  • 17 months later still runs perfectly! LOVE this Scooter!
I bought this scooter in Sept 2020. I use it every day for commute to and from work, and it still runs like a dream it is literally the best purchase i've made in years. I bought it during the pandemic to avoid crowded sidewalks and its been a godsend. Level 3 goes up to 15mph so handy if running late and trying to catch that light! I mainly use Level 2 cruises at 10mph and best for safety and battery conservation. Level 1 goes 5mph good for if you must ride on sidewalk (not recommended, wheels are not high spec you will feel every crack, and you'll be that a-hol in peoples way) The LCD display is incredibly funtional and useful can switch from kph to mph, will show trip distance, clock time, lifetime odomoter, and more. Also its lightweight I carry it, unfolded, over my shoulder, going up 6 flights of stairs each day and its easy. The folding down part took a while to figure out. I find it easiest by kneeling on board, while pushing pole foward, and pulling lever towards me. IMPORTANT: Keep in mind its intended for that 'last mile journey' its battery life wont take you on a leisurely ride around for the day. Its for getting from A to B and back. And using level 3 drains batter faster as does going up hills. Use level 2 to conserve battery life. If you want something with higher motor power get your $$$'s out and buy higher spec model but you can't fault this sturdy functional scooter which is great value for money. I waited a long time for good deal before purchasing when price dropped so keep an eye out for special deal. I am just so happy with this Scooter highly recommend!! ... show more

  • Broke Quickly and Cannot Fix
Battery life was as expected. It was used minimally for less than a year and was always charged immediately after use. The throttle no longer works. It just quit one day. No damage to throttle or any other components for that matter. I asked if they could help me troubleshoot the scooter so I could buy parts and fix it as I'm aware the limited warranty has expired. After telling me that they couldn't possibly know which part was broken without having the unit at their facilities (which isn't what I had asked) they said that the parts I am "looking for" are not available. Now somebody tell me how this makes sense. Huge waste of money. Get a different product with hopefully better quality and adequate customer support. If I'm going to spend hundreds of dollars on something, I better be able to fix it when it breaks. ... show more

  • Awesome. Solid adult transportation.
Better than expected. While looking for a adult electric scooter, I had some very stringent requirements: (1) It couldn't look like an electric scooter, with a big battery compartment hanging underneath. (2) It had to have a weight limitation well over 250 lb. (3) It had to have a top speed of at least 15 mph. (4) It had to have a "real world" range of at least three actual miles. (5) It had to fold. (6) It had to have a price point of less than $300, and hopefully closer to $200. The Hover-1 Rally was the only one that met all of this criteria at the same time, meaning that it doesn't look like it has a battery, and it will carry a 250 lb person at 10 -15 miles per hour, for 3 miles. After two days of testing, I can say that it passed with flying colors. A COUPLE NOTES: * You should probably factor into your cost, the price of a motion sensing alarm and ridiculously heavy duty bike lock, and I'm not talking about about the $10 bicycle "chain" type locks either. * The "up to 7 Mile range" rating is probably unrealistic. If it's a 100 lb child going 5 miles an hour, maybe. If the battery life improves after going through a few charge-discharge cycles, I will edit this part of the review. * This thing is really heavy duty, and I don't expect for any parts on it to bend or break anytime soon. * The headlight is ridiculously bright, enough that if you are on a sidewalk at night, oncoming traffic might complain. * The electronic lever for breaking works very well, and the manual rear emergency brake can stop you almost instantly, so I would suggest that you practice with it at low speed first. * The small round digital dashboard is easy to read. * If it takes 4-5 hours to completely charge, but if you're not running at full speed with a heavy person on it, you're not going to have to charge it as often as you think. I would like to see a fast charger, and a car cigarette lighter plug-in adapter for charging. * The manufacturer does not have a money back guarantee, but Amazon does, so that is a definite advantage. • Not bad for the price
Front wheel squeaks pretty bad after a few rides. Range isn't great. Lose a fair amount of power when around 50% battery. Though I do like the electric break. Allows for a gradual stop. Foot break to stop faster. The front light is very bright and works great. The display can hardly be seen in just about any sunlight. That being said though. Not a bad scooter for the price. ... show more

  • Check the lugs - especially on the front wheel
Well, just after the 90 day warranty expired, my son's scooter motor quit working. I looked closer and saw that the wires at the hub had spun with the entire wheel assembly and broke. I contacted Hover-1 and asked for some help or guidance, since this is OBVIOUSLY a manufacturer defect. I know it's beyond the 90 day warranty, and so it's technically on me. They offered no suggestions and no direction, and actually said they were not going to help. I'm not asking for a new scooter or a new wheel assembly or wiring harness. It would be nice if they put in the instructions for the consumer to double check the factory's work and make sure the wheel lug nuts are tightened so they don't spin and ruin the entire scooter. Or, it might be nice if they offered spare parts - like a new wheel assembly or harness. Again, I get it, they don't owe me anything since this managed to make it past the 90 days before it broke. For the record, I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT. ... show more
