Frequently asked questions

The Columbia Women's Arcadia II Jacket features an Omni-Tech membrane that offers excellent waterproof and breathable performance. This technology combines a water-repellent outer layer with an inner layer that allows moisture to escape, ensuring you stay dry and comfortable in wet conditions.

While the Arcadia II Jacket is excellent at keeping you dry, it is primarily a rain jacket and does not have significant insulation for cold weather. It's ideal for layering over warmer clothes in cold conditions but by itself, it provides minimal warmth and is best suited for mild to moderate weather conditions.

Yes, the Columbia Women's Arcadia II Jacket is lightweight and designed to be packable. It can be conveniently folded or rolled into a compact size, making it an excellent choice for travel or when you want to keep a rain jacket handy for unexpected weather.

To care for your Arcadia II Jacket and maintain its waterproof features, it is recommended to machine wash it in cold water with a mild detergent and tumble dry on low. Avoid fabric softeners or bleach. If the waterproofing begins to wear off, reapplying a water-repellent spray compatible with breathable fabrics can help maintain its weather-resistant properties.

  • Lightweight waterproof jacket update
Size: Medium Color: Marionberry
Wanted a lightweight waterproof jacket that would fall below my hips and allow for layering and based upon reviews went with this. It fits perfectly even when I put layers on when temps are in the 40’s. I haven’t worn it in the rain yet. This will also be good in warmer weather. Being so light, the jacket is great for vacation by not taking up a lot of luggage space. ... show more

  • Great lightweight jacket for Curvy Gals!
Size: 2X Color: Geyser
I needed a packable raincoat for camping as I’ve been caught in a couple of downpours while setting up and breaking down camp. We were heading into a weekend and the forecast called for heavy rain, so I knew ordering from Amazon may be slim pickings but was impressed to find this at such a great price! I think I got it on sale for around $34. It’s incredibly lightweight however, the morning I wore it, I had a short sleeve shirt on and then a sweatshirt on and felt pretty warm! Main thing is it kept me dry although we didn’t have any downpours as the forecast had called for, so I cannot attest to that at this moment. Just some light drizzle. I really like the zip pockets and that the front zipper comes all the way up to keep your face kind of covered, allowed you to adjust the hood if needed. I’m usually a 2x in tops and sometimes I size up to 3x in jackets for layering room, but this worked perfectly. I was able to zip it just fine with thicker clothes on and move around breaking down our tents and camp without being restricted. Love the bright color-it’s not too bright to be obnoxious neon lol! But just a pretty blue. There’s also Velcro at the cuffs but not quite sure how you’d really adjust those to make it tighter around your wrist without it being uncomfortable? Either way, this did the job I needed it for. I was able to fold it up and it would definitely fit In a backpack for hikes. If you’re plus size and on the fence go for it. I’m also 5’7 around 240 if that helps. I’m a big review reader so I like to be specific to help others make decisions. :) ... show more

  • Comfortable and Fits Well
This jacket seems to be just what i wanted, A waterproof but not overly warm or binding jacket. It's really a step up from a windbreaker. It fits on the large side which allows you to wear something bulky underneath if you want. I am short (5'1") so the sleeves are long (as usual) but there is a velcro strap around the wrist to tighten it. I like the color, (very light blue) but there were very few colors available. I had to look at many other colors to find one that was available in a medium size. ... show more

  • Size up one size for layering or buy two - one for cold and one for warmer weather!
I ordered this in 3X because that was the only size available at the time that I first ordered. I received it today. First off the color (lily red) is beautiful. I am not a fan of the Velcro "fasteners" on the front - might as well call them lint collectors and they tend to snag things. The fabric seems very soft and the jacket appears to be well made. There is a tag with a price of $100 on it. I purchased this jacket in red in size 2X and 3X for under $35 - what a deal! The hood is as someone else commented fairly small (it doesn't extend out very far), but I guess I'll just have to test it out. At least I'll be able to see when I am wearing it! There is a cinch elastic at the bottom, but it's just on one side and when I cinched the jacket, it just looked awkward. Size-wise, I wear a 2X in jackets and I actually have a 2X on the way so I will be able to compare. The jacket is very generously sized in the arms and shoulders - the hips not so much. It seems to be a fairly straight cut jacket. I will update this once I have the 2X to compare. As far as being versatile, this jacket might just fit the bill. It could be also used as a parka over a fleece jacket for colder weather. Update: I now have the 2X and the 3X. There is a significant difference in the sizing and quite honestly that’s a good thing. I’ve decided to keep both because the jackets will serve different purposes. The 3X is fairly long (27.75 inches in front measuring from collarbone - the 2X is one inch shorter) and there’s plenty of room for me to wear layers underneath. I just returned from a breezy walk on the beach in high 30’s/low 40’s temperatures and it was absolutely perfect paired with wind pants and fleece underneath. It definitely kept out the cold wind! You could probably use this as a ski parka with the right layers underneath. The size 3X jacket weighs 447 grams - just under a pound. It doesn’t appear to be “self-packable”, but fits nicely in a plastic one gallon Ziplock bag. The 2X will be better as a rain jacket and for warmer weather. It’s shorter in length and looks more tailored because it is more form-fitting. It’s a tad snug in the hips and I consider this a minor design flaw because otherwise the jacket is true to size in all respects. There are mesh-lined zippered pockets (6 in zipper) on each side of the jacket. I realized that they were mesh when the sand from the shells that I’d collected fell from the pocket. I’m not as excited about mesh pockets. I worry that they could get torn or catch on things over time - same with the mesh lining of the jacket. So far, the jacket has offered excellent wind protection. I’ll have to see how it does in rainy weather. Don’t expect this jacket to have a stylish, fashionable fit and you should be happy overall with your purchase. ... show more

  • Amazing Jacket
I love this rain jacket. I liked the pockets, hood fit well and easy adjustable, zipped up high to keep rain out. I like the cuffs they were adjustable so that rain wouldn't run down your arm. Great length. Unfortunately it was to small.I ordered a 1X size. I wasn't able to zip up the jacket. It did not fit. When I looked to see if they had a 2X size they did not. So, I had to return to return the jacket. I would recommend this rain jacket. ... show more
