  • Great Cigar Humidifier
I've had trouble for a long time keeping my cigars in the 60 to 65% humidity range that I prefer. The interior of my humidor measures roughly 45"W x 27"H x 14"D. It's lined in spanish cedar, has two slotted shelves and two hinged doors that open the entire front side. I usually have 10 to 12 boxes on the floor, which is also where the Oasis II sits. The two shelves together hold eight mesh baskets. Each basket holds about 40 cigars, with a couple more boxes on the second shelf. All together I typically have around 600 cigars on hand. I was using a much smaller Oasis XL Plus. During the winter heating season, it had to be refilled three to four times a week to stay in my target humidity range. The humidor is sealed and gasketed but is not 100% airtight. Tired of constantly refilling the XL Plus, I decided to try the much larger Oasis II. Wow - what a difference! With the Oasis II, I can now go over a month without refilling. It's reservoir is many times larger than the XL Plus. And with its top side reservoir cap, I can easily refill it without having to take it out of the humidor, as I did with the XL Plus to open its top half to refill. The dual fans are another excellent design feature. One fan runs constantly to insure the moist air circulates evenly throughout the humidor. That eliminates any dead-air or dry spots, and ensures all the cigars are at the same level of humidity. The second fan kicks in only when its sensor tells it to draw more humid air from the reservoir. The remote humidity gauge has large, bright red numerals that I can easily read from across the room. I also have a second electronic humidity gauge with a wireless remote readout that typically reads about 5% lower than the Oasis II. I split the difference for an average of about 63%. Just a tad on the drier side because I prefer the feel that creates, versus 70%, which feels a little damp to me. But if that's what you like, the Oasis II can easily get to 70%+ and stay there. It's fairly quiet, with a soft hum when nothing else is creating any sound in the room. Its foot print is about the size of two corona boxes, end to end, and a little more than two boxes high. The power cord and the cord for the humidity gauge are both long enough that I didn't need any extensions. Overall this is a great product. It's a smart design with all the features a real cigar enthusiast wants in a good humidifier for a larger humidor. The Oasis II is a great value for its price and will in turn take excellent care of your smokes as they age over time. ... show more

  • Perfect for my large cabinet humidor! Perfect for my large cabinet humidor!
Size: Magna
I've been using the Cigar Oasis Magna for about 2 years, and it's a fantastic Humidifier. I have a large cabinet humidor, generally with about 2,000 cigars in it. The Oasis has no problem holding constant 65% humidity (65% is my preference, but the Magna 3 can easily hold higher humidity levels, if desired), and has performed flawlessly. The Oasis also has connections for external fans, which I'm using to power a couple small fans in the upper corners to allow for good airflow inside the humidor. The humidity level shown on the electronic display goes out of adjustment sometimes, but it can be calibrated manually. I recommend putting one or two calibrated hygrometers in your cabinet to keep the Oasis honest. What I do is calibrate my external hygrometers every couple months using the "salt method", and then adjust the Oasis to match. If you're using a smaller humidor or a tupperdor, Boveda packs are the best way to go. If you've got a large cabinet humidor, however, you definitely need this! ... show more

  • Awesome - Highly Recommended!
Size: Magna
I have a decent size humidor and I purchased this to maintain a large selection of cigars I own. Worked great, and after I seasoned my humidor, this system worked very well and maintains the humidity nicely!

  • Does a Nice Job! Does a Nice Job!
Size: Magna
I purchased the Cigar Oasis Magna to go with a Montegue End Table Humidor that I purchased at the beginning of the year. I live in Southern California where the temperature is mild and the humidity from the ocean stays about 40 - 60 %. The Magna was easy to set up. I have an upper drawer and two cabinet doors underneath. I placed the unit on the bottom shelf in the back and the sensor in the top drawer. It runs well and quiet, and with the large reservoir I only need to fill it about once a month. I do not use the 2 auxiliary fan as they don't seem necessary for my setup, but I tried them and they work well. I have a digital hygrometer that I keep in the unit to check the humidity level and it stays very consistent. I keep my RH at about 69-70 and it has no problems keeping it there. It was a great purchase and I recommend it. ... show more

