- DANGER - The terminals on the XT30 connector were not soldered to the wires and were only held on with heat shrink tubing. This hid the improper/no solder problem. The connector fell off when I touched touched and needed to be re-soldered. If you get one of these, INSPECT the yellow XT30 connector. Give it a light tug. If a wire or wires from yours come loose, re-solder and re-insulate it, or put tape over the end of the disconnected wire to prevent short circuit and contact AMAZON for further instructions.

Fits well into a DIY Electric scooter.

The description indicated this battery fits 95% of scooters. I suppose I have the other 5%? It does not fit a GOTRAX APEX scooter without extensive modifications. First of all and as expected, installing the battery in this type of scooter is not an easy task. Some videos show the bottom plate being removed, pop out the old battery, and pop in the new one. Not the case with this GOTRAX model. The battery has to be removed from the back of the scooter. That is where the powered wheel is. So, think of it as the need to remove the engine from the car, to replace the battery, and then reinstall it. This battery is also larger than the stock battery, and this battery cannot fit in the same footprint as the original battery. The mounting holes on the battery do not line-up with the stock holes in the scooter to secure the battery. The charging cable connector is not long enough when installed. This cable needs to be extended by soldering an additional length of wire to get it to reach the charging port. The original mounting holes will need to be sealed to assure water does not enter the battery compartment. While it is possible to tightly squeeze the battery and controller back in to the base of the scooter, it results in a very, very tight squeeze for the components (battery, controller, and wiring). The battery and controller need to be secured in a creative manner, as the original holes to secure them can no longer be used. If you are expecting a "plug & play" experience, this is not the battery that fits in a GOTRAX APEX. In all fairness, it doesn't really fit, but you can make it fit. On the upside, the power rating of the battery is about 25% higher than the stock battery. So, I am expecting for all the creative work put into this replacement, to be rewarded with addition range when riding? Good luck to you if you choose this route for replacement!

I don't have this for an electric scooter but am instead using it for other projects. That said it is certainly not cheaply made. The cells are in a a solidly build holder that doesn't allow any flex and includes a nice PCB running the length of the pack for monitoring everything. All in a tough shrink-wrap that leaves no contacts exposed so no worries about shorts. I notice there is a constant blue LED blinking and while the current from it would be negligible it irks me the slightest amount that there is a constant draw. As an aside the specs on the listing have some odd stuff that seems charger-specific and unrelated to the battery. It mentions a "rated input voltage" of 100-240V, something that would give you a bad day if you really applied it to this pack. No documentation of charging it if you're not using a provided scooter charger but the input leads are 16 gauge at most. That's generally rated for 13A and even charging at 1C you'd only be doing 7.8A. If the misplaced specs are to be applied to a charge 71W that's only about 2 amps at 42V so I'd be more inclined to charge at about .25C to be safe. In any case the pack works for me and the only thing I'd change is more documentation on things like charging and the different connections.

This is a well made battery packs that is nicely packed. It has multiple connectors built in from the very basic scooters to the more advanced scooters with sensors and lights. Voltage and amps were good in my test. I got this to replace my 5400mAh battery that came in my stock scooter. Price is on about the standard you'd see for this size.
