This is a nice kit that would make a great present for a preteen. The beads are not made from ceramic clay but from polymer clay. This is much better because the natural clay beads tend to break. These beads are very sturdy. There was not one broken bead in the whole package. The beads are very solid and smooth. The organizer tray divides the beads - with the lid on. Be sure to lay the box flat when you open the lid. All the necessary tools to make small bracelets or necklaces are included. A small pair of scissors, stretchy thread, and tweezers. You get a lot of beads and many choices to make really fun pieces. There are so many beads in this kit my picture doesn’t do justice to it. I purchased this for my 9 year old granddaughter for her birthday and she is thrilled! She loves making friendship bracelets to give to her friends at school, now when she has one of her friends over and when they decide to get crafty they just start making jewelry! What's not to love with this comprehensive little bracelet-making kit! Lots of bright colors of polymer "clay" beads, all sorts of fun additional things like letter beads, metallics, bows, pearls, hearts, happy faces, fruit, charms, shells. Tools include a pair of tweezers (very necessary, since these are pretty tiny), and a little pair of scissors (pretty basic, but they're easily replaced). There are a couple of skeins of elastic (light weight, might want to double up) and lots of assorted metal findings (jump rings, knot caps, and lobster claws) (these do appear to be pretty light weight, I'm not sure how durable they will be). Everything is packed in a very nicely designed plastic box that could be used for many things after these supplies are gone.