  • Works As Described.
I'll try to be fair with my review. I have a large cabinet humidor. I have used a Vigilant humidifier for an unbelievable 20 years. Finally it stopped working. Vigilant has a 6 to 7 week lead time for humidifiers. So I needed something NOW. The Magna 3.0 was the best option. The unit arrived quickly and was well packaged. The unit included easy to follow instructions and the Supplier follow up with an e-mail to make sure that I was satisfied. It took more time to empty the humidor than it did to set up the Magna 3.0. It is a snap. Operationally, I set my humidor at 68% RH. The Magna 3.0 reached the set point within 35 minutes. The unit routinely varying from 66% to 68.4% RH. All of this is within the operating guidelines for the unit. As a side note, my unit works easily with regard to establishing a set point. As a "trial", I used a variety of setting at first just to see how the unit would react. I waiver between 65 and 72% RH just for my trials. The unit consistently produced a variance of +/- 3%. But the dominant time stayed at the desired setting. As for the fan, I do not agree with other reviews that the fan is "quiet". But my only comparison is to my Vigilant which IS quiet. That said, the amount of fan noise is not a concern. It is just something that I can hear at a distance of 8 feet from my humidor. BUT, it is a low noise and in most cases would probably become "blue noise" and not noticed at some point. As for the esthetics of the unit, the Magna 3.0 leaves something to be desired. The unit is extremely light-weight plastic and at first glance, one would say, "this is cheap". It is even reasonable to ask, "why did I pay the price that I did for this cheap looking item.". Well, I have to believe that the cost is associated with the electronics of the unit. So, if you have a high, furniture quality humidor like I have, the Magna 3.0 will add no esthetics to your unit. But again, my only other comparison is with the Vigilant which I opted for a hardwood case on the humidifier. Bottom line, the Magna 3.0 works. It is easy to set up and operate. Its operating tolerance with regard to maintaining an RH setting is acceptable. My primary issue is that the unit just plain looks and feels "cheap". It is definitely not comparable to my previous humidifier but then again, I paid 3 times the price for the other. Do I expect 20 years of service life from the Magna 3.0, no I don't. Add-on comment, I took apart my "other" humidifier and messed with it. Now the Vigilant works once again. I had a cable problem with the remote sensor. I will continue to use the Magna 3.0 for a while or until I just plain want to change it out. So far, I would not have any problem recommending the Magna 3.0 to others if they have a large cabinet humidor. ... show more

  • Don’t Purchase! Not worth it
Size: Magna
Very disappointed with this purchase. I read nothing but good things about it only to be disappointed when I received it. Considering the price point being so expensive, I expected much more from this unit. I followed all the proper steps to set it up and it worked for 2 days then it stopped. The machine stopped producing humidity and the thermostat kept power cycling. I did all the troubleshooting steps and still did not work. Now I’m stuck. Bad experience ... show more

  • My $200 Magna 3.0 Is Loud And Weak -- Returned My $200 Magna 3.0 Is Loud And Weak -- Returned
Size: Magna
I am not impressed with the build quality of the water box and especially the fans of the Cigar Oasis Magna 3.0 humidifier! I spent over $1,200.00 building my 30sq/ft industrial humidor and while that may not seem like much for a humidor of this size, this humidor is for bulk storage, not public display, so it is not pretty. But the one thing I tried above all to build was a super insulated and nearly silent humidor. My humidor has six internal fans. Three circulate the internal air. Two fans bring filtered fresh air in and one fan exhausts air if the humidity or temperature gets too high. And yet with all six of these fans running they are one third the noise level of this brand new Cigar Oasis Magna 3.0. I can hear this humidifier outside my humidor which has 1.5" of rigid foam insulation and 3/4" thick plywood. The two tiny Qualtek FAD1-06025BBHW12-A fans used in the Magna 3.0 move just 23.4 cfm of air each. As for the water box itself, there is nothing sophisticated about it. The upper section is very flimsy (flexible) and the plastic grate keeps falling off. The grate does not clip into place. And the rest of the unit is just a plastic box with two tiny fans that blow air inside and over gel beads that swell with distilled water. The beads were impressive as a tiny bag of them filled the water compartment. The humidity sensor is where all the on/off magic happens and it is quite sensitive in two ways. During testing I found that the slightest press of the buttons made adjustments. And if you press longer than a millisecond or so the unit makes significantly more adjustment than you meant to make. So instead of pressing the buttons, you quickly tap them to make minor adjustments. The humidity sensor is impressively sensitive. A slightly moistened paper towel placed within a few inches of the sensor is enough for the sensor to register a humidity change. However, while you can set the desired humidity, let say 80%, you cannot set the humidity range, let say +-2% (78%-82%), because when the unit turns on and off is factory set and is not specified in the user manual. I would prefer to be able to not only set the median humidity, but also the on and off humidity range. The unit does not turn on, (as indicated in the user manual), "As soon as" the humidity drops below the set humidity. There is a lag, and this on-off lag is what I would like to set. With all this said I returned this humidifier and designed and built my own. ... show more
