  • Super Fast & does the Job !!
Style: 15.5mph 16mile 300W
Starting from a full charge, I rode around 5 miles through a steep college campus with a lot of elevation variation. The scooter handled nicely, with strong acceleration, and only suffered on the steeper hills (not sure what angle the hill was at, but walking up these hills for an extended period of time is challenging). The brakes were also excellent, and I always felt in command (see suggestions below). Even though I anticipate it may be approaching two bars when I returned, I still had three out of four bars (see cons below). The steering was agile enough to easily maneuver around other walkers while remaining stable at higher speeds.I couldn't acquire a good peak speed measurement since I couldn't find a long enough stretch of flat road, but I was easily able to achieve 16 mph without using full power. (Top speed will be determined primarily by rider weight, hill angle, and battery level.) Pros: - Excellent performance/quality for the price -Sturdy construction that isn't overly hefty Easy to use/ergonomic design Cons: -Battery gauge could use additional bars to more accurately display battery level. It will also drop down while climbing steep slopes, then rise again as you reach level ground. This is perfectly normal! When there is a large demand for electricity, every battery-powered device will do this. When climbing hills, you're fighting gravity, which requires a lot of energy depending on your weight. ... show more

  • Impressed
Style: 15.5mph 16mile 300W
This is my first electric scooter. I figured I would try one of these out since a lot of people in my neighborhood seem to have them, even 50 yr old ladies. I was a little put off on buying an e-bike because of the price so this was definitely an entry level option. Plus I saw while searching they have some sort of seat attachment on Amazon so I may purchase one later. Well I have to say it is super fun to ride! It takes off really fast or at least it feels fast lol. I really like the lights on it front and back plus reflectors. It only took a couple hours for a full charge. So far I gave 4 stars, I took one star because the box was a bit beat up and the foam inside was torn up from the shipping which made me a little nervous. And it does make noise but not sure that is normal so we will see the next time I ride. I will update after a few more rides but literally got it yesterday. Update: Almost a year later and I love this scooter! It has a great battery! I take it with me to the park and when I visit my family in MI! It’s super funny watching my Mom and Mother in law ride on holidays! If you are looking this is a good entry level machine. Had to give an extra star. My next door neighbor bought one for his son after seeing us play on mine! ... show more

  • Nice solid ride with great menu of features
Style: 15.5mph 16mile 300W
I am a recreational rider of mostly bicycles and fuel scooters in the past. I have only begun to venture into riding escooters and i started out on a Razor Prime III this spring. I wanted to expand my comfort level and range on a more powerful scoot so i looked around. I saw a few that appealed to me but the price was higher than i could afford. I got a Gotrax Ultra but it got stolen out of my car. My purple pal! I looked to buy it again but it was sold out. Then i found the Elite and it had a few more things on it that i prefered over the Ultra. Rear lighting, wider deck, no more 2nd gear, matte black color, among others. I ordered mine and then all of a sudden they were no more! Anyway, i wanted this longer range scooter so that I can ride it around and down bike paths exploring and more or less extending my walking through neighborhoods and over to the coffee shop or duck pond. It does all that and is not so heavy in it's weight that i cant get it in the car and over to other parks and trails. I am not so much interested in speed as i am in range and pulling hills and not breaking down on me when i am out "smelling the roses" with my snacks and camera. I am the only adult any age that i know of in my neck of the woods that rides an escooter, ebike, or regular bicycle. I get a lot of looks from adults and lots of interest from kids on kickscooters until I take off on the Elite. I hope to become more confident as this scooter intimidates me a bit with it's very touchy throttle and tight braking system. I am a very rank scooterist, starting later in life at 65, but determined to build my skills. I think that the Elite has longevity and will be a good basic scooter for me. I recommend it if you can find one. ... show more

  • Great scooter, bad tire/tube/wheel design. Have replacements on hand.
Style: 15.5mph 16mile 250w
Bought this scooter for my son for his 13th birthday a couple of months ago. He's a big kid and he appreciated the sturdiness of the scooter, the speed( (though he wants a faster one, that's not the fault of the scooter), and the battery life. Unfortunately I had to knock of 2 stars because of the tires. He went to ride it one day and the rear was flat. I inflated it and within an hour it was flat again. I'm a bike mechanic and I quickly diagnosed a leak in the tube with no damage to the tire. This is where things got fun. The tire is very hard to get off, and the tools I used resulted in additional damage to the tube so I couldn't tell where the original leak came from. I also marred the wheel and tire considerably. Through some online research I went with a tubeless "honeycomb" style tire so as to not have to deal with an unexplained flat again, but getting that on took all my skill, patience and strength. Now that it's done I feel like the speedometer isn't correctly calibrated, but my son is happy. GoTrax advertises the pneumatic tire as a "feature", but it's a disaster waiting to happen. ***UPDATE. Following this review GoTax reached out to me and offered a replacement tire for free, which I accepted. Because the changing process is still difficult I'm only giving 1 star back, but I appreciate the customer service. ... show more
