To shield my barbecue grill and pizza oven from the full sun that bakes my patio between 10:00 AM and 3:30 PM, and to provide some much-needed shade while I'm cooking, I ordered the Cobizi portable pop-up carport canopy. Assembly took two of us ladies approximately 30 minutes. The most time-consuming and challenging aspect was definitely inserting the pole into the top fitting; the rest of the setup was straightforward. For easier assembly, I'd recommend at least three people – one to guide the pole into place while two others secure the legs. It was quite difficult to keep the base grounded while simultaneously pushing upwards to achieve alignment in the center. The canopy material offers water resistance (though it's not designed for heavy downpours or strong gusts) and provides a significant 97.5% to 99% UV ray protection. The set comes with a convenient portable storage bag, along with four wind ropes, eight ground stakes, and four individual sandbags. My only real wish is that it included more than one sidewall; it looks like I'll need to buy the additional sides separately. This 10x10 foot canopy appears to be quite versatile, suitable for uses ranging from a mini carport to a small merchant's stand, as well as for camping and, of course, cooking. As this is my first experience with a canopy, the price seems comparable to others of similar quality and design. I'm eager to put it to good use throughout the summer months.

I can finally retire my old (cheap) canopy - we've seen some things together... but this is a dramatic upgrade! No more ducking my head to sneak under the edge thanks to the peaks on both ends! I was pleasantly impressed with the new locking mechanism (center peak) vs. the old locks at the top of each leg. Despite the same size when collapsed, it "feels" much more spacious under the canopy due to the height, compared to the old patched up version. The canopy favric seems to be about 25-50% heavier, too - anticipating many years of service life!

The first thing I'll say is that I do like this canopy. It's well made and heavy duty enough to last for quite some time. I read and re-read the product description trying to find the dimensions of the canopy when it's in the storage bag that's included and also find the weight. I never did see that, so I'll share them with you. The folded canopy in the storage bag measures about 10"x10"x45". It weighs somewhere between to 40 lbs and 45 lbs. I like the storage bag because it's large enough to fit the folded up canopy back into the bag without a strain. The way the frame folds and unfolds is really cool. Once it's up, it's very sturdy. The package comes with 8 stakes that are about 6.5" long. Those are just a little light-duty in my opinion. The holes for the stakes in the bottom of each leg could accommodate a larger stake, but probably nothing more than 1/4" in diameter. The reason I'm giving 4 stars is because of the one downside for me personally. I want to use this canopy when I camp (I always camp alone) and I find it VERY difficult for one person to set it up, even though the product description says it's a one-person setup and take down. The instructions included with the canopy say it requires two people and it warns against trying to do it alone. So I think the seller needs to correct that wording in the product description. If you want to try to do it alone, it takes quite a bit of effort and a little ingenuity to figure out how to keep the legs down while you're pushing upwards on the center button. It's just not that easy to get it done and because of that, I'm not sure how often I'll use this canopy for my intended purpose. Despite that negative, I do think the value for the money in the $110 ballpark is OK.

This is a really great canopy, especially for the price. While it definitely requires 2 people to set up, it is very sturdy. I love that it comes with bags to weight with sand--my last canopy blew over and broke because the stakes provided weren't long enough to do the job on their own. The carry bag is big enough to fit the cover and the side panel alongside the frame. It's heavy to carry, but once you get it in place, it's not going anywhere. I like the way the canopy top attaches to the frame with big, thick pieces of Velcro instead of flimsy straps (see my photo). I highly recommend this canopy, and can't wait to use it this summer!
