  • READ - This Review is for NOVICE/STARTER Toolers ONLY!
Color: Golden Red Size: D1 Pro 10W Basic
First-off - I don't have enough words to praise how awesomely built this product is. The Red color makes it look better than any other competitor in the market. Now coming to the review part. I am hoping this review will not be taken in negative way, even though I am going to only mention the downside of using it. However, these downside only applies to New Users. OKAY - so you are super impressed with what you can do with laser cutters/engravers, have seen bunch of cool videos from professionals on Youtube and now you think 'I CAN DO THIS'. Well - Here is the REALITY CHECK 1. This tool has a huge learning curve around measurements. If you have struggled your whole life until now between Inch, CM, mm - Do Not Buy this product. Everything is Manual. Some might say semi-automatic, but again; if you struggle with measurements - this product won't make it easy for you 2. No Camera - This goes back to point#1, since the tool does not have projection camera to capture image of the item you plan to cut or engrave, there is a possibility of a lot of errors and waste of material. 3. Assembly - Although, I will say assembly is super-easy. There is a possibility that someone might tighten the belt too much resulting in error, or break the delicate wire connector or even worst, drop the lens. If you do buy it - just look at the assembly video on YouTube and avoid instruction manual. So What Should You Do? Save some money and buy - xTool M1 10w. WHY? Well - because it is ready to use out of the box. It has a camera to capture the material image and project your design on it. This is so insanely awesome, that you can literally design things with minimal mathematical calculations. Who should use this tool? If you know your stuff, have been engraving for a while - This is a very economic product and will do the job just as fine as xTool M1 10w. xTool - If you make these distinctions clear in your product comparisons, I think it will reduce the number of returns and exchanges will happen. Also - There needs to be a very articulated training videos/lessons for newbies. I did see some videos, but they are a half-hearted attempt. ... show more

  • Xtool D1 Pro Is The Best
I purchased my XTool D1Pro several months ago and have used it on a regular basis ever since. I am impressed with the precision fit and quality of the parts that make up the machine. It performs very well whether you are engraving or cutting. The operating software is easy to use and connecting the laser engraver couldn’t be easier. And, as an added bonus XTool has excellent customer service if you should happen to need it. I’m sold on XTool products and you should be too. You will not regret it! ... show more

  • Great machine, easy to use and worth every penny!
Color: Gray Size: D1 Pro 10W with Rotary RA2 Pro
I purchased this machine and was intimidated by it at first. Owning plotters like the Silhouette and Cricut, I thought this would be over my head. It was NOT! I had my husband put it together and that Christmas I made ornaments for my bosses at work that were a great hit! I used it to make tressels for my husband's trains and to engrave photos for his platform. I made myself a ton of earrings that are one a kind! I made many decor items for my house and I am thrilled beyond measure with this machine. I know I have not reached it's capibilites! I purchased the 10W and when I saww the 20W laser module on sale I bought that and it fit right on my machine and I have been cutting with that for a couple weeks now. I will say one thing I had a small issue with the 10W module, it suddenly stopped. It would run the design route but not beam was coming out. I reached out to customer service, they asked for a video of what was happening and they immediate sent me a brand new replacement. Now that is customer service! Could not recommend Xtool enough! ... show more

  • Great Laser Engraver/Cutter but be sure to Closely Research
Color: Golden Red Size: D1 Pro 10W with Rotary RA2 Pro
I'm a 3D Graphic Artist and thought I would dip my toes into doing some wood projects (sometimes its nice just to be able to hold your work in your hands) I bought this as it seemed like a well rounded laser cutter/engraver overall and thus far I have thoroughly enjoyed using it. Setup was fairly easy, I was up and running with the included software fairly quickly (though I do most of my work in Adobe Illustrator so for me most of the laser end is enter settings, frame, and hit the button). The pricing is accessible to those who otherwise may not be able to afford trying something like this. Likes: General Ease of Use Expandability Affordable Price Point I now have "Laser Cutting Project" dreams when I'm sleeping (Yes I am enjoying it that much) and it really does open up a world of potential and possibility. Dislikes: Confusing Online information There is a D1 (discontinued I believe) and then the D1 Pro. A lot of the information you will find is on the original D1 10 watt rather than the D1 Pro 10 watt and I have no clue what the differences between them are if any. The D1 Pro also has multiple different power diodes you can use with it/buy with it (5 watt?, 10 watt, 20 watt, 40 watt, and then a fiber laser) When watching videos online or even browsing/reading the xTool website, often the information being given doesn't differentiate WHICH of the different diodes is being used specifically or which ones can do what things. The information for all of them is all on the page (seemingly the same here on Amazon as well). So some materials it says the D1 Pro can cut may not be able to be cut with the 10 watt (or, if it can be, it may take considerable amounts of time) The information for the 10, 20, and 40 watt diode lasers are all mixed together making it hard to know what applies to the laser "you" have/bought (and even some of the fiber laser info seems to be mixed in there). Even searching YouTube specifically for "xTool D1 Pro 10 watt" will give you videos with everyone using all different diodes - generally without listing which diode is being used. I wish I would have realized that before purchasing as I may have bought the 10 watt + 40 watt diode version (which pretty much covers all your bases - 10 watt being more detailed for engraving and 40 watt being superior for wood cutting and having a larger range of materials from what I can tell after lots of reading) rather than just getting the 10 watt. I'd thought the 10 watt could do all the things I was seeing. It wasn't until after I purchased that I realized that information on the website and in YouTube videos were all using different laser diodes. Consider if you may want the Extension Kit before solidifying your purchase: I also wish I knew about the extension kit before I all ready bought the honeycomb etc since getting the extension kit means repurchasing some things I've all ready purchased that would then be useless. (If you get the extension you would then need to buy a different honeycomb and also buy the extension for the enclosure - now at least the enclosure you can buy pieces to add on to the regular one - but the combination of the base plus extension costs about $50 more than if you just bought the full extended case to begin with) All in all, getting the extension kit later will cost you an extra $250 (buying a completely different honeycomb and the difference between buying the case + extension rather than buying the extended case out the gate.) xTool needs to make a solid enclosure (the current one is flame retardant polyester): Not a deal breaker but enclosure wise I think Id have preferred something more solid. That said, the enclosure does a perfectly fine job. This is more a preference for me with the 10 watt though if you buy the 40 watt diode version, depending on what you are cutting, it may not be enough to suite your needs without modifications or making your own case for it (lots of videos on YouTube cover this topic) Now I know that seems like I spent a lot of time on the negatives but they are things I wish I knew/understood better before purchasing/when deciding what I wanted to buy. That said, I do not regret my purchase, I just may have gone for the extension and potentially the 40 watt instead of this unit or, as mentioned above, gone for the combo 10/40 diode set or possibly socked a bit extra away and went for the P2. So far though I am thoroughly enjoying the equipment and I am truly impressed with the quality. I really look forward to seeing what I can do with this as I grow more comfortable. I'll add some pictures or maybe a video at a later time but all in all LOVE the unit, just wish information was given/labeled a bit more clearly/precisely on the website, here on Amazon, and on YouTube videos. Hope this helps someone else as they decide what to buy. ... show more
