works well. Tested it in speed trap area and yes It gives over a 1000 ft advance notice. Further if you have a clear line of site. The cops in my area use Ka and the traffic speed detection signs use K. So this is a good fit for me.

Perfect for those who aren't heavy speeders but want something to give them some fair warning. Fantastic detector is used with Waze too. I've been impressed with the 480i and 700i as well - I did write a detailed review on those if you're looking for more feedback. As far as the 380 though: It does the job for the "average" driver. Let’s be real: the thrill of speeding comes with the added excitement of possibly seeing red and blue lights in your rearview mirror. But thanks to the Cobra RAD 380, I can now channel my inner Fast and Furious vibes without worrying about the local authorities interrupting my ride. I did the responsible thing and tested it with my local cops (strictly for science, of course), and let me tell you, it works like a charm—though you do have to be pretty close before it really starts screaming ‘SLOW DOWN OR FACE THE CONSEQUENCES!’ For the price, this little device does a fantastic job of keeping you one step ahead in the game of cat and mouse. It detected radar from both the front and rear, which is perfect because there’s no worse feeling than thinking you’re in the clear, only to get tagged from behind. The adjustable sensitivity ensures I’m not getting false alarms from every automatic door, and the digital signal processing? Well, let’s just say it’s keeping my driving record nice and clean—so far. It may not be 100% foolproof, but for the price, it gives me enough of a heads-up to reconsider my life choices before I find myself explaining them to an officer. Does have false alarms, but goes absolutely nuts when there actually is a cop so it's easy to know the difference. Way better then nothing and would recommend this to anybody that wants a easy plug in and it just works solution. Knowing that everybody is going to slam on the brakes once they see a cop you already know is there makes you more aware and that is the best use for these in my opinion. So if you are on the fence, buy it. Easily worth it. I couldnt care less about Bluetooth and gps functions so this is perfect. ... show more

Tested it while driving for visible road radars. It is a hit or miss, with more misses in my experience. It did not detect even the in-car laser radars. So disappointed. ... show more
