Searched for a quality woolen coat for winter. Have a lighter coat that was cotton and sherpa, or thinner types. Due to my work I wanted a work coat that would last, be durable, and keep me warm. Legendary Whitetails kept coming up. Compared them to other coats and read the reviews. Ordered this coat. Overall it is by far the warmest, thick winter coat I have ever had the pleasure to own. Has 99% of what I was wanting in a coat. Had a woolen exterior, with Sherpa lining, and an insulation material in between. The sleeves have the quilted lining, no Sherpa in the arms. Quality zipper with a storm flap, and an extra wide collar that keeps the lower head and sides warm. The zipper can zip full length as well. Two large slash pockets that are quilt lined on both sides, two chest pockets with a classic button closure - with a spare button attached to the care instructions on the lower side of the coat. The only option I do miss that this coat does not have is an inside pocket, or pockets. If the coat did have inside pockets, one open, the other with a zipper, this coat would be the perfect coat for anyone. This is not a deal breaker however, more for a convenience option. This coat has some medium bulk, two insulated panels with a gap to keep one quite warm and dry. And so far this coat has exceeded my expectations on keeping me warm when outside or when driving. This is not one of those coats that can be worn indoors where it is already warm. Gets too hot to wear indoors for very long, maybe a few minutes at best. I trust it will keep me quite warm this year. The coat is not heavy, yet is quite resilient to the external temperatures. So far have warn it in 16° F weather. It will get its test more in the next few months. This coat can double as a blanket, and even as a lap blanket. Super soft, does not itch, and quite warm. Only wished I had gloves and a pair of outdoor riding chaps made from the same material so I could enjoy the outdoors while riding a recumbent trike. 100% Recommended. Over the past 12 - 18 months, I've purchased an a very large amount of flannels; shirt jackets; henlys; hoodies; all by Legendary Whitetails. They have become my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE brand. They are such a much better quality than any other brand that it frustrates me that I didn't try them sooner. Today, this coat arrived and I couldn't be happier. When I made the purchase, I really wasn't 100% certain what I was going to get, as far as the weight/warmth. But I've been blown away by everything of theirs that I've purchased, I was pretty sure I wouldn't be let down. A) Size: I am 6' 3" and bounce between 225 - 240, depending on the time of the year. Thankfully, LW comes with tall options. I tried it on with just a t-shirt, and there was plenty of room. My point being, I would be wearing a base layer or even 2, when I wear it, so the fit would be perfect. B) Weight/Warmth: My body thermostat has run high all of my life. It takes some pretty cold temperatures, and me being in them for an extended period of time, before I was to bundle up. This coat, to me, would be a Winter coat. It's VERY warm. It has a solid weight without being cumbersome. I'm aware not everybody has the same likes/dislikes of cold weather, so someone could easily wear this in Fall temps. In short.....It looks amazing.......It fits perfectly.....It's extremely well made.....and you can't beat the price. If you're on the fence about whether or not to buy it, just do it. It's nice and warm and fits well. I was worried about the zipper but that is holding up well. The only bad thing is that one of the pocket liners has ripped. Easily fixed but I think the liner material should be thicker.

Warmer than I was expecting. Does a great job of cutting the wind. Sleeves aren’t lined but I wasn’t expecting them to be (read the description people!). This arrived just as November in Michigan was starting to feel like November in Michigan and it’s perfect for our late fall weather. I’m 6’3 240-ish and XL-Tall fits well, a little snug around the middle but that’s because my Covid 19 wound up being more like 20, can’t fault the jacket for that. Length is perfect. Works great with a midweight turtleneck, haven’t tried it with anything heavier yet.Been wearing it a bit over a week and so far it’s been perfect for walking my dog on cold windy mornings. Feels and appears to be well made, I’m hoping it lasts a long time. A few reviewers complained about the pockets not being deep enough but I’m finding them plenty deep enough for my XL hands and also deep a enough to carry my phone without worrying about it slipping out. So far i’m very happy with this purchase. I’ll update this review if that changes but I don’t expect it to. ... show more
