Will keep the coop nice and warm during the winter! We thankfully don't live to where it drops too often below freezing, but when it does, it seems to stick around for a week or so. I hate thinking of our chickens being that cold for too long. They are hardy, but if I know it's going to drip down in temps for awhile, I plan to keep them happy and warm by running this outside for them. I have seen so many posts in chicken groups after someone used a regular heat lamp in their coop, and it is so dangerous! So the safety of using this type of heater is great for peace of mind!

I have three outdoor dogs in a shed and I will be using this for the winter to keep them comfortable. Some people use it for chickens but I will use it for my pets. It heats relatively quickly, easy to clean and install. It’s lightweight so you can hang it from anywhere.

This is my third chicken coop heater and I want to just tell you, while they are not foolproof, they are a lot safer than the heating lamps. I know multiple people who have had fires started by those, so just think about that. This one is a present for my son, who also caught the poultry bug. I took it out of the box, plugged it in to make sure it worked, it did. My other heaters had legs and a stand, but this one is super cool because it has not only the stand, but it gives you the option (AND THE HARDWARE) to either mount it or suspend it, which as anyone with poultry knows, keeping electrical items of there line of fire is very important. They like to poop on things. I like how the cord is contained in a fire resistant coil. The remote option is awesome. My package arrived super quickly and was in excellent shape with everything as described. These are generally easy to clean if you keep up with them. If you let poop get on them and it bakes on, it's like scrubbing your electric griddle. Just follow the instructions. They're included too.
