We bought this in August and I self installed it over the weekend following receipt of the shipment so this review is based on using the this set up for over three months now. We are completely happy, we will never go back to lead acid. We have owned this cart since 2012 and needed to replace our 3rd set of batteries. For roughly the same price as a new set of name brand lead acid batteries, I shed around 255 pounds off the cart and gained likely a minimum of 1600 more charge cycles. In other words, I expect to get 10+ years out of this battery. My range is now around 40 miles with constant uphill and downhill speeds. I am happy to also say the battery allows the speed limiter to regen charge the battery when going downhill. I gained a consistent 1 mph (gps verified) top speed too. The cart still has it's original stock motor and controller but larger diameter rims and tires with a lift kit and rear seat with heavy duty rear springs. With that said, we went from 18 mph (at best with a light load on a long level straight section or downhill) to a constant 19 mph no matter the terrain or load on the cart. Acceleration is noticably better too. It seems reasonable to assume all the measurable and seat of the pants improvements are probably a function of the weight savings and slightly higher, but constant voltage of this set up compared to the old lead acid set up. I did have to move a few things around and make modifications to the battery compartment and electrical harness. Don't let this scare you, even though I am not a trained golf cart mechanic, it was no big deal because I took some time to research what needed to be done. If you are considering this as a DIY project just make sure to take your time to understand what is involved before hand, you don't want to screw anything up or expose yourself to any unnecessary hazards. All the information you will need is available online from a variety of sources. I also added a LiFePO4 specific gauge so we can keep track of accurate state of charge, Amps, and Volts. It updates in real time so we can keep track in use. It is fascinating for me to see the amperage draw while in use. We have been able to learn a lot about the battery draw based on load, terrain and speed. Our cart feels lighter and has considerably more pep than before, the ride and handling are more crisp and the cart is better at carrying passengers. This is what a cart should be like from the factory. Finally, I also added an onboard 15 amp smart charger and routed the cord out to a convenient location for storage during use but also for easily access to plug it in for charging. I spent quite a few months researching battery makers and the set up I wanted to go with. I decided on a single 48V battery from Chins based on quality of materials, construction, and price along with reviews of the company from previous customers. The included Bluetooth software is basically functional, but has a hard time connecting with my phone. I do like the individual cell voltage read out, and the ability to monitor internal temps. It also tells me amp draw or charge along with battery percentage. With all that said, I find it much easier to rely on the above mentioned gauge. It is nice to see a very consistent reading between what the battery is reporting on the Bluetooth app and what the gauge is showing, so I am confident it is accurate. I installed this battery in an old 36v ezego txt, non PDS. The installation is fairly straightforward. You have to grind out the old battery hold down brackets off the tray first. You can either buy a drop in battery tray or put something down in the tray. I used a piece of 3/4 plywood in both sides of the tray. The battery actually fits in one side of the tray perfectly. I put it in the front tray. I did like most do and just used a ratchet strap to hold it in. So, as mentioned in other reviews, it gets rid of about 300 pounds, nice. It seems to perform ok, but really slows down going up hills and we live in a really hilly area. If putting two in parallel would help I may consider that. I'll update as I get more experience with it, but for now I think it's well worth it considering no more lead acid problems and much less weight. Hopefully, it will live up to it's longevity billing. Update: So after taking the golf cart with us on a camping trip to a very hilly campground, I can say the battery performance was phenomenal. We were there 4 days and the cart was used a lot and mostly fully loaded. The battery had 76% when we started and I charged it for about an hour once when it got to 56%. I didn't get to finish the charge so it went back to about 70 ish percent. It finally got down to 46% by the time we went home. It is so nice to not have to worry about lead acid batteries any longer. Time will tell as to the longevity, but it is doing great so far. ... show more

This battery cost $1130 plus tax while 6 new lead acid batteries would have cost about $1450. It doesn't require water and weighs only 87 pounds while the six lead acid batteries weighed a total of 360 pounds. It will last 10-12 years while the lead acid batteries last 4-5 years and it keeps a charge longer. It took me and a buddy about 1.5 hours to remove the 6 old 8V batteries, create a flat surface with some 2x4's and 2x6's and drop in the new Chins 48V. The old built-in charger on my 4 year old AdvancedEV golf cart works just fine and all we had to do was connect the positive and negative wires. The phone app connecting with the wifi battery also works great. I have been driving the cart now for 2 weeks with the new battery with no problems. ... show more

I really like the battery. This one 24V 200 Ah battery replaced four 12 V lead acid golf cart batteries. Besides not having to regularly water and maintain corrosion free connections one of the things I like is the voltage range. This battery supports my off grid home solar power supply. I can now run a 1 HP well pump at night without my 240V inverter sounding a low voltage alarm because the battery stays above 26 V running a 1,800 watt pump. Besides being physically much smaller than the lead acid bank it replaced it also weighs about what one of the four batteries it replaced did. Another advantage is the much greater usable capacity, I can see that this is going to allow me to use more energy during the AC season. Previously I nearly always used no more than 10% of my banks capacity so I have far more usable energy. Finally the ability to mount in any position, the quicker charging time, and lack of need for temperature compensation round out my list of advantages. On the other hand this one battery cost much more than the four it replaced. If it's useful life is much longer than the lead acid batteries then the value for the money will be better. Having only recently purchased this battery I will have to wait to make that determination. That is why I used four stars rather than five. The battery was well packaged, arrived in good condition and arrived sooner than promised at time of sale. So no complaints, so far. ... show more
