THIS JACKET IS AMAZING! Like your normal 5 star review, I don't ordinarily write reviews for products I by on Amazon, and normally just stalk the comment section debating wether or not to purchase an item. If you do the same, take this as your sign to buy the jacket. I swear by Columbia rain coats, but needed one that wasn't fleece lined or just a wind breaker. Trust me this jacket keeps you dry and warm (but not too warm). I hiked the entiretly of Spain in this jacket, walking in anywhere from a blizzard on a mountain to the desert in a heat wave and this jacket never failed me. It survived being shoved to the bottom of a backpacking pack, through a snow storm, and heavy amounts of rain, and I never once got soaked. Plus the price of the jacket was stupid cheap for the quality of the jacket. It even has draw strings at the bottom of the coat and around the hood, plus velcro around the wrists to totally lock water out. My only complaint with the jacket is the hood doesn't have that extra lining almost like a hat, to deflect water, but that would really only be needed in heavy down pour. I highly recommended this jacket, it's awesome, and I've already gotten use out of it sinnce being back home! Few Tips: - if you are backpacking where the fabric will be pulled/ wearing layers underneath I would size up for a more comfortable fit - it can be a little longer, I'm 5'5 and 150 pounds, size 6 S/M and I purchased a large. The overall fit was great for layering, but it was still longer on me - pics included (one in the snow, I had my pack on and 4 layers underneath and still had plentry of room)

Great jacket! Be careful picking your size.
For the record: I don't love this jacket, my wife does. I love my wife and she looks great in this jacket. We were a little confused by the mixed reviews on sizing. Many reviewers were posting remarks about the importance of ordering a size up to allow room for a sweater or something similar. Yet there were other reviewers saying the exact opposite. My wife is normally in-between small and medium when buying shirts and jackets (yes it's extremely frustrating buying clothes for her) so we figured we should go with a medium since most reviewers were saying to go a size up. We ended up going to a store that carried these locally to try on the fit. Buying locally at the store would have been WAY more expensive! But it was useful to get the sizing just right. My wife said the medium felt like she was wearing a bag and she'd be swimming in it. Don't know exactly what that means except that it was too large for her taste and not form fitting. She tried the small and it fit just right. Our recommendation is to get ahold of a jacket locally even if it's not the exact model or color you're considering but a Columbia brand rainproof jacket and try a few on to ensure you get the right fit for you to avoid the hassle of returning the product for a different size. I realize that this isn't possible for everyone but amidst the confusion and various opinions on the matter it's what we recommend. If that isn't possible then decide what size based on your body shape and what you hope to use this jacket for. If you'll need it as an outer layer with multiple other layers underneath for warmth then go a size up. If you're going to use it just to stay dry with a small sweatshirt or t shirt with a fleece jacket underneath then ordering your normal size will be just fine and offer mobility. As for it's use, the jacket did it's job holding up to downpour rainstorms in Hilo Hawaii yet remaining comfortable and relatively breathable while having a very attractive appearance. We took it on several hikes and it kept her dry through several bouts of rain. She highly enjoyed and recommends this jacket as a lightweight and very rainproof jacket that has some style and isn't "a bag to go swimming in."

Best rain jacket

I'm in love with this jacket. I work at a state college and we were expecting rain for our Commencement Day, so I bought this for the occasion and am so happy I did. Not only did it keep me dry but it kept me warm despite how light it is. It's also a perfect fit and form flattering which is a huge bonus. The material is thin but sturdy and easy to move around in as well as spot clean. Zipper hasn't given me any issues. I've worn it several times and layered it with a thin hoodie underneath and it was still easy to move around in and looked great. Extremely happy with this jacket.

Great for Cruising!

I've looked everywhere for a lightweight rain jacket for my Alaska cruise. This is perfect. I am 5'2 195lbs and bought the 1X petite so I could put a fleece underneath it. Plenty of room to do that without looking like a sausage. I would have preferred elastic cuffs to velcro but it's fine. Color is great. Zipper is quality. Super jacket.

Love the fit and color

I love this jacket. The color is beautiful. The jacket material is soft and lightweight. I was expecting something more stiff and noisy but it’s soft, and the lining feels nice and soft on my skin. I sized up since I like to have extra room for layers and to accommodate my long arms and wider shoulders. I usually wear a medium in jackets and I think a medium in this would have worked well but I like the Large. The sleeves are plenty long and it’s roomy for layers. I’m 5’8” 30C 25”waist 35”hips with a long torso and it covers my butt (just barely). The hood is nice and roomy and the pockets are deep. The measurements are: Pit to pit: 22” Length: 27.5” Sleeves from shoulder seam: 25” I hope it keeps me dry in the FL weather, I expect it will based on other reviews but I will update after I get a chance to wear it in the rain.
