Just a word of warning to start off, even though this is a 500 W power inverter, you have to wire it directly to the battery in order to achieve that. If you use the cigarette lighter cable, it is only rated for 150 W. So be aware! Having said that, I bought the necessary size cables 5 AWG, 60 amp fuse, and wire loom to protect the wires, installed it in my work truck turned it on and worked flawlessly. I bought this for our road trip from St. Louis to Orlando. I was able to run my laptop and charge tablets. It was nice to be able to plug it into the 12 V cigarette outlet and not have to run a heavier gauge wire into the cabin of the vehicle. It does have a low voltage alarm, which will sound and shut itself off. This really only occurred when we would start the car so just make sure that it’s off prior to starting. ... show more

Well it just died. Been out in the green house running fans on solar now its beeeeeep overload error. Took a look around and the fans which cool it are failing and making noise. It was rock solid til today but at over 100 bucks im gonna try a different brand this time around. Lasted about 2 yrs undercover in a green house. That's not really a 5 star product. I would guess anywhere solar power is in use is probably a garage or something not in the a/c and in the humidity so i'd guess this one belongs in a truck or something more out of the humid air. ... show more
