I use to be a back country guide, and I own Colombia ski jacket with the Omni-tech. I am pretty picky about my outdoor gear. Price to features, is important to me. I wanted a light shell, that packed small. A rain jacket that is back in the car, does you no good when a surprise rain hits. Just got this jacket, and it rained an hour later. So far so good. Kept me dry, and broke the wind. I am 5-11, 160 pounds. Ordered the Large. Fits great. I am still able to wear say a t-shirt and a sweat shirt under it, possibly even a fairly thick sweater or another jacket. An under appreciated feature of this jacket, that I really like in my ski jackets, is vents under the arm pits. If it is raining out or just windy and cold, and you are hiking or doing other physically intense activity, you are going to sweat. When you stop you are going to be just as cold, as if you had got soaked by the rain. Those under arm zipper vents let you control your temperature better. You can get hypothermia, while staying completely out of the rain, from just sweating too much. That one will sneak-up on even the most experienced outdoors people.

This lightweight rain jacket has all the quality and style you expect from the Columbia brand. The waterproof material looks and feels great. It is very lightweight with a mesh lining. It doesn't have any inside pockets--perhaps because it's meant to be worn as an outer shell (?) and the designers are expecting you to have pockets in your under layers. There are zippered pockets on the outside, deep enough to keep your hands warm or hold a bunch of things. It seems pretty true to size, my chest is 43-44 and the Large fits great, with room for something warm underneath. I got the blue, which is close to the color in the photos in the description. Although it's close to a royal blue, it's a bit lighter so it is eye-catching both in terms of aesthetics and safety. The hood can't be zippered away completely but rather there is a velco strap in the back if you want to tuck it. I am probably just going to leave the hood out because that kind of closure can get annoying kind of fast. It's the kind of lightweight rain jacket you'd want to keep in the car or handy for getting the dogs out in the rain. It seems a bit pricey for "just" a rain jacket, though.

I bought the Large size jacket and the chest and torso fit well, but the sleeves were super tight. I have regular/decent sized arms. The jacket sleeves were so tight they felt like compression sleeves. What really sucks is that I bought this on sale at 35% off. Now to exchange it I need to pay full price.....

Overall, this is what you'd expect from Columbia. Works well although the rain I wore it in was pretty light. No signs of moisture on my clothes underneath. Nice bright color to stand out in a cloudy day. I usually wear an XL or XXL. I got the XL in this jacket. It's roomy enough for layers underneath except in the arms. They are fairly tight. I would be hard pressed to get a thick layer underneath based off of the arms. This is why I knocked off a star. Overall, this is exactly what you should expect from Columbia and probably won't be disappointed.

This is no exception. It's a very nice deep blue color and its fits just right on my kid, who's about 5'8, 135. Would highly recommend this.

Most rain jackets are honestly not that great looking and that is where I feel this jacket sets itself apart. It keeps you dry and warm while also managing to look and fit as well as most normal jackets. I wear a medium and the fit for me was perfect. The omni tech does a great job of keeping heat in to make this jacket effective in cool weather as well. The fact that it can pack into one of its pockets is a huge plus as well so you can keep it on hand without taking up a lot of extra space. Very happy with this jacket.
