A complete bridge can provide violinists with professional and precise space for adjusting the tone. Rotate the pegs and insert them into the corresponding peg holes (insert tightly to prevent loosening) to tighten the strings and enhance stability. Use a tuner to adjust the strings to the standard pitch, and apply rosin to the bow. If a string comes off, there is no need to worry as it can be reinstalled. Simply tune it briefly, and it will be ready for immediate us
  • Friendly Reminders: Regarding the bow: The bow hair will expand or contract with changes in humidity. A slight looseness or the shedding of a few strands of bow hair is normal, and it can be used normally after adjustment. Regarding the strings: Vibrations during transportation may cause the strings to loosen or come off (this is quite common for new violins). You can easily adjust the violin's bow and strings by watching our video tutorials. You can also contact customer service after placing an order to obtain a detailed user guide

  • Great
Color: Classic Size: 4/4
I have now waited almost 2 months to post my review, in hope that it may be as insightful as possible. I originally ordered this set for my daughter, who wanted to join her school’s orchestra by playing the violin. I myself haven’t (Nor have any family member or anyone I know of) don’t know the first thing about setting up or playing a violin. This definitely provided me with a learning curve. After reviewing some videos online, and learning how to “Notch the bridge”, I then purchased a template and proceeded to do so. I was told by the teacher that the only “Significant” difference in low cost and more expensive violins (Far a beginner, anyway) is its ability to hold its tune. This makes it much more enjoyable to learn, since you don’t need to constantly take time to tune it too frequently. This violin appears to hold its tune remarkably well, and my daughter has tuned it only a few times (By herself via the included tuner). All in all, this has been I very pleasant experience overall and I (And mostly my daughter) have enjoyed it very much! It’s a well thought out, high quality kit. ... show more

  • A fine starter violin, great case and extras, and a decent sound.
Color: Black Shine Size: 4/4
There are so many things overall that are great about this violin. But do note that it is a very nice student grade violin, not a completely professional one. For the price this one will be great for starters, or students. Advanced students may want to look beyond this one. But all the cool things about it... - The finish isn't "perfect", but it is attractive. It's epoxy I believe, because there is some pooling around the inside of the edge curls (see photos) - The design is nice, the inlays and pegs look really attractive. I would think that a cool design like this would be attractive to students, or youth, and possibly be an incentive to play it more. - The standard bridge ships separately with this and the owner is required to put it on. It went on with little effort. Just be aware that the bridge's base that sits on the front surface is going to be slightly in front of it's crown, so a slight backwards angle is necessary because of the bow of the front panel it sits on. - The bow is a nice standard bow and it appears to be a very nice grade of hair used. But it takes awhile to rosin it up the first time, so keep rubbing. - 2 types of rosin were included, along with many extras like a full set of extra strings, and also an attachable shoulder pad for the underside, complete with the hardware. - The case is deluxe. Very impressed with the high quality of the materials used in it, and the cloth protectors and polishing cloth. - The sound? It does take awhile to tune a brand new violin and consistently putting pressure on the tuning pegs to tighten them, but once it was in tune, it had a very nice clear sound. The fingerboard is sturdy. Ok, there was an issue with this particular unit, there is a small crack near the scroll hole, but it's insignificant enough that we're not going to return it. Came that way out of the case. But we're ok with it. For the price, this is still a very good purchase. ... show more

  • Impressive Violin With Case
Color: Black Shine Size: 4/4
The violin itself is quite beautiful, with a black finish and what appears to be well-selected spruce and maple. The rosewood fittings add a touch of elegance. The sound is warm and resonant, definitely an improvement over my previous student model. The included accessories are a real bonus. The case is sturdy and well-padded, offering good protection. The bow is perfectly adequate for practice and even smaller performances. I appreciated the inclusion of a shoulder rest and an extra set of strings, everything you need to get started right away. This is an excellent violin set for beginners and intermediate players. While professionals might seek a higher-end instrument, this set offers exceptional quality and playability. I'm very happy with it and would recommend it to anyone looking for a complete and affordable violin outfit. ... show more

  • A very nice and complete beginners package—but be sure to read about an issue I had
Color: Classic Size: 4/4
The media could not be loaded. I've long been curious to try a violin. This is literally the first and only violin I've ever had in my hands, so you're getting a review from a musician, but not a violinist. The good—fully outfitted with: • An excellent case—much nicer than you'd expect at this price • The case includes straps in addition to the handle, and a humidity gauge, room for an extra bow • An electronic tuner that works well, battery included • An extra set of strings • Two kinds of rosin • Cleaning cloths • A mute to put over the bridge The bad—I did have one issue, which I was able to resolve, but it was one that would be a serious problem for someone who is not mechanically inclined: As I tuned the violin and would get up to the high strings, with high tension, the tuning would abruptly slip for all strings. After the third or fourth time, the tailpiece fell off. The tailpiece is secured by the "tail gut", a loop of nylon (or similar) that is threaded and uses brass fasteners to adjust and hook around the "button", a knob that sticks out the end of the violin. I could see right away that both brass fasteners were assembled backwards. There is a threaded cylindrical piece that screws on the nylon threads, with one end beveled and slotted. There is a small brass ferrule that the slotted end should press into. In that way, the more tension there is on the gut, the tighter the slotted end would squeeze the threads and avoid slippage. However, with that piece backwards, the increased tension stripped the threads. So one end of the gut no longer had good threads, I couldn't simply reassemble it correctly. Instead, I used a soldering iron to melt the nylon just a little bit, after screwing the piece on correctly. That stopped the slippage. After putting it back together, I seemed to still get a small amount of slippage on the "good end", despite being assembled correctly. And taking it apart again, I could see that it has slipped a few threads, though much less than before. After doing some research, I found it was a common practice, after adjusting the tailpiece, to trim the ends of the gut and use a lighter or match to cause the remaining nub to melt and ball up, so that the tailpiece could not slip further. I did something similar—I used the soldering iron to melt and flatted the ends. After putting everything back together and retuning, I left it for a day for the strings to stretch out, retuned, and it now stays in tune.. One positive thing about this ordeal is that I had to learn much about how violins are put together. After learning to rosin the bow, I was pleased to hear a nice tone. I don't know if the issue I had with the tailpiece assembly was a one-time fluke, but beware if you have problems getting it in tune. Accessing the gut requires that you loosen the strings, unhook them from the tailpiece, remove the chin rest (those brass piece on the end with the holes can be loosened by turning them counter clockwise by using a tiny screwdriver or similar as a lever in the holes), and unhook the gut from the button. ... show more
