cool you off. The build quality is good against drops from about 4 or so feet. (Learned that the hard way) The unit itself feels solid also, but doesn’t have enough weight to feel like a burden. Controls are simple and easily figured out by people you let borrow it. I recommend this neck fan, it came as described and worked as intended. It's a fan, it is NOT an air conditioner! If it's a humid 120° outside, it's going to blow around 120° humid air. If your hormones are a off, you feel annoyed, anxious, and hot on a 40° or 95° day, this thing is a huge help, as hot air flow, while aggervating, is better than no air flow. I was impressed with how little noise it made considering it's a fan, but I couldn't have conversations with it on, mainly from the air passing my ears, rather than the noise the fan motor made. Updated Review: I bought this in April of 2024 and it stopped working in July of 2024. Would not suggest purchasing. Prev Review: I purchased this for when I was in labor and I ended up using it my whole pregnancy and in labor. Honestly, if I had to pick between an epidural and this fan, I would pick this fan. Sadly, (and i mean full on tears) I lost in the post-baby trying-to-keep-everything-together post-baby haze. I purchased this again to help combat dermatomyositis symptoms and while I still love it, the battery life doesn't last nearly as long as the previous one. It lasts a half hour tops after being charged fully. I try and keep it charged all the time. Regardless, I still love it. It was very helpful in the hospital when it was in the high 90s and the AC wasnt working and am a huge fan. 100% would buy again and have suggested to many friends who also loved it. ... show more

I purchased this for a cruise a vouple years ago. My husband was so impressed he got one too. They have both held up very well and the batteries last a fairly long time. Not useful while in very hot conditions because blows hot air, and even on hi setting cannot feel the air blowing. I take meds that make me more prone to dehydration and sensitive to heat. I didn’t have a ton of faith that a little fan would really be that helpful but I figured since I sweat a lot it was worth a try! I can say that as long as it isn’t too humid out, this is a great pick. I wanted one that was rechargeable so it was lighter and saved $ on batteries and I’m glad I did. I’ve used it intermittently for many days now without needing to charge it again and I don’t have to leave it on forever to feel the relief. I’ll usually turn it on for 20 minutes and then turn it down or off for a bit until I get uncomfortable again.
