Description

The FL85R Headlamp is our most potent rechargeable LED headlamp. The light features built-in rechargeable lithium battery, which charges via the included USB cable. The first button on the headlamp gives you the ability to shine an ultra wide flood beam and then quickly twist the bezel to a long reaching spot beam with transition halo. The second button on the headlamp enables the user to switch rapidly to a fixed red LED light to preserve night vision. It also includes a reflective safety strap for additional safety benefits. With Coast’s commitment to quality, the FL85R Headlamp is impact resistant, weather resistant and its LED is virtually unbreakable. I like that the product has options of using rechargeable battery pack and putting In your own aaa battery I work at overnight in a quarry and best bet every one grabbing aaa batteries like crazy one thing tho is that I did not receive helmet clips or usb box charger which was advertised on having those two items ... show more

Wow this is BRIGHT, especially when you focus the beam. My favorite things are that you can turn it on and off and even focus the beam all while wearing thick insulated leather work gloves. I'd prefer if it didn't start in super high mode and that the vertical adjustment were infinite (this has several positions which click). However, for the money, it can't be beat. It even comes with 3 AAA batteries so you can get going while you charge the included battery pack with the included charger. I use this for inspecting aircraft during maintenance. I actually turn it to the lowest setting for most tasks to save battery but when you need it the bright setting is awesome. I’ve had other coast rechargeable lights and was happy with them too but this one kicks butt. I ordered this one after loosing my smaller model while camping. I have a predecessor light with rechargeable batteries that have to be removed to charge. The batteries were a real pain to get out every just too tight a fit. This new light has a great charger plug so no need to mess with batteries. When charging you have a red light then a bright green. No doubt there. The lumens on this light are why I got a second one. Many lights this powerful have a battery in back which I don’t like as much and the eight of this is no problem but I don’t wear it for more than 30 minutes to walk the dogs. I like the adjustable beam pattern but mostly leave it on wide to walk dogs in the rain for best visibility by cars. Cars see this lamp and in the rain I temporarily go to high as they approach but generally lowest setting is enough to walk the neighborhood. Nice big buttons are great to operate with gloves.
