Arrived faster then expected. Easy to put together. Holds humidity. It is a little loud and I don't like that I can't see the temp and humidity numbers or access the light without opening the door.

I ordered this as a Christmas gift. Once it was set up, the fan was incredibly loud. I contacted support and they said it was an issue with the fan motor. They would send me a replacement. I got the replacement and this one wouldn't stop beeping. I called customer support again, recorded a video of the beeping, and they confirmed YET again this machine was broken. I shipped both humidors back which was a giant pain due to its weight and finding a box for it. Customer support said I would be refunded within 3-4 weeks. They told me this on March 30th. I am currently still waiting on my check. Every time I call and speak with something they read the notes on the file and say they will speak with their supervisor. Worst Customer Support. Horrible Product that sucks. WAY TOO EXPENSIVE to be out-of-pocket for this much money for broken humidors. DO NOT BUY! ... show more

This product arrived with a broken glass door. Amazon quickly replaced it. New unit: The setup after allowing it to sit for 24 hours was not too difficult. Attaching the door handle took a bit of looking as you need to remove a section of the door seal to attach the door handle but the seal pops right back in. The fill for the humidor is a bit trying. It is best to use a funnel to add distilled water to it. There is no fill gauge on the tank and you cannot see the water without using a small light. The temperature and humidity setting was very easy. Once setup it took about 2 full days to begin to level off and after 5 days it does not fluctuate very much. The humidity and temperature gauge seems to be pretty accurate. A small fluctuation in temp and humidity is normal. New cigars and older ones added to the drawers and after a short amount of time (15 days) all seem to be very nice when removed. The lights are so nice, very bright and come on when door is opened. Go off when door is close. This allows you to find your stick easily. The unit is pretty quiet. Does not make much noise at all. This was a very good purchase for us and a very good value for the money if you have many sticks that require a large humidor. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. The unit holds a BUNCH of cigars and holds temp quite well. BUT- Being a refrigerated compressor type unit it sucks moisture like a succubus The shelving and lighting are of great quality. The door handle is a little loose because the supplies screw is a little too long. It’s also quite loud compared to less expensive thermo-electric units. The unit comes shipped very securely. After months of fighting the humidity controls, I unplugged this piece of shooooot and placed 4 230gr 69% Boveda packs on each of the shelves and have had no further issues. ... show more

    • Humidor keeps temp and humidity but it’s far from perfect

For starters, this doesn’t hold anything close to 840 cigars. It barely fit 500. It’s noisy. The door lock is really cumbersome and the door doesn’t stay closed unless the lock is engaged. The temp and humidity readout is hidden behind the door trim and can only be seen from below. Still interested? Set up and seasoning were easy. The door lighting is excellent. It has been running for a month and performs its primary function well. But for this much money, I expected better ergonomics and a lock mechanism that doesn’t require a safe cracker to lock and unlock. And of course, the lock is in the most awkward position. I want to like this humidor. I’m trying to like it. But it doesn’t come easy, or cheap, so the best I can say is that it’s the best mediocre humidor available. ... show more

When attaching the pull handle the screws broke thru the plastic. However a quick call to Newair support and replacement parts were on the way. Newair sent a complete new machine, I called and asked if I could just swap the broken door which was was fine by customer service. I also inquired about ordering an extra shelf (unit ships with 3, but can fit 5). I was told they were out of stock but the service rep would reach out and see if I could buy one from the unit being returned. About an hour later I received an email thanking me for my purchase of the Newair Humidor and was told to remove a shelf, and there would be no charge. Wow now I have more storage- still not sure about the capacity of 840 Cigars, but I’m going to try. ... show more

The door handle is screwed on with 2 screws. The problem lies with the thin plastic that seemed to break or was already broke when I was gently just beginning to screw the bottom screw into the door to the handle the thin tab that used to hold the screw head for attention broke, I had to use a bunch of washers and spacers on the screw to act as a buffer to tighten the screw up against the very very backing of the door on the inside. Quality control isn’t the greatest especially for the price point of this unit. It’s advertised pretty much as an entry-level upper end unit, I feel my 2 newair 250’s has amuch higher quality than this. Another issue I’m noticing is the temperature/humidity will not stabilize in the upper half of the unit. It seems the sensors are located in the lower half of the unit near the humidification at the bottom in the back, I have it set for 70/70 and I can maintain that in the lower half of the unit but the upper three are completely out of whack getting less and less accurate towards the top shelf. This should’ve shipped with the two extra drawers instead of three that were in there. As you cannot locate or purchase the two extra drawers at this time. Overall I am very upset with this purchase, but I’m currently stuck with it as I have no place to store the cigars I have in it at the moment. On the plus side the unit is very alluring and beautiful itself as a standalone. But I guess this is the case of looks are only skin deep. ... show more
