  • Good detector
Style: Detector
I got this during some promotion - black friday or prime day or something, for about $300, so it was certainly a great value at that price. Vortex Radar has good reviews of this unit. I bought this to replace an older V!, and it is equal in detection, and an improvement in other features. At its normal price of about $450, I really don't know if it's the best choice at that price point, but I assume that it's a pretty good choice. The only warning is that the manual is not thorough at all, and the instructions for updating the firmware caused many headaches. Fortunately, their support is very helpful, and they helped be get it updatd. ... show more

  • Just bought this on sale.
Style: Detector
This detector is plug and play. The app is very useful to help set up lots of different parameters. Love the fact that it’s very quiet and not false alerting. So far (3 days use) it nailed a local radar gun, and I had sufficient time to slow down. I agree with the other reviews that the screen could be a tad bit larger, but it’s not a deal breaker . The verbal warning ( volume @ 60%) is what you pay attention to and then you try to catch a glimpse at the arrows to locate the direction and what type of radar is being used. But you can always review the app to see your data. I’m thrilled with the pricing ( on sale @ $299) compared to $500-800 with its competition. This is my first Cobra, and I’m glad I decided to purchase it . Best of Luck. ... show more

  • Tested with the Michigan State Police
Style: Detector
I tested the unit with the Michigan State Police, I turned all K band and Laser off, and all KA band on as it’s what state and other local agencies prefer. The radar was being shot down range on a freeway directly at the passing cars and I would drive into the radar to simulate a speed trap. I picked up my first KA chirp about a mile away from the the cruiser through the trees, the cruiser was not in visual range yet. As I approached the gun the radar detector behaved how I expected with the strength meter slowing increasing until finally maxing out when gun was pinging me. The directional indicator accurately picked up where the source or the radar was coming from, first in front of me and then it switched as I passed the cruiser to behind me. I thought the radar detector preformed well in the oncoming test, in the next test the cruiser would remain in the same position but I would be coming from behind him. The radar detector did not do as good of a job detecting radar being shot away from it. When coming from behind the cruiser I was in visual range and about a 1/4 mile when getting my first chirp, it still worked ok as the chirp happened almost immediately as I saw the cruiser. As I passed by the cruiser the directional indicator changed again and I noticed that the rear facing detector did not detect KA for as long as the front facing while having the gun pointed directly at it. Overall, you can rely on this, and the app is great as well. The Bluetooth and GPS functionality drew me to this detector specifically for motorcycle use. ... show more

  • Nice detector
Style: Detector
This detector is great except for the mount. Yes, it works, but it's not very secure when hitting a bump or a hard stop.

  • Almost half the price of Escort- same brain and performance!
Style: Detector
I am radar detector enthusiast and used and tested a lot of Beltronics radar detectors before from 940, RX65, and GX65 still own it. I also owned Escorts 8500, 9500i and 9500ix. Also used other Cobra and Whistler detectors some time ago. Btw Escorts 9500i and 9500ix had issues with finding GPS signal in the cars with heated windshields and Beltronics never had that. This Cobra radar detector is Escort's Max360 "clone" with even better filtering and reception range In some cases. It has Beltronics sound as well. I currently use both Radenso DS1 and Cobra DP360 and test it against my old GX65. Both DP360 and DS1 are great detectors with different features like arrows on Cobra and "stealth" on Radenso. I would say Cobra is definitely more quiet in the city driving even right from the box. I like both detectors. As I have great experience using detectors While driving and I rely on sound alert pattern only as usually detector is sitting behind the RV mirror. Cobra arrows do not help me a lot lol. Do I recommend Cobra DP360 - yes. April 4th, 2023 Update after 4 months use. Just recently had a long trip with 2 Radar Detectors. So here are 3 key facts: 1) CONS: DP360 missed one signal in KA band. Police car was sitting ahead after the right turn and on opposite side of the road shooting upcoming traffic in the rear, so signal went right into my windshield (there was concrete roadblocks in the middle, but my RDs are placed in the top, so not an issue) - Missed completely, there were no even one beep! :( Now I am a bit worried that it might miss other signals. Driving in the city is super-quiet. 2) My other Radar detector Radenso DS1 caught the signal right at the second the car faced the Radar gun - Great job! 3) Was passing undercover car and they turned on radar gun in KA band when I was like 10 feet away, both detectors went off almost at the same time. Radenso DS1 was like 0.5-1 second faster to alert than Cobra DP360. It was cool to see that arrow changed from front to rear as soon as I passed that car slowly. Usually I don't use arrows at all. CON: DP360 is how it alerts against Red light cameras or speed cameras.. ( I am not big fan of browsing through setting in RDs, so maybe there is a way to adjust it, not sure) but it alerts you of any type of camera and then it keep saying Red light camera and just shows on a screen what distance is left to camera and then, when you pass it, it just keeps silent.. So these pauses between alerts: "Red light camera" pause "Red light camera" pause... and when you passed camera finally.. So you either need to look at the RD seen to be sure you passed camera or wait a little for another "Red light camera" will not go off. PROS: Radenso DS1 works for Red light or Speed camera a bit different, it alerts you and then, when you approach closer alerts-beeps happen to be faster and when you pass camera it goes quiet. I like it better. Cons: Radenso DS1 Many alerts to Gatso RT3 and Gatso RT4, the only way to disable it in settings. Hope that helps. ... show more
