This chicken swing set was easy to put together, although it did not come with a tool to hold the bolts while you tighten the screws. I used my socket wrench to hold the bolts. It is painted, which is good, hopefully that means it'll hold up better to the weather. To get my chickens interested I have been feeding them treats around it, but every time one tries to get up on the swing they face plant, so I don't know if they will ever figure that part out. They at least can perch on the top which is nice. Hoping with time and practice they can get up on the swings. I see this being a very nice set up to keep them entertained. I am not sure it is worth $60 but it is a good size and if it ends up being able to entertain them for a while then may be a good investment. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. I set this up in our backyard run to give my mixed flock something to do between free-range time and bedtime. Assembly was straightforward and I appreciated that everything lined up without drama. Within a day the bolder hens were queuing up for the swings while the rest used the top bar as a high roost. Pros Solid A-frame feels stable and secure Long 67 inch top bar gives plenty of perch space for multiple hens Three included swings add enrichment and keep the birds moving Easy to assemble with clearly marked parts and predrilled holes My flock actually uses it for both daytime play and evening roosting Cons Big footprint; plan space so you can still rake and clean around it Shyer birds may need time to warm up to the swings Works best on level ground to prevent wobble Comparison Compared with the simple 2x4 roosts I’ve built, this offers far more enrichment. The DIY bars are fine for sleeping, but the swing set design gets the birds engaged and spreads them out, which has helped reduce pecking in my coop. Time will tell how this chicken perch/swing holds up! It is a little light weight but so are chickens, so I'm not too worried about it. I'm more worried about the kids somehow breaking it. If your chickens are more curious/teachable then they will probably like it. Assembly wasn't difficult, but it would have been nice if the kit came with something to tighten the nuts like a wrench or some kind of socket. Doing it by hand is time consuming and I eventually just pulled out a socket I had. There were extras of all the hardware and they included a screwdriver. ... show more

super easy to assemble, I do recommend sealing the wood is much bigger than I thought but the size is great. I feel its a little to expensive especially for the quality and having to buy sealer to protect the wood.

I ordered and received the 3 swing version and I am very happy with it. It is well made and easy to assemble. My hens love the swings and love perching on the top bar of the swing. I once tried to construct a DIY configuration of a similar swing, but for whatever reason my birds did not take to the swing I built and it remained almost completely unused. This swing set is being used so good job. I have recently renewed my flock with a bunch of young birds and I am happy to have something to keep them amused/occupied as they get used to the run and coop. Great price and it's adorable. There could have been better instructions altogether, but specifically for the knoting. This can work for several yard birds, and they love these. It's nice that it's wood, but if you want it to last, you should put it under something with a roof. The design is simple yet beautiful. Definitely sturdy enough for birds. I'm really fond of this roosting set. It's ideal for my six-week-old chicks and will continue to suit them perfectly once they're fully grown. The set is constructed from exceptionally sturdy wood, and all necessary holes are pre-drilled. A screwdriver is included, which is all you need to assemble the entire unit.
